Kinda just want to say that this whole fiasco has really affected my view of the league as a whole. I'm still staying, because I love what SHL does, but I feel like there are fewer and fewer people I actually like every week.
There's a difference between making a joke and being immature and inappropriate. I'd suggest some of you learn to distinguish between the two. You can't say or do shit that's way out of line and then try to defend it with "but it was only a joke." Life doesn't work like that, and while I won't be the first person to jump in and call you on it, it shouldn't go without repercussions here.
But, that's just, like.. my opinion, man.
In the end, this is a sim league. It is a fake hockey league online that in no way affects your "real" life. Whether you agree with everything they do or not, the people who run the league put a lot of time and effort into making sure this site continues to run season after season. Don't shit all over it with things like this.
As an aside: If this thread was the first thing I saw as a new member (which is actually a possibility, given that it's in the Announcements forum), I would never have even considered coming back to this site.

I use the SHL to relax, escape the stress of my real world, have fun and be with hockey minded people who share the same interests in me.
I shouldn't have to come on here just to stress out and fret about things that really have no impact on my life, really.
This is for fun. Find meaning in your lives and work towards something that actually matters, like your career or school work. Save this site for the fun times, not spending hours bickering and fighting over what he or she said to him or her or this or that.
Just have fun. And if someone says something to you, shrug it off. That's life. People hate. Most of the time it's not even about you, they're dealing with something in their own lives they wanna project onto you.
Thick skin, you need it in this world. Grow it.
