Pokemon! Everyone loves em, and if you don't, you didn't have a childhood. Or adulthood. Anyways, let's imagine all SHL and SMJHL players are now pokemon. Assemble your team! On top of that, what is your strategy to navigate the POKESHL? Try to get the strongest pokemon and become champion? Catch all of the possible players and complete your pokedex? UwU Breed them? Catch low level juniors players and train them? Or become a gym leader, helping others on their path to greatness? I'd love to hear your approach.
if i could catch shl players like i could catch pokemon i would probably catch all of the buffalo stampede players and stuff them in the pc for all of eternity so they could stop thinking theyre better than everyone else and shut up for once. Always talking bout how theyre the gods of the shl talking bout how they “developed” fiddler and zoltan like bruh you sound dumb as fuck them boys are cudas through and through as if yall are the sole reason for them flourishing in the league like lmaooooooo yall really have to have the biggest ego’s in the world to think that its honestly pretty sad if you ask me. After i boxed the stampede fellas for all of eternity i would catch my cuda boys train all they asses up to level 100 and dominate the pokemon league easy peasy. These chompers would have absolutely no competition

So this was a tough season for everyone in the SHL. Dealing with trolls online, horrible PR from product endorsements, and on top of that all some minor identity fraud to add to the pile. Are these the worst things to happen to your player this season, or did something unimaginably horrible happen? On the flip side, were there any bright spots hidden in the countless nuisances and problems? What good things on and off the ice happened this season for you?
In the midst of the chaos plaguing the Simulation Hockey League, Michael Scarn had a rather pleasant time throughout the course of the season. Michael Scarn had to deal with some online internet scans, but nothing too badly and he only lost about $500,000 to scams this season which was far less than he usually does to internet scams in years past. Michael Scarn also opened up a new business in his down time as a side hustle to his hockey career and his second career as a branch manager. Michael Scarn opened up "Shoe La La", which is a store for shoes for the finer days of a gentleman's life, like the day of their wedding or if they are feeling particularly snazzy one day. Michael Scarn lost quite a lot of money on the business so far, but it is again not a bad time for Michael Scarn in his personal life.

We're adding 2 teams to the SMJHL this season. Do you think we should keep the current SMJHL playoff format of everyone makes it? Or is it time to just take the best 8 or 12 teams and let em duke it out? Defend your stance.
For the SMJHL, I think that chaos might be a good practice by still allowing every team to make the playoffs. Seeding is still a very important part to any team's hopes of finding success in the postseason, so the regular season does still matter and creates some interesting competitive games between teams. However, by including everyone in the playoffs, you still allow teams in the SMJHL to stay interested through the course of their season thereby keeping player retention high since everyone always has something to play for until the very end of the season. This has been a good practice and will continue to be one if kept.

We're at a point in the SHL where a good chunk of the playerbase played back in the STHS era, and a good chunk has known nothing but FHM. If you're in the latter part of the league you must have heard the horror stories... so: Let's make a hypothetical.
Players who played in both eras: What would have happened if we just had one sim engine? Posture how your career would have gone if we stayed in STHS (sans exploits). Or what if you had created in FHM the whole time? Would things have gone better or worse?
For you FHM babies: What if we were still in Simon T land? Would your career be where it is now? Or would randomness have stunted the dynasties you may or may not have been part of?
Had the league not changed to Franchise Hockey Manager 6 from Simon T Hockey Simulator, the course of the league and the style of management we have seen in the seasons since the change would be very different. Firstly, after the switch to Franchise Hockey Manager, the differences in ability between players became widely more pronounced, more than ever before by a wide magnitude. Teams like the Toronto North Stars were making the playoffs or being close to in STHS immediately became terrible upon the switch to Franchise Hockey Manager, as the switch over exposed their lack of true TPE talent on their roster. Ever since then, teams have started something of an arms race to acquire talent, as talent in players has become the true deciding factor in making a team click, rather than maybe team strategy or some other intangible that let teams get blessed by the RNG from Simon T.

Luke will have a wonderful time together at dinner with me. Luke is a great guy, and I can only imagine he looks as handsome and beautiful as Gritty in his profile picture. Luke and I will go dine at the world's finest restaurant and have cheesesteaks together. However, upon the end of our meal together, the authorities will bust into the restaurant and attempt to arrest us as criminals and accomplices who performed the heist. But we will then escape together and run away together and run off as fugitives to a new country and start a new life together.

After a season full of controversies and fraud, both from the hockey world like all those players who didn't get paid or those GMs trading picks they don't own, again, or from outside of the ice rink, like the major PR nightmare that happened with the Welsh alphabet soup who was missing all the voyels, there was also some good in the career of Kynwyl Pearce. For his 2nd season with the Monarchs, he managed to get 13 goals and 12 assist for 25 points in 66 games, 4 more goals than his previous season in the big league. It's not at the level of what he was able to produce in the juniors but if he continue like that, he will see his numbers rise for a long time. But the best thing that happened to him was helping his team end the longest playoffs drought! Before S60, the last time the Minarchs were in playoffs was during the SimonT times when they were still called the Chiefs, back in S46. 13 seasons long drought finally ended!

What's your prediction for this season's IIHF tournament? Which teams do you expect to do well (or not well)? Which players?
For this season's IIHF tournament, it will be hard to do something against the 4 big teams of Canada and scandinavians (Noways, Sweden and Finland) but instead of the boring Canada for the gold, I'll go for a more bold approach. it's probably one of those 4 that will get gold but I'm predicting that none of them will get silver. My prediction is Great Britain for Silver. Yes, it's not a power house and their team is older and older after each season but their forward group are still capable of competing against the bests with players like Vorian Atreides, Jon Forty-One or Rhys Pritchard leading the team. One player that could surprise everyone is young Kynwyl Pearce who will make his debut in the IIHF. While he wont play at his usual forward position, his scoring abilities should be helping the team.

b. Buffalo has been here many times in the past 20 seasons, this is only the second (I think I'm too lazy to check) time for Chicago. Which is more impressive? The continued dominance of Buffalo? Or the solid couple of runs Chicago has made despite the team only being 15 seasons old?
c. Everyone's a critic: Nitpick one thing about either team's logo, jersey, rink design, goal horn, or general site demeanor.
d. Who is the best player to play for either team? Is it a current player? Retired? Traded? Make your case.
a. Of course they deserve to be there but they don't at the same time. only the big 4-5 teams that are at the top since we switched to FHM. Where are the good old time of teams trying to tank for a rebuild and instead get the best forward line of all time. I miss SimonT
b. Fuck Buffalo. They are at the top for so long because everyone are trading them their firsts, they draft great players with them and trade those they can't keep for more firsts. Chicago being up there finally is impressive but how in hell are Buffalo still up there. Fuck them even if they are impressive.
c. To keep in the same theme kas the other 2, if there's something to critic about, it's how nearly every season of SHL is predictable from the start with FHM. The same teams are at the top, no one sign with the lower teams, one team for the great lakes is getting shafted by being in the best division (usually Toronto). I really miss the randomness of SimonT

Why only one date when you could plan more than one. What I would do to thanks Luke is to invite him for a game in every hockey arena! Lets watch a game at home for all 20 SHL teams, compare all concessions food, see by ourself wich are the best place to watch a hockey game. And to be sure to watch every one of them, why not also go for the SMJHL arenas and don't forget the IIHF and WJC. Who know, maybe the best place to watch a hockey game is in Tokyo, watching the Japan National team play against Canada.

It was a very weird season for me. While I was initially sad to get unprotected and exposed in expansion it was more because my former team went on to the playoffs again. So while I didn't get another shot at the playoffs I did get a lot more playing time. The season started off very rough. I wasn't scoring at all and we were losing a lot. Well we still lost a lot of games but I think we grew a lot as a team. I played a lot better as the season wore on and I think that helped at least a little bit. This was up there for my best season ever and I'm hoping to build upon that for next year. I think next year I can be a real force based on the groundwork I have laid this season. Plus I think the team will have done a lot of growing next year.

What's your prediction for this season's IIHF tournament? Which teams do you expect to do well (or not well)? Which players?
I think this is the year that team Sweden will actually win gold. And I'm not just saying that because I play for the great king of Sweden. Every year we seem to be very close to making it to the gold medal game. We either play in a brutal group stage or lose a game very close to medal contention. With the addition of Jimmy I think it could really put us over the edge. We have a ton of great forwards and I think this could finally be our turn. The normal great teams will still stay great. The USA is always really good and so is Great Britain. Japan was really good last year and I expect them to continue to be very solid. So my expectation is that Sweden, Japan, and the USA all get medals this year and Sweden will finally win gold. I need that sweet medal money so I would really appreciate a nice gold medal.

I joined right at the end of the STHS era. While I didn't love the fact that we couldn't see how we played I always loved waking up at 7 am and discussing how the sim went with our locker room. I also think the update scale was much better. I think it was much easier to make a build and you kinda knew what you were doing. In saying that I love FHM and the visualization you get with it. The index is also amazing and I love all of the work that has gone into it. I think that if we were still on STHS my player would probably have had a much better career. I think making a build in FHM is much harder and it is harder to be good at lower TPE levels. If I was in FHM my entire career I think that I would probably be the same. It is really hard to say but maybe I would understand builds better.
1- Ups & Downs 3 TPE
Quite a crazy season it was as multiple disturbances off the ice certainly had an impact on Tokkes play on the ice. Especially come playoff time. The season started off scorching hot scoring 5 points in 3 games filling in as a 3rd line center for the Colorado Raptors. Given that early success & his top PK minutes and faceoffs taken, Tokke has been furiously working on his faceoffs this offseason. Even though he is a winger those defensive faceoffs wins are crucial to winning and losing in such a tight knit close league. The season ended on a positive note with the Raptors winning their division once again while Tokke just fell short of his 100-100 blocked shots/hits ratio goal he was shooting for. However, all the turmoil from off the ice incidents finally caught up to him, and my lord it was an absolute shit show. Granted being the top defensive forward specialist playing an Uber almost god like talented forward group on the Armada doesn’t help. But nonetheless, after an extremely up & down season things are looking up and onward.
2. Pokémon- 3 TPE
So for my approach Im going with a bevy of players leading various SHL or SMJHL teams, whoever has better sounding names really doesn’t matter. And then deciphering whether they are a Pokémon, gym leader, regular boring trainer etc.
Leading the Platoon would be Karl Krashwagen. Sounds like a gym leader that has stew & fighting type Pokémon. Camping out blocking your way in the frozen tundra of the later levels of Pokémon games, ‘think…the route right before victory road,’ representing the blizzard would be a Pokémon’s trainer named Johnny Shuffleboard.Repping the North Stars is the most obvious electric evolutionary form of Zapdos I have ever seen. None other than Rusian Zaporozhets. Wonder if he hangs out by power plants. One of the few team name player name combo that actually kinda works well. The Kraken are represented by Aleks Blixstrom, which definitely sounds like a newer gen ice and steel or fairy some weird combo type Pokémon.

I think it’s a great idea to expand the SMJHL and incentivize making the playoffs and not being one of the few teams to not make it to the dance. Given the current system (through no fault of HO or the league in general, stupid FHM) a team can have 5 wins on the entire season and still make the playoffs. While that’s great for some new users to get some extra playoff time in it can also be discouraging getting clapped by the better teams continuously. Having the best 12 teams make the playoffs and fight it out for champion I think would be an absolute boon for the entire league.

Ugh, poetry is so 17th century, we're ditching that prompt. Earlier in the season I had you flex your songwriting in an SHL style parody, but this time you don't have a song to lean on. You're writing your very own diss track about something SHL related. A player, A team, A GM, anything. You can write a diss track about CW if you want.
Here are the rules: At least 12 lines (and at least 60 words total) but if you wanna do more go for it. I'm not laying out a specific rhyme scheme but there has to be rhyme in it. Be creative! This prompt is not for everyone, if you have a problem with it there are like 15 other prompts I made for ya. NOTE: THIS IS ALL IN JEST; ANYTHING OVERLY MEAN OR MALICIOUS WILL NOT BE GRADED. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Championship week oh man how I dread it, think I gotta get one of those PT passes on credit. Took forever to write these rhymes, waited until the last day, hopefully whomever reads this gives me a passing grade. Procrastination might as well be my middle name, & because of that this soliloquy is really kinda lame. But who cares in reality this is all fun & games, Play your cards right & end up in the Hall of Fame.

Hello, I do like the Pokemans, it is my favorite thing in the whole wide world. If I was going to be in the SHL Pokeverse, I think I would be one of those trainers you meet on the side of the road while you are traveling that has all their pokemon tailored to be of a certain type. Obviously being a two time Turd Ferguson award winner, and a full time professional shit disturber, I would be a fighting type pokemon trainer. I think I would prolly have 3 pokemon, since the side of the road trainers never have a full deck to work with? idk, its a big plot hole, fix ur shit game freak! Anyways, my three pokemon would be Juni Panda, Pojo Biscuit, and and Joseph Fantobens. They are all proficient in the game of physical play, plus Fantobens totally sounds like a pokemon name already, so its just a perfect fit on the team

So I think its pretty simple this prompt. FHM both made and ended my career really. Thanks to FHM, I have no longer become the hits, blocks, and penalties machine I always wanted to be. It forces me not to fight, forces me not to hit a lot, and overall it really is pretty disappointing. I want to become a meme, how am I supposed to do that when the sim engine is always holding me back???
That being said though, on STHS as an enforcer I was unwanted. I went in the second round of a weak draft despite being a known user, stayed down for max years in the minors despite max earning for a bit besides extra purchases, and wasnt really even liked in my own SMJHL team. So while FHM ended my career hopes of being a hits, fights, and penalties machine, it also helped me become a player that teams actually wanted and would pay max money for. So take that for what you will

b) I would say that Buffalo's run is more impressive, though mostly because I dont know much and am making assumptions based on very old info. All I remember about Buffalo in the not so distant past was that they were an absolute joke of a team. now here they are, transformed into a perennial dynasty. I think that takes a lot of skill to raise a team from ashes like that.

6: So upon looking at the round robin standings as of now, it is pretty clear that Canada is the favorite to take home the gold, as they currently have the best points percentage of all teams. I don't see things going very well for Latvia, as they currently have the worst points percentage of all teams. That simply won't do. Other favorites include Norway, Finland, and Sweden, as they are the next 3 teams in points percentage. Only the best analysis here from me. On to the players, I think the best performance so far is from Daniel LaForest, who is leading the tournament in both goals and total points, with 10 goals, 7 assists, for 17 points. Simply incredible and more goals and points than anybody else. LaForest is a forward for Norway, who also has Cillian Kavanaugh, the goalie who is leading the round robin in both wins and shutouts. Norway certainly has the star power advantage and that just might propel them to the gold medal (3 TPE)
7: So I never played in the STHS era, nor do I really know anything about it. I have been in this league for 3 seasons now so there isn't a ton of time for things to have changed, but man I'm sure things would have been so different anyway. Like really different. I know I've personally been screwed by FHM thousands of times (nobody else has been screwed by sim luck, only me.) so if we had a different sim engine that wasn't biased I would probably have 3 league MVP awards by now. Just imagine how could I would be without bad sim luck. I don't know much about STHS, including what it stands for, but I do know that it would have been totally so much better for my player and FHM is really just a thinly veiled Granny PanPan nerf. FHM sucks, bring me back to the glory days. (3 TPE)
12A: Nah these teams don't deserve to be here. They had it easy, they are all weak. They got lucky that they had to go against teams that weren't as good as them, that's all. They aren't good, every other team is just bad. I don't even know which teams they played to get there? Baltimore? Atlanta? Philadelphia? No clue, But Chicago and Buffalo 100% don't deserve to be there +1 TPE
12B: I think the hardest thing to do in this league is consistently stay good. The best teams are really really good, so a lot of times you have to sell the future to really hit the cup contending tier, and that makes it hard to stay on top when your best guys start regressing and your prospects aren't enough to replace them. Buffalo had to hit on a lot of draft picks and make smart decisions to stay where they are. +1 TPE
12C: I don't like the Armada's team name. Boats? Seriously? All the cool wacky things in the world to name a team after and you choose boats? If you wanted the aquatic route choose like pirates or something. At least that's kinda cool. Boats? Actually disgusting and idk why they picked that +1 TPE
12D: Nichalas Owens is the best player in this series. I give huge bias to defenseman who can really drive play for their team and that is exactly what Owens is. The Stampede's offense can't function without that absolute weapon on the back end, and that's what is gonna win them this championship (haha i already know who wins) +1TPE
