Remove SHL PT Caps?

And just so I'm clear, we're talking 150 not including your TPs, Workouts, etc. That is simply potential Milestones, PBP - things that aren't on this list

Initial TPE
Rookie Only TPE bonuses
Equipment
Point Tasks
Training
Training Camp
Activity Check

or 150 is basically the absolute max TPE one can get in a year, all hands in?

150 is the rough average per season you get total

Maybe cap how many weekly trainings instead of PT's. Hmm

I don't like this at all, because it reduces the incentive for people to log in every week. Which is my problem with PT caps too--why punish activity?

If we put someone in charge of watching how much TPE is awarded each season from all the various ways you can get it, there's no reason in my mind we should cap (except for rookies, as has been discussed).

Ok so with 150 being an average good year, included with a PT cap. I'm going to assume you mean a good SHL year, but the milestones and random TPE pay evenly to Jrs so I'll assume that the Milestone/Misc is a set number for practical purposes that is basically the sum of all non-expected TPE and wouldn't change because you happened to get rookie bonuses.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VE3...ld9E/edit#gid=0

So, you could build a very very good player if you hit 150 every year.

Code:
CK = 75 *weak*
FG = 25
DI = 70
SK = 99
ST = 85
EN = 90
PH = 99
FO = 64
PA = 99
SC = 90
DF = 80
PS =

TPE : 1528
Used: 1528
Bank: 0

But that would basically be your peak. Then you'd begin regression, and at 1528, regression will keep pace with any improvements.

Either way, the real question is, how good of a player are you comfortable with a player being able to become at what point?

Code:
CK = 70 *weak*
FG = 25
DI = 65
SK = 83
ST = 75
EN = 75
PH = 75
FO = 52
PA = 90
SC = 90
DF = 80
PS =

TPE : 802
Used: 802
Bank: 0

This is a player who gets every single TPE starting his 5th pre-season training camp.

It just seems like a 'how good should even the most committed players be' scenario and work back from there. If players with 800 TPE going into season 5 seems right to you, then just make it easier on yourself by removing the caps and not offering more TPE than your budget can withstand. You know which ones won't change, Activity Checks and Max Workouts, and if people don't do them, that's on them, but assuming they do, you can decide what the max skill level of any aged player should reasonably be and work backwards from there. If it means reducing TPE in PTs, it's easier than tracking a cap, and it keeps the whole league in check.

Except the rookie cap, which makes sense.

I think you're missing a season <a href='index.php?showuser=2199' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>morphinecv</a>. Wouldn't the SMJHL year put you at 17-1800ish (or did you include that I didn't do the math).

Just thinking because saying the fifth season is 800 is slightly inaccurate. I'm over 1,000 entering my fifth year after being drafted into the SHL, essentially halfway through my career. I've played 6 seasons (1 pre draft 5 post draft), so that's about the mid-point of a career you're looking for

PTs in my opinion don't do much to help actual site activity, which is why I'm fine with capping them. Gives people who aren't on every day to at least keep somewhat on pace with TPE whores like myself.

Depends on how you're reading it. I actually assumed this super keener would be so into the game that he would be at the SHL level starting S3, if that's what you mean by missing year.

If you mean the TPE discrepancy, over 1,000 entering your fifth year? Into the SHL? But one in the SMJHL, right? I was counting from draft, so going into your 6th year I'd have expected 952, and I know there was some changes in TPE distribution recently via the posts in here, so that might be the excess, you landing some pre-draft, then SMJHL year, then 4 in SHL

Right, so, what Eggy is saying is that in his fifth season since his SHL draft, or his sixth season on the site, he's at 1000 TPE.

I am at my fourth season since my SHL draft, or my fifth season on the site, and at the beginning of this season I was a bit over 800. So your math is correct if by fifth you meant fifth season on the site, not fifth season in the SHL. I think it's just a semantics thing?

ya, exactly. Neither are wrong, I'm just counting from pre-draft
