Karey (Marius-BUF) Punishment / Update Rule Addition
#61

I wasn't trying to bend rules and pad my players TPE but also didn't take the due diligence to make sure my updates were sound.

It is what it is, it's fair as it should be.

As for updaters, I'm sorry that you are getting roped into it, sure there was an oversight from your end, but it was truly my fault.

You did nothing wrong, a mistake was a mistake.

As for the updaters, the fact HO is inputting a new rule that should have 100% been in place from the get-go, means that they don't think it was an oversight on the updater's end so the fact they chose to punish them as well is next level ineptitude

I can say with 100% certainty this was not a result of cheating. Karey should’ve kept track of his capped TPE, but he didn’t, and the updaters let it slide over the course of several seasons.

The proper updating protocol wasn’t followed but it wasn’t intentional cheating. Karey isn’t that kind of person, no matter what misguided opinions you may have on Buffalo.

Yea I don't believe this was malicious for a second. He did have one of his double claims both in the same update (the one I processed actually) which is dumb but hardly an evil action. Yea, we should have caught that but, just like in Karey's case, accidents happen. I won't be appealing my fine.

Can I make you a sig for free? Honestly the least I could do because you and the other guys being fined is a burden I want to pay.

it's me, updater that got punished coming here to claim that sig

"Lastly… from this moment forward ALL UPDATE THREADS in SHL and SMJHL must also contain your updated seasonal TPE cap (ex. S43 3/40). If it is not listed when your updater processes updates, you WILL be skipped for the week of updates."

Given as that is a rule no one's thought to introduce until an unfortunate mistake happened, it's probably stupid to try and pin this on anyone, especially not the player it happened to.

First of all, don't play this game with me, Justice. I can't find it on the new site, nor do I care to spend that much time looking for it, but on the old site there was an example thread on how to update your player. It shows you to keep track of your capped TPE. Click this link to see.

Karey would have been here during the times of the old site, and this link is provided in the "Your First PT" link, so I don't buy your reasoning.

Yo what's up with the severity of Karey's punishment by the way? I didn't expect any real league action for this. Maybe a 10 game suspension OR a 2-5m fine, not both, and certainly not even more severe than that. That should be lowered.

at no point was it a rule to track it yourself, it was just a rule to not go over the limit

@Eggy216 Why is the equivalent of this thread http://theshl.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showtopic=37657 not given in the First PT thread anymore?

We have a Pris post (which I admittedly haven't read through) but people are saying there wasn't anything that said to keep track of their capped TPE. If it says to in the current post, then so be it. If it doesn't, then this could solve these sorts of issues.

Nah, we're at fault here too, but I'll never turn down a free sig :eyes:

Punishing the updaters is pretty dumb.

This is rough, but everyone involved who has commented is owning up to it and understands the deeper meaning behind it. @karey You are still going to crush out there once you are back. Just kind of hope most of our games against you happen in the first half. Biggrin Stars

You're really gonna play that card? It's called being organized, honest, and sympathetic to the other members who have to go through all the update threads every week. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Not doing it is lazy, and if those three qualities aren't something you possess, then you've got some stuff to figure out.

fuck buffalo, what an entire team of cheating cunts.

I'm truly sad to be drafted here and after signing that big 8 year 6m deal, I am horrified that these accusations have turned out to be true.

So you see that, then get told there isn't any capped TPE for you. Then after your first season when there's finally capped TPE you've totally forgotten about that thread anyway

On top of that, the post you didn't read is actually more detailed in outlining the updating process. Maybe try that sometime before making wild accusations.
