Task 4:

PM Sent to Pris

---

If you are a player in the Challenge/Four Star Cup: How is your player feeling for the Finals? Are they nervous or excited? Are they ready? Write at least 150 words about the few days before the beginning of the Finals for your player and how they prepared for the series.

I'm playing in the Challenge Cup, and this is an interesting question to answer. On the one hand, I am nervous - I've never been to the Challenge Cup before and have been knocked out of the playoffs each of my SHL seasons before even getting to the Challenge Cup. I've never been in this position, so it's tough. On the other hand, I have a lot of experience and shouldn't play poorly due to nerves; I've won multiple medals, including Gold, in IIHF play, and I also am a Four Star Cup champ, and runner up. I've been in similar games, but not at this level. I am extremely comfortable and confident in my team, though. We've been firing on all cylinders this season, especially as we're heading into the finals. We have a lot of experience to help with our overall Challenge Cup inexperience, with a lot of veterans leading the way and calming the entire team down.

---

TASK SIX: Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

Honestly, I think this is going to have to be a battle of goalies. We're looking at Timo Haas and Olli O'Koivu, two goalies that have a lot of experience. Through the first two rounds, O'Koivu's 91% save percentage and 2.68 goals against average is very solid, but Haas posted a 94% save percentage and 1.89 goals against average in the same amount of games played.

This series is going to be the battle of the goalies, though, and one key factor is how the team plays in front of each of those goalies. During the regular season, O'Koivu finished similarly to playoffs, posting a 91% save percentage and 2.73 goals against average; Timo Haas has surged in the playoffs, evident by his regular season stats: 92% save percentage and 2.43 goals against average. If Haas continues to play lights out as he has in the playoffs, he'll be the difference maker. If he starts to play like regular-season Haas, this is going to be a very close series.

---

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

Up to this point, my vote for unsung hero has to be Timo Haas. He played a very solid regular season, and was one of the many cogs in the wheel for Los Angeles to make the playoffs. His regular season stats - 92% save percentage, 2.43 goals against average, and 22 wins are very impressive for any goaltender.

However, Haas has turned up his game and become a veritable wall in net for Los Angeles. In his first 8 games of the playoffs, he's gone a stellar 7-1-0, but more impressive is the 94% save percentage he's put up. Clearly he has been a monster - 94% in the playoffs is beastly! He's also allowed a total of only 16 goals again (1.89 goals against average) in those 8 games, which has been huge. For his team, as long as they've been able to score, he's been able to help secure a win with his solid play. If he can keep that up in the finals, we're looking at the MVP and an amazing post-season run in net.

TASK ONE: If you are a player in the Challenge/Four Star Cup: How is your player feeling for the Finals? Are they nervous or excited? Are they ready? Write at least 150 words about the few days before the beginning of the Finals for your player and how they prepared for the series.

Well, first of all entering the challenge cup finals has made me super excited. For a team that was fighting for a playoff position during the season, we have done darn well to get up to this point. We faced against the season leader in dragons and defeated them. Then we went on to play against the number 2 team in the league in Jets. We also defeated them. So this may have been a surprise to many but not to me. We have worked tremendously hard for this opportunity and I know that I myself have done and exerted a lot of effort. It is nice to see that it is actually paying off. Win or Lose, I am really proud of what we have accomplished thus far. Now that we are actually in the finals with the Chiefs, I can also say that I am also nervous. Its that good nervous that keeps you at the edge of the seat and keeps pumping adrenaline into your body. I have ran many drills and continued and working on my defensive aspect. I hit the gym and trained 7 days a week and also ate enough to supply my body with the fuel it required. Now, I am just ready to release that adrenaline and nervousness on the ice.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

The unsung hero of the playoffs in my opinion is Danny Foster the mountain himself. The dude has become such a huge part of our team and may even be the pillar of our defense. Coming in this season huge, he has been a pivotal part of the team and has always been our iron wall of defense. The man is an enforcer but a super talented one. PLaying on the first pairing with Herzog, not only has this man scored a ton of point for us (9), but his defensive play is also worth noting. He leads our team in hits at 36 and has also been a terror for opponents with 24 PIM. Haas is probably going to win a ton of awards this season, but in my opinion the one who has made it possible for him is Foster. The man is there to block shots and also take good penalties for the team. He sacrifices himself to protect us and serves penalty minutes. He fights for us and also intimidates our opponents so much that they get scared to step on the ice. He has one of the best fight records in the league and he is just a monster to deal with. This has allowed the rest of us to play without fear and continue doing what we can as we know that we always got our enforcer in Foster, to back us up.

TASK ONE:

It was an early off-season for Esa Anrikkanen and the Dragons, something they don't see often, but hey it happens. This left Esa uncertain on what to do with himself for the next couple weeks. He took a few days to just sleep and rest his old bones, after 22 seasons he needed some time to recover. Once rested up, he obviously went on an eating spree, hitting up all the best restaurants in Calgary, including his own Parm Palace Eatery, he did this for about 5 days, then took a trip with best friend and teammate Nicholas Pedersen. Esa and Pederen went to New York City and embarked on a deli tour. They hit up all the best deli’s in New York and some others that they followed on Instagram, one of them was Anthony & Son’s Panini shop in Brooklyn, Esa and Pedersen put a real hurting on the place, it was delicious. After gorging themselves for a week in NY, Esa and Peds hopped on a plane back to Calgary and would have to get their old asses in shape for the S40 season. [150+]

TASK TWO:

My choice for unsung hero of the playoffs, is Timo Haas, he’s been nothing short of incredible through the first 2 rounds of the playoffs, knocking off Calgary, where he barely allowed any goals in 4 games, then taking out Winnipeg with another dominant performance. Haas posted an astounding 1.89 GAA and .941 SV% through the first 8 games of the playoffs where he went 7-1. Literally one of the best post-season runs by a goalie I have ever seen. Anytime to leada 4th place team to dominant series victories over the #1 and #2 teams in the west in consecutive rounds you deserve a lot of credit. LA is a great team as any team who makes the playoffs in the always tough western conference is, but Haas has really stepped up his game and has to be the hero of the playoffs so far for them and any team for that matter. If LA is to win the cup, they will do so on the shoulders of Timo Haas. He managed to build off an great regular season and play even better in the playoffs. Very impressive. [150+]

TASK FOUR: Pm'd

TASK SIX:

If I had to pick a player from each team who needed to stand out and be an MVP candidate in order for his team to win the cup, I’d definitely have to pick both goalies. Timo Haas from Los Angeles and Olli O’Koivu from Minnesota. Goaltending is so huge in the post-season, it honestly makes the biggest difference, especially in the finals. If you start the playoffs with a hot goalie you can ride him all the way to the cup. If you’re goalie plays poorly or our face a hot goalie then you’re not going to be in the post-season very long. Sure your team has to play well also, but a great goaltending performance can make up for pretty much anything in the playoffs. Both Haas and O’Koivu have been two of the best goalies in the playoffs and that’s way they find themselves in the finals. Whichever goalie can hold it together and out-perform the other in the 7 game series will most likely win the Anton Razov trophy as playoffs MVP. Therefore my prediction is Timo Haas or Olli O’Koivu as MVP. [150+]

Romualds Loks was very quickly eliminated by Vancouver Whalers and his childhood friend Jean-Luc Picard in a quick 4-0 fashion. Although the Latvian forward was pretty gutted and sad, he decided to use his savings to travel to all the games Vancouver Whalers played in. It was a very fun adventure as the Vancouver Whalers really performed like a cup-winning team and won Colorado 4-1 in the semi-finals and then played in the finals only to be stopped in game 6 by St.Louis. After the game both players met up and decided to take the first flight to Los Angeles to see the game 6 of the SHL finals which would start the next day and what a game it was. The Championship winners were in the end Minnesota Chiefs who overcame the home team in a very confident fashion. The game both players saw was a huge inspiration for their future careers in the SHL.

I think despite Vancouver falling short and not winning the Four Star cup you have to look at the fantastic performances their defense were showing every game in a row consequently. Four of their players are leading the hits total in the play-off series one of them one of them a defender at his absolute best Dany Mele who racked up 35 hits total and and 10 points as a defender. Also 3rd in play-offs with 21 shots blocked I think Dany is one of the players who fought with tears, blood and sweat to get this Four Star Cup but fell short. Hopefully he manages to continue this impressive run of form. Another player I would like to mention from Vancouver is Jean Luc Picard who scored the 2nd most points (6) among rookies this season during play-offs and was only trumped by his own team's Eri Arai by one single point. Such an impactful start for the young French/Latvian defenseman!

I won't be coming up with any surprises or major predictions - when it comes down to the SHL Finals you're looking for the best players that can perform consequently and do what needs to be done in intense pressure both home and away. Having looked at the SHL Regular Season stats to get some idea about players' consistency I was surprised to see that both teams lack any players in the TOP10 scorers of the season which really shows that it's not all about scoring and getting those points in. Minnesota will be definitely looking for some top notch performances from their star right wings Sebastian Strange and Terrance Nova, 51 and 47 points respectively. Those are also the only players you will see on forward top10 tables in the league. Defensively both teams have one player in the top10's the Panthers Felix Herzog (8+34) and Minnesota's Mattias Holmerg (11+29). I genuinely think that the ability to maintain the regular season form into the final stretch of the season will determine the fate of the S39 Challenge Cup.

Leafer Rielly was disappointed with the performance in the playoffs He was so upset that he went home and just slept straight days without talking to anyone. When he finally realized its not over, he decided to have fun with his teammates like John Langabeer Jr, Alex Light, Finn Kruger and Beaujeaux Biscuit. We decided to have some fun and get SHL out of our damn heads because it will just make us stress. We went to beaches which is not rare as fuck in Florida, we went to casinos and we of course went to night club and went fully drunk. It is who we are. Later on when the finals are over, there will be training but other wise, this whole offseason is just relaxing, chilling and not thinking a single thing about hockey because hockey is bad for life. Stupid of Rielly to do it but it is what it is.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

My choice for the unsung hero is from the Minnesota Chiefs who is of course, the legendary Mattias Holmberg. He has worked his ass of all his career and getting to this stage. Without him, the chiefs wouldn't be in the finals. He has 6 points in 8 games before the finals included but he is not just offensive, he is also defensive. He hits, block shots, stick checks and does it perfectly. He is a legend and chiefs should be happy Holmberg is on the team. He can do anything like pass, score and defend. The WKP Legend deserves to be honoured for what he has done for the team instead of a guy like Garbanzo. He is not doing this for himself but he is doing this for his team and desperate for that Challenge Cup. If the chiefs win the challenge, just thank holmberg for his eliteness.

From the chiefs, it is pretty close but the player standing out for the chiefs is none other than Terrance Nova. He himself having a great career and getting to this stage, he is obviously the best player on the team. He is an obvious goal scorer and who just scored a hat trick in the finals and leading his team to the right path. He is a great leader in the locker room and great presence on the ice. Will not be surprised to see him be the MVP of the SHL Playoffs. Sophia Bennett has been great. She is everything. She can do anything and one of the reason the Panthers actually went passed the Jets in the conference finals. Now I do not know shit about the finals results but still, I am always right and I am never wrong. So Bennett is the best player and standing out for the Panthers.

How has your player kicked off their offseason? Are they traveling? Meeting up with friends and partying? Following the games? Write at least 150 words about the beginning of your player’s offseason. Must include at least one other player.

It's been a fun offseason so far. Forsberg has been consulting on how Team Sweden should be setup as well as plying his trade racing cars in the Scoracing league. After what was a heartbreaking sweep at the hands of the LA Panthers, I haven't really been keeping up with what was happening in the SHL playoffs. Couldn't bear to watch. Anyways, Forsberg and Joe K took a well needed vacation to the Turks and Caico's to try to brainstorm what went wrong, what could be improved on and to rest and rejuvenate their worn out bodies before training camp starts anew signaling another long season ahead. It was a great time to just relax, hit the beach, get fruity drinks delivered to you as your lapping up all the lovely sun rays that you don't see much of in Calgary. All in all, the offseason has been a relaxing and enjoyable time but that's not to say I wish it wouldn't have started a few weeks later.

Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

This is an easy one for me. Sophia Bennett has been one of my favorite players since entering the league a season after me and she's continued to blow me away with how productive she is. This playoffs wasn't her coming out party, per say, but a tip of the cap to what is turning into a dominant player in the SHL. Despite shooting at a mere 10%, she's tied for the team lead in goals with 8 which is saying something on a strong LA Panthers roster. On top of that, she's leading her team in shots as well as tied for 2nd on her team in plus minus. All of this adds up to a player that is productive, probably even a bit unlucky, but still when she is out there on the ice good things are happening more often than not for the Panthers. Nearly a PPG as the playoffs conclude, there is really no doubt that Sophia Bennett is my winner for the unsung hero of the S39 Playoffs.

Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

This one is going to be all about the most important players to their team, the goalies. Tons of offensive firepower, tons of future HoF'ers on both rosters somewhat cancel each other out but the team that emerges victorious is going to need their superstar goalie to stand on their head night in, night out. Olli O'Koivu and Timo Haas are both the cream of the crop so this goalie matchup is going to be one of the best we have seen in the past dozen or so seasons. Despite knowing the outcome at the time of writing this, gun to my head I would have predicted a minimum of 6 games because both goalies are good enough to steal one or two for their respective teams. I also anticipated a lower scoring series than we saw but again, when each team has generational firepower, goals are gonna be scored no matter who is between the pipes. This one was one for the ages and is certainly a defining moment in both goalies careers and legacies.

TASK ONE: ...If not: How has your player kicked off their offseason? Are they traveling? Meeting up with friends and partying? Following the games? Write at least 150 words about the beginning of your player’s offseason. Must include at least one other player.

Goaltender Beaujeaux Biscuit of the West Kendall Platoon has kicked off this offseason with some unorthodox training activities. First off he decided that the SHL's statistic website was hot garbage, and decided to learn some programming just to make a better website. You can check it out at beaujeauxbeaux.azurewebsites.net (i think). It's a lot more fun of an experience than people think. He has also been learning to program how to drive a race car. Fellow teammate, Alex Light, has introduced him to the world of short track racing. While Beaujeaux himself is unable to race, he is able to train his loveable cat, Pushkin, to race instead. Pushkin is currently 12th in the standings, almost 30 higher than this Bower person who some have started calling the caboose of stock car racing. Regardless, Beaujeaux has had a great time this offseason. Now that his senpai, Bojo, has stepped down as GM, it gives him a lot of time to enjoy the little things in life.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

The unsung hero for the playoffs in my opinion would be the foward from the Los Angeles Panthers, Sophia Bennett. Playing in her third SHL season, her progress has steadily improved each year. This season she was able to score 17 goals for her best SHL season yet, and will likely score even more next season. She was an important piece of the series sweep against Calgary by opening the first game with a goal and an assist. You could even argue that she was the MVP of that whole series, one of the biggest upsets in SHL history. Before the series with Minnesota, Bennett leads all players with 7 goals and 5 assists while also topping the leaderboards in many other categories such as shots, points per 20, and power play goals. Bennett is clearly a fan favorite in LA with her uprising play, and the Panthers have a star to look forward to in the future regardless of what happens in the finals.

TASK FOUR

==================================
TASK SIX: Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

The Minnesota Chiefs will likely take home the MVP trophy for the series. They have so many likely candidates such as Sebastian Strange, Terrance Nove, the legends Lord Pretty Flacko and Alonzo Garbonzo. On paper, the Chiefs have so much firepower that it will be hard to stop them, as they have demonstrated in their previous two series against the Platoon and Wolfpack, losing only one game. However, a suprise hit could be Mr. SHL journeyman, Jonathan Lundberg. He's been an essential piece of the special teams racking up big minutes in both power plays and penalty kills, while also packing a punch with most hits this postseason.

Meanwhile, the Panthers have been able to lean on their star goaltender this post season, and it's likely to rest on his shoulders some more for his final test. While the Panthers have been competent on their own, Haas has been able to let them sleep easy while he stands on his head saving shot after shot.

I have been drinking a fuckton since the Kelwona Knights got eliminated in the 1st round again. But it is ok, I have been doing some team bondage exercises with Both Richard Physt and Brock Becker. While Kelowna doesnt have too many bars, we kind of just made our own in Nour’s closet. Poor Samee also ended up coming because he retired because his player was doing really poor and he was getting wekt off of the regression. For Samee, I hear he is planning to make a new winger and hopefully he will get drafted by Kelowna. He was drunkingly rambling about him going into the hall of fame, but it is too early to tell. Not to mention he will prob go to Kelowna and Seattle, and I dont know how impactful winning is to make it to the Hall Of Fame in the SHL. Overall we are having a great time just chilling in the long off season with Happy juice.

Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

Brock fucking Becker. Poor guy had the hardest season out of anyone on Kelowna. We legit got murdered in our first two games but the final two games he kept it close. To end the regular season he had 17 points and a depressing -10 +/- rating. He was not having a great time. He got moved off Dorty’s line mid season and his scoring took a massive hit because of that. His time in playoffs was a complete 180. He had 4 points in 4 games with a goal and 3 assists to boot. While he still had a -1 +/- rating, overall it was a huge improvement and literally nobody is giving him credit. He did finish 2nd in scoring on the team and only took a minor penalty. Brock did good during the playoffs and if he shows some of that come regular season he will be very well off come season 40.

TASK SIX: Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

Otis B. Driftwood seems like the kind of guy I want in my team’s corner. While points wise he isn’t doing anything crazy, but he does have a crazy high +/- rating even though he is a rookie! He had 6 +/- and that is sick for a rookie and his 3 points are ok. He stands out because he a rookie. He should be crying in a corner. But he is one game away from winning a cup, something that most players do not get to see. Driftwood will need to keep up his great defense in order to bring a cup home! Gabriel Wong is leading the playoffs in points with 19. The next closest are his teammates. Nothing wong with this because he is going ham in these playoffs. For sure will win MVP and will really need to continue his current form to take home a four star cup.

After she (somewhat) gets over the crushing disappointment that goes along with exiting the playoffs without a Challenge Cup, Mia Landvik looks to the bright side of the situation: more time to prepare for her wedding to Mikko Linna. Unfortunately, they've been together for seven years and engaged for three, so in terms of preparation, there really isn't much left to do except double check every single booking and... wait.

As anyone who knows her could tell you, Mia is not the most patient person in the world. If it weren't for Mikko reminding her how long they spent on the seating charts for their reception dinner, she would definitely drag him to a courthouse to just Get This Shit Done Already. As it is, Mia spends most of her time at the beginning of the offseason keeping an eye on her Norwegian boys in the finals, getting ready for IIHF, and hanging out with Mikko.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

Heading into game five of the Eastern Conference finals between the Minnesota Chiefs and the New England Wolfpack, the unsung hero of the S39 SHL Challenge Cup playoffs up to this point is undoubtedly Chiefs defenceman Isak Ødegård. Despite playing just over 18 minutes per game on the second pair, the young Norwegian has only posted 2 points in 8 games played (0.27 points per 20). Don't worry, Chiefs fans, it's not points that make Ødegård such a valuable player: it's his Cuteness Factor, which clocks in at an astounding 14.48 cooing noises per 20.

Ødegård clearly has no qualms sacrificing his body in the name of the game, considering his 11 shots blocked (which may actually be evidence of a defensively responsible young man, but that's not what this writeup is about), but fans should be more concerned with what that means for his face. After all, Cuteness Factor has been known to increase team morale exponentially, especially during playoff season. If the Chiefs are going to defeat the Wolfpack (who have their own Cute Boi in Cameron Dubois) and move on to win the Cup, Ødegård is going to need to continue his stellar Cute performance so far.

TASK FOUR pm'd

TASK SIX: Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

Both the Minnesota Chiefs and the Los Angeles Panthers are SHL teams that boast rosters full of young players, held together by the experience and leadership of a few face-of-the-franchise veterans, and it's those team compositions that make the S39 Challenge Cup Final can't-miss playoff hockey. The Chiefs and Panthers have known quantities in players who have been around for a decade or more like Alonzo Garbanzo and Felix Herzog, but they also have talent who are just entering their prime like Minnesota defenceman Fedor Shirobokov and Panthers winger Sophia Bennett. When it comes to series MVP, it's those young upstarts we expect to see taking risks out there on the ice--and, as we all know, with great risk comes great reward. With both of these teams chomping at the bit to win a Challenge Cup for the first time in many of the players' careers, make sure to tune in to see whether our prediction that these young players put their best foot forward comes true.

Task One

Off-Season Blues

The off-season got off to a rough start for Karsten Kadinger, as he saw his available practice time in the rink cut in a major way. Usually a workaholic, Kadinger has been virtually forced by training staff and coaches to, in their word, “get a life.” Kadinger’s response to this has been to visit fellow SMJHL’er Liam O’Callaghan to discuss their thoughts on the SHL at large. This went poorly as O’Callaghan was in the midst of his feud with Seattle, but eventually he calmed down and the two had a relatively even discussion.

Having fulfilled his friend quota, Kadinger then returned home to Colorado where he began to search for information with regards to his SHL future in the only place that one can really trust for such things: Twitter. For the past several days, Kadinger has been searching high and low on the profiles of purported experts attempting to glean whether he’ll be living in Colorado or Florida next year. He complained over the phone to the aforementioned O’Callaghan about not knowing which it would be, to which he replied, “At least neither of those is Seattle.”

Task Two

Unsung Hero

The SHL is a league populated from top to bottom with players that could be considered unsung heroes, given the sheer volume of players who perform excellently but are given no real accolades for it. Our pick for Unsung Hero is a man who has experienced that same feeling some seasons, while actually having ascended to the ranks of notoriety in others. Pedro Sarantez is at the very end of his career, and he returned to Minnesota to do it, participating in their run to the Challenge Cup Finals. For the Chiefs fan-base, Sarantez is far from an unknown: but his contributions have not been recognized quite as much as they should be.

Sure, Sarantez isn’t breaking any records this season, but for a player as old as he is, notching 9 points in the playoffs is actually a very respectable contribution. More notable, while he’s only scored three goals, one of those was a game winner and one of those was a game tying goal. He’s also managed to be a plus throughout the post-season, with a plus two, and has been a source of offense from deep in the line-up that every team needs to push themselves over the edge. His physical presence is non-existent with only 7 hits, and he doesn’t block shots much, but as a necessary depth player and clutch performer, Sarantez has to be our pick.

Task Six

MVP

This series has had a lot of potential MVPs, a testament to just how exciting it’s been for fans. However, in narrowing them down to two, we’ve come up with one name from each team. These are:

Lord Pretty Flacko - Minnesota Chiefs

This one is a bit of an unlikely choice for some, as although he tied in points with Terrance Nova, he scored far less goals -- a statistic that is generally weighted higher than assists. However, while Nova’s performance was one for the ages, Scorers like Lundberg and Strange came close to matching his goal totals, and it was largely because of Flacko. Flacko managed 19 points in 15 games, and of those 19 points, 16 were assists and only 3 were goals. Flacko may not have been scoring very much, but he effectively created his team’s offense. As far as an MVP award goes? That’s pretty obvious.

Jean-Luc Reflieux - Los Angeles Panthers

Reflieux was really an all-around force for the Panthers. He scored 18 points, 7 goals and 11 assists for a fairly even spread, and led his team in the +/- category with plus nine. He actually played a surprisingly physical game and undoubtedly logged big minutes for the Panthers, forming the key component of their offense. While the Panthers, like the Chiefs, benefitted from a team-wide effort, Reflieux stood out as the clear star on the team in a way that Flacko did not from the Chiefs. Between the two, Flacko edges Reflieux out slightly, speaking to the depth that the Chiefs brought forward this season.

Task one:
Maximilian Wächter has reached the final for the first time in his entire career. It was a long journey until this date and so I am very happy to be here. A shot at the cup is all i wanted, when i left Buffalo two years ago and now the big chance is here for me. I am not pretty sure if I am just nervous or only excited about the final. I guess it is pretty much a good mix of both. Reaching the finals for the first time is always a hell of an experience. I will change more or less nothing in my game preparation, I will do the same like I did for the other playoffs game. Eat a plate full of spaghetti or lasagna, still love them even when it was a little bit too much the last days. One thing I will change is that I will take two shots of Whisky instead of one before the game.

Task two:
The finals are done and the Minnesota Chiefs have beat the Los Angeles Panthers in 4-2 games. In Minnesota there are now a lot of heroes, so the unsung hero have to be in Los Angeles. Don't know if he really is a unsung hero, but for sure he is a tragically hero. Going into his last season before retirement, playing his best games ever and go out with nothing. Its pretty clear that I am talking about LA's top goalie Timo Haas. Timo played a phenomenal season and got even better by start of the playoffs. He carried the LA Panthers on his shoulders against the top teams of Calgary and Winnipeg. In the finals his outstanding play wasn't enough, but at the end he can look back and say, I did what I could to win. He finished with great stats 0,917 save % and 2,59 GAA and 1 shoot out. That only put him behind the Challange Cup winning goalie Olli O'Koivu.

Task six:
You could easily say the guy that earned the MVP status for Los Angeles is Timo Haas, with no doubt you are right with this. But he is not the guy that should have stand up alone and fight for it. There are multiple other as well. Some of LA's player did stand up as well like Jean-Luc Reflieux, Nicolas Winter, Sophia Bennett or Danny Foster. But guys like Maximilian Wächter, how definitely have had the potential to get a playoff MVP was hiding in the shadows. Very well known for his physical style of play pared with a solid scoring touch couldn't do that step. Leading the league in hits during the regular season he stopped hitting as much as he did to save some pims, but also lost the fear his opponents had from him. Looking at Minnesota, I can only choose a MVP, because I have no idea what the stats have been before the finals. So my MVP candidate is Lord Pretty Flacko. The veteran leader of the Chiefs showed how it is done in the playoffs. Finished first in points tied with team mate Terrance Nova.

Task 1
Chris Smulander offseason has been very long now at this point since Siettle Riot is under a rebuild and team is pretty bad. Chris decided that best thing for him to fo is travel litle bit around the globe with his best friend and idol growing up Samee Iqbakalahd, even though he is a defender and not a good one, Chris looked up to him because he loved how hard working Iqbakal is. So after season they bouth decided to visit Russia witch is right next to home of Chris homecountry Latvia. Chris introduced Samuel to borsch and belasch. To say the least Samuel wasn't excactly ok with taste of those two. While Samuel Iqbakal had diarhea from this Russian food Chris heard something like "I hate you Smulander, for f**k sake, I will ask for a trade after this" Have no idea of that was correct, but that's how two weeks in Russia went for Smulander and Iqbakalalnh Samee

Task 1 -

Having an earlier exit from the SMJHL playoffs than expected, Gary Grease and Wuma Duce decided to have some fun and take a trip down to Mexico. Duce, a huge fan of Mexican food, and Grease, a huge fan of food, decided to try to tour the country and try all sorts of flavors. Unfortunately, while drinking at a dive bar just an hour into their trip, Duce managed to piss off a ranking member of a local cartel. No one is sure what exactly he said, but Grease is pretty sure he overheard something abou a donkey show and the gentleman's mother. Grease quickly realized what was going on, and decided that they should probably get out of the country as fast as possible. Grease grabbed Duce and was able to arrange for the two of them to be smuggled back across the border into the States, where Grease promptly knocked some sense into Duce. Duce has already mentioned going back after S40 comes to a close.

Task 6

The MVP discussion comes down to two people, really. First, we have star goalie Timo MVP Haas. Haas put up amazing stats all season, and continued to do so in the Finals. With some stellar saves, clutch performances, and some amazing hair, Haas should definitely take home the MVP award for the Finals. Any team would be lucky to have him and his silky smooth smile. Rumor has it, if he won the MVP award he was even going to donate it to a local orphanage, in order to show kids that winning is possible no matter what happens in life. No one is really sure why he picked an orphanage, but they didn't question it either. The other option is Terrance Nova. Great player, great background, great stats, just great. Honestly, just say the guys name. Terrance Nova. If that doesn't sound like an MVP name, I don't know what does. He plays big minutes, important minutes, and has a nasty wrist shot to boot. Bonafide stallion.

Task 2

There's always a lot of talk about unsung heroes in playoff series. The guy that no one expects to come in clutch. The guy that is there during the season, but shows up big time once the playoffs start. I'm talking the one and only, Danny Foster. For a defenseman, he puts up a surprising amount of points. Points are always good, because having more points than the other team is kinda important in this sport, but Foster is big somewhere else. Foster lays out the hits. In a league that is getting softer and speedier by the day, Foster is dishing put the big hits and making the other team scared to be on the ice with him. An anonymous source even said that he heard one of Foster's opponents say that he needed a safe space while Foster is on the ice. If that doesn't show that the big hits can be series changing, I don't know what does. Foster is definitely the unsung hero of the playoffs, and is setting out to Make Hockey Great Again.
