Following in Kelowna and St. Louis footsteps of repeating as champions, the Anaheim Outlaws, currently at the top of the SMJHL standings will win the Four Star Cup for the second season in a row.
For: the Anaheim Outlaws are lead by an excellent GM team and their LR attracts positive, enthusiastic players. They will be in tip-top shape to become repeat champions, even if much of their top talent has been cycled through with SHL call-ups.
After a change in management, the Lethbridge Lions will finish in the top 5 of the SMJHL standings.
For. The Lions have already shown some improvement since the change in management and I believe they will continue to climb. They currently stand just a few points out of the top 5 and have a strong roster, so it shouldn't be too difficult for them to surge forward a bit more now that they have competent management.
It's become clear that the torch has officaly been passed to the S39 draft class as the dominant force in the SHL.
For!
This is less due to the strength of the class and moreso due to the natural progression of the SHL. An SHL player spends the majority of their careers working towards amassing a high TPE count and by the time you hit the point S39 is at, your class will be the dominant force. I expect in ten seasons we'll be talking the same about the S49 class.

Of course it is, I would argue we were the best draft class in the league as of probably last season. And I mean hell, this draft class has Jon fucking Toner. The guy's fucking jacked. Thick, dense, built whatever you wanna call him he's got it. Legs thicker than my chest, and shoulders wider than my wingspan. Making full use of his frame and with the golden flow to top it off. He dwarfed us all. Bonafide stallion.

The Manhattan Rage (6-13-4) who are currently in last place will storm back in the 2nd half and capture 1 of the 5 playoff spots in the Western Division.
Manhattan has just had a bad start. They are bound to turn this around and go on a tear with the players they have on the ice. They have a dominating offense and a steady defense that will be able to help them get back into the win column. Playmakers like Alex Winters and goal scorers like Luke Thomason will lead the team to the promise land.

Against
It would be extremely difficult for the Manhattan Rage to capture a Western conference playoff spot. I just don’t see how they’re going to manage to convince the league to let them move to the West, especially in the middle of a season. Even if they do, it is unlikely that they turn it around at the midway point without a drastic move.

Tampa Bays 14-5 start should come as no surprise as they boast the most talented young line up in the East.
Kinda for.
This team is filled with a very young roster rising up and thirsty for some more points and TPE. All the rookies are emerging and rising fast, and everything are clicking well between everybody, so no surprises here. Although, the 'Packs are howling with a lot of new pups(me included) and is making a case for themselves too, competing with Tampa for this title.
Go Wolfpack!
> Tampa Bays 14-5 start should come as no surprise as they boast the most talented young line up in the East.
For. They're good now, but it's only gonna get better for these guys. Their S46 and S47 Drafts were incredible (it helps having 5 1st round picks), and picking up Kaspars Claude in the S48 draft pretty much brought this team to a whole other level. With 2 rookies already producing, it's going to be real exciting to see the likes of Soderberg and Cloutier come up in the near future for that already potent offense. Defense is going to improve with time, with DuBølk (if his build is in check) and Claude coming in soon as well.
it also helps that their pickups in Alex Andani and Kristaps Ball gave the team a well deserved boost.
While it is true that older players still make a large impact on our game as a whole, it’s becoming clear that younger talent is slowly starting to take over the scene. Players like Patrick Brumm Jr. and Reece Artois are already making their presence shown, and as the SHL only gets younger every year, more names are sure to get our attention. With the Western Conference being the strongest overall of the two, it should come as no surprise that the Jets have found the right fuel to power through some tough division opponents to lead the West. Led on offense by Lil Manius and his line of 20+ goal scorers Jason Visser and Crossfit Jesus, and leading the pack with a hot start from goaltender Cedric Moreau, the Jets have found a way to compete against some of the more stacked talent the league has seen in a long time, and has found their way to the top. While it’s dubious to discredit the monster rookie season by Cody, it’s unlikely that he, as dominant as he is, will find a way to outlast the best of the SMJHL’s finest goalscoring machines, as the likes of Julio Tokolosh (11-13-24) and Boruvka Banananak (8-16-24) have shown us this season. It’s also important to not the Raiders’ struggles as of late, hovering just above .500, and struggling to climb over their standings opponent, the Detroit Falcons. If the climate of mediocrity continues, it’s unlikely that Cody will continue his string of uninterrupted rookie dominance enough to capture a scoring title. Everyone loves a great story, and there’s no better story than the one behind the Most Improved Player award. In the case of the S48 season, no two players are more fitting to win this award than Martin and Tanner. The old souls found themselves facing retirement coming into the year, and have given the hockey world and exit party of a lifetime. Both players are within or above a point per game in their performances, truly proving that it’s best to save your best for last. While it’s hard to be a bad team, there’s nowhere to go but up, and the Manhattan Rage have shown, if anything, that they’re better than the standing shows. As for a comeback, this scenario would require a turnaround of historic proportions, as the Rage would have to win 18 more games (aka a point percentage of .750) to make the playoffs with 27 games remaining. Improbable, but not impossible. If it’s a goal to shoot for, the Rage should be ready to take aim. The Minnesota Chiefs have had the season of a lifetime, with a lazer-hot start to begin this season, led by one of, if not the best offensive 1st line in the league, as headliners, Terrance Nova, Bobby Watson, and Eric Pelletier have combined for 72 points and 31 goals. Comparison can be made for the Winnipeg Jets’ Manius-Visser-Jesus line, or the Platoon’s Bennett-Wong-Woodcraft line, who have both put up similar numbers, but the Chiefs’ hot start has not come from the backs of good defense or solid goaltending, unlike the Jets and Platoon. Safe to say, the Nova-Watson-Pelletier line has provided the sparkplug for a dominant season of hockey in Minnesota. Creating a dynastic championship streak is, among other things, very hard. Only the greatest teams have ever created a back-to-back streak, and only legendary teams have created 3-peats, like the mentioned Kelowna Knights and St. Louis Scarecrows. While the Outlaws are in a great position to repeat as champions, the true test of the 3-peat involves whether or not Anaheim is ready as a franchise to lose their key pieces to the SHL in order to continue their run of excellence. Of all the rookies to make their impact known in the SHL, one stands tall as the premier young emerging talent. In just 23 games, Chicago’s Kit Smeb has registered 6 goals along with his 10 assists for 16 points so far this season. The rookie has been a key asset to the struggling Syndicate, and seems to be a quick lock for the Rookie of the Year award. Youth can act as a sparkplug in the SHL, and it’s easy to note how new, energized and straight good the Tampa Bay Barracuda look over the 23-game stretch. The new acquisitions of Matthew Cuzman, Van Morrison, Joseph Gagnier, and Akashi SixNine have been key in the Barricuda’s 14-5-4 record. For the Lethbridge Lions, the front office overhaul may be the least of the worries. With problems in goaltending and a lack of scoring in the top 6, the Lions are struggling to compete, and as such, are lagging behind in the standings, falling behind Halifax for 6th in the league. These problems aren’t exactly the fault of the upheaval up front.

After a change in management, the Lethbridge Lions will finish in the top 5 of the SMJHL standings.
Against: It is still far too early to determine where the Lethbridge will finish at the end of the regular season in the SMJHL. The season is only halfway over and as we have seen in the world of hockey, many teams make a sudden push near the final stretch of play and the standings can take a dramatic turn. The Lions are also 11-12 after 23 GP so they are looking like a bubble team as regards to finishing in the top 5.
In this skilled rookie class, Chicago forward Kit Smeb will win the rookie of the year award.
For, Chicago forward Kit Smeb will hang on to his rookie scoring lead until the end of the season and then he will win the rookie of the year award. With a decent amount of 5 on 5 ice time and his role quarterbacking the power play, the young forward will continue to see opportunities to put up points, and he will only continue to develop (increase TPE) as the year goes on.

I'm for this. Manhattan destroyed Texas in the last sim, which showed that they can be a much better team than their record shows. The West hasn't been very strong this season at all, so it is not crazy to think that they could sneak in.
highly skilled rookie 'Cody', playing in a league of capped forwards, will capture the SMJHL S48 goal-scoring title.
FOR
Cody has been a fantastic offensive weapon this season for the Halifax Raiders scoring 11 goals and 9 assists for 20 points in 23 games. Cody was selected third overall by the Raiders on a team that seemed to be lacking that scoring touch. Cody has been given second line minutes with second line power play time and has been pivotal to the Raiders much improved record by providing much needed depth scoring. He has found a lot of Chemistry with another stand out player who was a Free agent aquisition in season 47 to being taken 7th overall in the SHL entry draft by the Pride, Timmo Kyllonen. Kyllonen currently leads the SMJHl with 20 assists which has played a big part in Cody’s emergence. Cody currently sits tied for second in scoring with 10 goals with only theo Morgan ahead of him with 12. I believe the continued strong play from Cody and Kyllonen will be the deciding factor in Cody taking the scoring title in the SMJHL for season 48.

The Best juniors prospect in the world is named Julio Tokolosh of Colorado.
hellllllllllllll yeahhhhh buddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy it sure is! Well, it depends on your definition of "best" really. If the question is who will turn into the best hockey player at the next level, Tokolosh is close but i'd have to give the edge to Olivier Cloutier @Jenny - but if best means who is the most spectacular spectacle in juniors? the most entertaining player to watch? the most fun creature in the league? That's toko. I mean, for a cow to have such grace and finesse with the puck at his hooves is truly an amazing sight to behold. @Julio Tokolosh
