S81 PT #4: To The Last Drop of Blood Due: Sunday, March 16th @ 11:59 PM PST
#76

The Last game of the season NEW plays SFP. Checking the roster there is only one person, ONE PERSON , I want to fight. @Seany148 aka Edzus Ozolins, aka The man who owes a lot of people happy meals based on our last Podcast. This is the way I see the fight going down. First things first, since @Seany148 is on the 5th line and I'm not, I'll have to wait until the 3rd period when he gets his 5 minutes of ice time. From there, I'll skate right over to him and cross check him right in the back. When he gets up and starts to cry, Imma drop my gloves and just start swinging like a lumberjack in an all you can eat forest. It is going to be like the lonely island song, Rocky. Only I'm Rocky, and Seany is Andy Sandberg. Straight up a Sucker punch left and a sucker punch right, then 22 consecutive sucker punch rights!

Just kidding, I love you @Seany148 and totally won't be putting some TPE into fighting to try and fight you the last game of the season. (192)

Written Option 2:

As the Chicago Syndicate make a push towards the end of the season, their Goaltender Elvar Gil-Galad has one recommendation for the bosses in order to be a more successful team and make a solid play-off run.

And that suggestion is bench his ass. Don't let him play. Seriously, this goalie is so bad. The only time the team wins when Elvar is in net is when they manage to score 6 or more goals because Elvar will let in at least five. Just look at what Norway did in in the IIHF last season. Elvar didn't play a single game and the team won the gold medal.

Maybe its just a sophomore slump, but for reasons completely unknown, Gil-Galad has lost his mojo as a good goalie like he was in the juniors. If the Syndicate want to win, Elvar should be far from the ice. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs but most of all.... WOOOO CHICAGO!

As Louis Belanger was skating towards the opposite end of the ice, he sees his teammate @HillsHaveHats get destroyed because he was too busy thinking about pylons and how good they look. Louis rushes to defend his friend and drops the gloves to face his opponent Mark. Mark is severed so his player on the ice is distinct from the player off the ice thanks to a chip in his head. Mark and Louis start exchanging punches, but soon Louis gets the edge and places a good right hook that crushes Mark and makes him fall on the ice. With Louis still standing, the fans cheer and the whole bench is roaring. This sends a signal to the team to wake up and to stop thinking about pylons. For the rest of the game, Oliver starts playing well and is able to defend a bit. No longer a pylon, he skates in the backend and stops some shots.

Written Option 2:

Right now Colorado hasnt played exceptionally well this season. But that does not really matter. If we can come together as a team and get hot for the playoffs there is no telling what we could do. So we have to come together as a team and work hard. We have to keep building team chemistry both on and off the ice. As the Captain, Rocky Gislason, hosts weekly parties at his place. The parties are not big elaborate drinking parties. No they are dinner parties, movie parties, gaming parties. Anything to get the squad together and just hang out. The movie party is a big hit if we all had a long tough week and just need to chill out and relax. The gaming party is also another great one. Play some video games or board games where we can team up and talk strategies. Really helps the communication out. Come playoff time, these parties have a big factor into our games. Tiny Princess loves to give out his motivational speech and leads by example. Centrist is usually the jokester of the bunch and can get the team to lighten up and get out of their own heads. Normand Marineau also is just a straight up beast and built for playoffs. It doesnt matter when or where but whenever he speaks the whole team stops and listens to what he has to say. Always says the right thing at the right time to rally the team. Colorado is getting ready for the playoffs.

Option 2:

Well now that Atlanta is sitting in the top spot of the league, they want to hang onto that. The team had a weird start to the season, going 50% win rate for awhile, but the team has really dug in and found their usual dominance that they had last season. And for Paul Bondage, it is a bit of a weird situation. The harder he tries to make those fancy offensive moves, the worse his team does. He has found that when he just sticks to defense first and playing simple hockey, getting pucks in deep, that is when the team is truly dominant. Atlanta has an absolute cannon of offense in their forwards, and Paul Bondage does not even really need to help them out by trying to get goals on his own. He has found that as long as he's keeping the puck out of their end of the ice and sharing the puck around in their zone, good things will come.

Inge Baardsen isn’t really a showman or much of a talker, in a leadership sense. He much prefers to do his talking on the ice, whether in training, where he sets the example by working as hard as he can and hoping younger players step up and match his ethic, or on the ice proper. He likes to work hard for his linemates and is happy to get his hands dirty, doing the dirtier work, while his teammates capitalise on it. He will forecheck, backcheck, try and win that puck, especially if he can get physical and throw a hit. We know he had it in him in the minors, where he was SMJHL hit leader two seasons in a row. He doesn’t throw his weight around nearly so much now, but he will still drop a hip or leave a shoulder in, enough to take out the opponent and get his team fired up!

Written Option 2: Even though the intensity of games usually picks up during the playoffs for many teams the push to make it to the playoffs, to get better seeding or to fight for those important points that determine draft order means that now is the last moment for teams and players to up their game. In the end you win or lose as a team so what does your player do to help their teammates to push their game to the next level? What even can be done this late into the season? Do they lead by example, pushing themselves as hard as they can and hoping rest do the same? Have a motivational speech or two? Come up with some team building exercises or activities out of the regular training? Host shared dinners among the whole team from here on out? How does your player help their team to get ready for playoffs?
The San Francisco Pride are no strangers to pressure, and no strangers to finding success in the wake of that pressure. Oskar has been a member of the Pride since his first SHL season back in S72 and as one of the long term veterans in the room he's snuggled in to his role nicely as a 2nd line complementary scorer with leadership capabilities. Not known for being the most vocal guy in the room, Oskar typically leads by example. He does the little things each day whether it be staying late after a practice to work on his skating or squeezing in an extra workout session in the gym to maintain his high level of physical prowess. As San Francisco enters the final stretch of the season they find themselves atop the league once again. This isn't uncharted territory for the 3 time Challenge Cup champs and the one thing Oskar and the rest of the Pride need to do is not get lost in the moment and remind themselves that they haven't won anything yet this season and it's practically a clean slate again when the puck drops for the playoffs.

Option 1:

In their final game of the season, the Edmonton Blizzard will take on the Montreal Patriotes in a match that won't affect either team's finish all that much. It will be their second meeting of the season, with the Blizzard having beat the Patriotes 6-4 in an upset early in the year. Tempers ran high that game from the start, as Edmonton took an interference penalty early in the game which quickly led to a goal against, then immediately took a hooking call in the following minutes. In that penalty, Edmonton ended up scoring shorthanded in a controversial play, as Effo gained possession in the Blizzard zone and passed the puck up to Roccamontepiano on the blue line, he raced down the ice with a Montreal defender one step behind. Coming in on goaltender Song Ju-gong, Roccamontepiano made a move but lost his balance, maybe on his own but it also could have been from the crosscheck he received from the Montreal defender, and fell into the opposing goalie. From behind the play, Olafur Atlason skated in and roofed the puck above the ensuing dogpile in the Montreal crease, leading to a controversially allowed goal after review for goalie interference. Luckily Song Ju-gong was not injured from the play, but the Montreal bench was furious regardless. We'll see if these emotions carry over to game 66 in Edmonton, for the closing game of season 81.

Written Option 2

At this point in the season, Oliver Cornwall has accepted that maybe this won’t be his breakout season and he needs to put a much bigger emphasis on being a good locker room guy. Fortunately, he is well known far and wide for being a great “motivational” speaker. Oliver does a great job of reminding Louis Belanger @Popol that he needs to go to the gym to get strong, but being a winger, Louis is physically incapable of obtaining any significant degree of strength. Alternatively, Oliver is a great source of inspiration for the New England Goalie Five-Hole Sieve @G2019 when he yells at him for letting in a goal that Oliver screened and deflected after allowing a cross crease pass for a one-timer. Of course, this is entirely the fault of the goalie and the perfect pristine sophomore defender can do no wrong. So, Oliver shall continue to “motivate” his teammates with elite tier heckling from his traditional position as the grocery post.

Marsh would get into a fight in a game vs. QCC. Haven't have the opportunity to face them in the playoffs yet but in a constant battle for top seed during the regular season.

Frustration would boil over and instead of taking it out on Anchorage for knocking Newfoundland out past two seasons it would be directed to the Champs in Quebec.

It would not be a fair fight and Marsh would definitely instigate it by taking a run at Leon Dojkic which results in an easy game misconduct call. The smaller Shiny Rainbow would step in to defend his teammate who has been so integral to his success in the goal department. This would be by design and while Rainbow isn't exactly small at 6 feet he would still be at a disadvantage vs the 6'3 Marsh. Fight would end with a decisive victory for Marsh but cost the team as they spend the rest of the game killing penalties for the reckless play.
