The problem is that Wally and Tweedle have been VERY loose with their pick management. We had their first last draft. We have one in S38. Toronto has one in S39. So we're looking at Portland being without a 1st round pick in S37, S38, S39, S40 and S41. Along with a lesser interest in the team if the players stick around (unless the new GM tandem is very well regarded around the site AND can sell the teams plans to vets).

So yeah, it's not a death sentence. But Portland has gone from a Western Conference favorite to a dumpster fire overnight. Dark times are ahead for that team and I can see a lot of vets wanting out.

With that being said. I'm not sad. The Portland circlejerk has been seasons long now and it's nice to see it coming crashing down. Behind the jerk seemed to be a mountain of lies and disloyalty.

The 1sts for those trades were the real crime. A 1st for a player's rights and 2 1sts to move up in a super deep draft is simply bad trade self-analysis.

The problem is that Wally and Tweedle have been VERY loose with their pick management. We had their first last draft. We have one in S38. Toronto has one in S39. So we're looking at Portland being without a 1st round pick in S37, S38, S39, S40 and S41. Along with a lesser interest in the team if the players stick around (unless the new GM tandem is very well regarded around the site AND can sell the teams plans to vets).

So yeah, it's not a death sentence. But Portland has gone from a Western Conference favorite to a dumpster fire overnight. Dark times are ahead for that team and I can see a lot of vets wanting out.

With that being said. I'm not sad. The Portland circlejerk has been seasons long now and it's nice to see it coming crashing down. Behind the jerk seemed to be a mountain of lies and disloyalty.

If they trade some of the vets away, which probably will happen, they surely won't be without a first in the next five drafts.
