TASK ONE: There are two options for this task.

If you are a player in the Challenge/Four Star Cup: How is your player feeling for the Finals? Are they nervous or excited? Are they ready? Write at least 150 words about the few days before the beginning of the Finals for your player and how they prepared for the series.

If not: How has your player kicked off their offseason? Are they traveling? Meeting up with friends and partying? Following the games? Write at least 150 words about the beginning of your player’s offseason. Must include at least one other player.

After Sven Karlsson cleared out his locker at the end of the Renegades season and got ready to try and wind down for a couple months he knew something felt different. Despite having his best season ever 15 years deep into his career, leaving the arena that night he knew physically and mentally it had taken a toll on him. He ached and hurt just like every player after a tough season of hockey, but weeks into the playoffs and he was still feeling terrible. After a couple of frank conversations with his parents and his wife, Sven made the tough decision to take the step back that everyone does at some point and end his playing career on the ice. Quitting while you're ahead is something that Sven is a firm believer in, and leaving the sport with the things he's achieved under his belt leaves him with no shame. Sven his family decided then to go away for a vacation with his best friends and their families Chris Crutchfield and Ronnie Westbrook. The three took their families out to the Bahamas for a week after the Steelhawks' playoff exit and we're able to unwind and take their minds off things for a little while. There was a message waiting for Sven when he got back, apparently an opening had come up in the Renegades front office...

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

Maximilian Wachter of the LA Panthers has been one of the best power forwards in the league for as long as anyone can remember, there simply isn't anyone in the modern game who can be as dominant physically and skilful as him. Wachter has been on good form again during the playoffs this season, maybe not as headline grabbing as some of his teammates or as exceptional as some of his own performances, but he has been doing what he does best, putting up points and laying people out. Wachter has been point per game to this point, 8 points in 8 games. Add to that 4 goals and 27 hits and you've got one power forward who can get the job done. Wachter has been a great cog in the LAP playoff performance so far and if the team is going to get their way to the cup, Wachter is going to be a huge reason why. A great guy who is universally liked off the ice, Wachter is the definition of an unsung hero.

TASK SIX: Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

In the case of the LA Panthers, Timo Haas is hard to ignore as a potential series MVP. The goaltender seems to have really hit his stride this season but has announced that it will be his last in the league unfortunately, so he's gonna be there with extra motivation to go out and win s cup to round off his career. He's already proved that he can steal wins from other teams and if he's on form the Panthers are gonna be very hard to beat. On the other side of the coin, I like Terrance Nova as a potential MVP for the Chiefs. He's been a great performer during the first two rounds of the playoffs and been quite responsible for how easy Minnesota have managed to get past their opponents. He's going to be a handful for the LA defense and can make a lot happen out of nothing, expect to see him cause a few headaches for the Panthers and play some exciting hockey during the last series of the season.

Unfortunately the offseason started a couple of games earlier than Connor Tanner would have liked. After suffering an unfortunate loss to the Winnipeg Jets, Connor Tanner jetted off to warm San Francisco, Puerto Rico to train alongside the San Francisco Prides young defensemen: Jack Tanner. Though brothers by blood they have a competitive bond between the two of them that go beyond words. Jack has always been the self proclaimed best brother, always one stride faster, one mile per hour harder shot, one extra shot blocked in the season, and now he can brag about being the front runner for the Ryan Jesster award. Connor Tanner though had the ability to brag about how he made the playoffs, unlike his beloved brother. You could tell this absolutely made Jack's blood boil and it was the sweetest victory Connor had ever tasted. Even if just for this season, Connor was superior.

Without a doubt, this seasons unsung hero was Dick Skillstedt of the Minnesota Chiefs.

When you look at his statistics as a whole you may not be impressed, but his TWO ASSISTS in 2.78 MINUTES PER GAME are good for a 0.96 POINT PER 20 those are elite numbers! It was absolutely criminal that Dick was beat around by his management, he deserved to be played with properly. If Dick were used properly these playoffs would have been over in twelve games flat.

Not only did he play at an elite level, at one point Dick Skillstedt shot a BABY as if it were a puck! He is an elite talent and hopefully his team treats him as such this coming season. I expect to see a lot of Skillstedts in next seasons Mexico predictions, anything else would be absolutely criminal to say the least. Dick Skillstedt, you are an AMERICAN HERO you deserve the world. @kingswegu

I reckon it is a bit of a cop out to pick a goalie as the most important part of a championship team, but if your goalie goes cold, no amount of goals is going to save you from the inevitable loss you are about to face. Timo Haas was elite in the first two series posting a save percentage of close to ninety five percent as well as a goals against average of under one and a half goal, but if he can not keep that up it does not matter how well he performed in the first two rounds. On the other side, the Minnesota Chiefs need a big series from stars Alonzo Garbanzo and Lord Pretty Flacko. These two are going to need to put up a lot of points against a red hot goaltender in order to keep their team in this. Best of luck to them.

It's been a longer offseason than Bergen had hoped. After an early exit to the Prince George Firebirds. However, the extended break was somewhat welcome, since entering the league Bergen has barely seen time off. With a busy offseason coming up Bergen has used his time off to return home back to the UK for a week of relaxation, along with catching some EIHL games and catching up with old friends and teammates. There was also work to be done while back home, many meeting took place to discuss the upcoming WJC and IIHF tournament and the UK/EUW teams. After a week away, Bergen returned to the US and had only a short break to catch up with the team before heading off to Puerto Rico for the SHL entry draft. Hosting the Draft coverage is always great fun and getting to catch up with Max and Mikhail after a long season is always welcome.

Since the North Star were eliminated before the playoff, Bobby took some time off and returned to St-Louis to watch the awesome performance the Scarecrows in the SMJHL playoffs. He was really impressed with TheDude performance as a coach. Bobby got the chance to take a few beers with his old teammates and watch how the team developed since he left last season. The locker spirit of the junior team was high and he thought about how to improve himself when returning for Totonto next season.

After this, during his time off, Bobby returned to Australia to work a little, getting the chance to make some money to pay for his continuous training sessions. He had the chance to meet his local media outlet which wrote a little article about his progression and made him a guess star in a 30 minutes show about sport. Bobby is slowly making his way up but he will need a cup if he’s about the rise to the top.

If not: How has your player kicked off their offseason? Are they traveling?

After being eliminated from the playoffs early into the season, Jordin FourFour Jr. has felt this pain numerous times in his life, as a matter of fact he has become accustomed to the feeling. It has become more of a second nature for him. FourFour Jr. always decided to head back home to Calgary, Alberta. The place where his father was born and played through his minor hockey days before settling down in Chicago, Illinois. Down in Calgary it is the midst of the playoff push for the Calgary Flames. FourFour has some connections within the city and has attended most, if not all of the home games he is around for. Watching the plays made by stellar goalie Mike Smith allows him to strengthen his game and ensure he comes back out next season even stronger. FourFour also likes to hit the links and play with Tatu Makela to get his golf game up, but with mass snowfalls around Canada, he has been unable to do so.

The unsung hero for these playoffs has to be Sophia Bennett. Bennett playing in just her second year of play has been a quiet and effective contributor for the Panthers squad. She put up 34 points in the regular season, good for 4th on the team behind long time players, and she had the second highest goals on the team with 17. A young, small, and fast player. Bennett can blow by almost any defenseman in the league and her speed is something that gives the Panthers many scoring chances and she is shooting at a wonderful 11.76% throughout the playoffs allowing her to be the best she can possibly be. Bennett is one of the most optimistic and positive individuals on the Panthers roster, and her attitude on and off the ice is something that cannot be measured, but can be shown through the many wins the Panthers have garnered on their way to the challenge cup finals.

All of these series always have MVPs that emerge through the finals of the playoffs. For the Los Angeles Panthers, I am going to go with Sophia Bennett once again. Her play style on the ice and her ability to blow by defenders with her small frame and high speed is something that is essential to the panthers success. She can put the puck in the net, and she can also make sure that the puck gets up the ice and to her teammates at what seems like her own will. On the Chiefs side you have to go with the former Panther, Sebastian Strange. Strange has been a phenomenal player in this league all the way back to his Panthers days, and he has continued that success with the Chiefs. His 51 points and ability to see the entire ice is something vital to his team, and will allow his team to attempt to win the cup.

1:Luke Atmey has been taking a break from hockey in the off-season. If not for this PT he probably wouldn’t even know who was in the finals! The off-season has uncertainties for Atmey, his team the Manhattan Rage are entering a rebuild which involved a lot of players being moved out. Atmey is unsure how much longer he will be in Manhattan and thus doesn’t want to spend much time thinking about hockey. Instead he has been travelling around Europe with some of his old high school friends. He has also been practicing his Fortnite skills to compete with his teammates during the season. He has also been hitting up the golf course with former Rage teammate Wyatt Wolker. Atmey still is terrible and has no short game. Soon Atmey will come back from his fun and start training for the next season and the IIHF tournament where he will play for Canada.

2:The Minnesota Chiefs have had a solid run to the Challenge Cup Finals. While many players have stepped up during the run, someone who has flown under the radar is Mattias Holmberg. Holmberg came over in a mid-season trade with the Manhattan Rage and has not disappointed. While he hasn’t put up the same points as Alonzo Garbanzo, he still has played a huge role in contributing to the Chiefs playoff success. Holmberg is tied for the lead on his team with a plus 4. He has also sacrificed his body and has blocked 16 shots and has thrown out 14 hits. He has also contributed 6 points in 8 games and had played key roles on the powerplay and penalty kill. If the Chiefs end up winning the cup, trading for Holmberg will prove to be a great decision as it is tough to say if they would be in the same position without him.

4: Pmed

6: The series between the Los Angeles Panthers and the Minnesota Chiefs will be a close one. I expect a tough series with the Chiefs having a slight edge. For the Panthers, I expect Sophia Bennett to continue to stand out and put on a show. She has 13 points and 7 goals in 8 games which is absolutely insane! She seems poised to score whenever she is on the ice. Expect her to continue the scoring burden for the team and be the finals MVP if the LA is able to win. On the other for the Minnesota Chiefs, a single MVP is not as a clear. You could make a case for Terrance Nova, Sebastian Strange, Lord Pretty Flacko, Alonzo Garbanzo, or Jonathan Lundberg. I would personally give the nod to Terrance Nova who has 2 Game Winning Goals, and an impressive 1.40 points per 20. He has also been very sportsmanlike and has not taken a single penalty.

Task 1: My team has not made the playoffs therefor I am in the offseason. During the offseason I started off by going to my good friend Viktor Vorkämpfer house to party for a couple nights. This was necessary to burn off some steam after having to deal with my annoying general manager WannabeFinn. There were a ton of Buffalo players there and instead of crying about not making the playoffs we celebrated that we did not get last place. After the party died down I decided to travel the world and see the sights. The most notable places I have been so far is Australia, Paris, and London. Australia was great. I got to hang out with Alexis Metzler whose family currently lives there. I have not intentions of following the SHL playoffs but wish the best for some of my friends including Maximilian Wächter and also Nicolas Winter who both play for Los Angeles.

TASK ONE
After the New England Wolfpack was eliminated from playoff contention by the Minnesota Chiefs, Oisin Fletcher decided to take a little time off before the training restart. He did not have a lot of time, however, with the IIHF starting about two weeks after the Finals will be done. First, he had the chance to be visited in New England by his good friend, Roman Augustus. Fletcher showed him around town and they both spend a few days having fun and discussing their plan for the next seasons as well as looking forward to the IIHF tournament where they will meet again in a few weeks. After, he decided to go visit his family in Quebec City. New England was not too far of them, but he did not have the chance to go see them often. He spent some time with parents and even went to go see a match of the newly created hockey team in Montreal, the Royals.

TASK TWO
There is only one unsung hero in the playoff. That man is Ronnie Westbrook. He’ll always be a unsung hero of the playoff because his team will not win the cup. The reason is simple. His team played 7 games. All in the first round. They didn’t manage to get pass it. But what Westbrook did is phenomenal. Right now, the playoff index was updated up to game 4 of the second round, so I do not have all the informations about who scored what after that. However, Westbrook stand tall with 10 points in 7 matches. Five goals and five assist in seven game versus the wolfpack. If the Steelhawks weren’t able to pass the first round, it’s clearly not because of him. He gave everything he got. He was playing 24 minutes a night, landed 10 hits and received 14. He managed to score on 22% of the 22 shots he tried.

TASK SIX
Los Angeles Panthers versus the Minnesota Chiefs. That’s the two teams currently in the playoff. As of game 4 of round two, those two teams had the two best point scorers in the current playoff. Sophia Bennett and Terrance Nova were tearing down the league with their point production. In both eight games, Bennet had 13 points (7 goals and 6 assits) and Nova had 12 points (4 goals and 8 assists). The big difference between the two teams however is the number of high scoring players they possess. Bennett was supported by Reflieux (11 points) but the next Panthers are a bit further in the standing with Foster (9 points) and Watcher (8 points). On the other side, Nova is greatly supported by his team. He has around him Strange (11 points), Flacko (11 points), Garbanzo (10 points) and Lundberg (9 points). All those Chiefs players are currently on the top 10 of scoring. So, LAP players such as Reynolds and Winter will clearly have to step up to win it. The current MVP for me is Nova.

Task one:
It's my first season as captain of the St. Louis Scarecrows and we made the finals! I knew we had the skills, but a lot of teams have the talent and skill to do something like this. The real difference is that we believe in ourselves. I think everyone on this team knows that we're the best team in this league. We proved it in the regular season, and the guys are ready to prove it again in the finals. We're here to be champions. I've been preparing for these games the way always prepare for games. A good stretch, an energy bar, some pre game off-ice warming up, and then as I'm getting my pads and jersey on I think the game in my head. I go through all of the games I've played coming up to the one that night. I think of the things I could have done better and the things I did well. It gets me so in the zone that when I'm finally on the ice I barely have to think about what I'm doing anymore, it's all second nature because I've been doing it in my head for the past hour. So I'm not nervous. I'm not excited or scared. These are just games like the ones we've been playing all season. But when that final buzzer sounds and we're throwing our gloves, sticks and helmets in the air, it isn't just going to be us that know we're champions. It's going to be the entire world.

Task Two:
The unsung hero of these playoffs? Well that's easy. There's a reason GM Joe picked up a guy at the trade deadline. It was entirely for his talent, although that's always a huge plus. It wasn't even for his work ethic, which is obviously incredible since he's blocked the most shots on the team (12) through 7 games. Us picking up Fredrich Koenig actually had nothing to do with him. It had to do with our rookie defensemen. A rookie, this deep in the playoffs, needs to be great, in order for us to win. But that's a lot of pressure to put on the two young guys playing on the bottom pair. So Joe goes out of shows one of the best displays of managing I've seen in a long time. He gets another defenseman to put on our already stacked blue line. And you wonder, why would he do that when we're already killing it when it comes to corsi? So he can put Paige with our rookies. The rookies only Woody and McZ only play about 10 minutes a game, but Paige plays close to 20 with two players green as grass. Imagine the difference that makes for the rookies. Instead of playing with each other, they're playing with one of the most stalwart defensemen this league has ever seen. I know it'd be a huge confidence boost for me knowing that Seth is out there to have my back in case I screw up. So it isn't our goalie, who's been playing stellar. It isn't any of our forwards who have been putting pucks in the net like mad. It's the the guys who's been on this team for 5 seasons now who is making sure that when our rookies are on the ice, they aren't just playing to stay even, they're playing to put pucks in the net (Woody is plus 3 and McZ is plus 4). And to top it off, Seth Paige leads our defensemen with 7 points. He's really shown how much of a leader he is on the ice, even if he doesn't show up to practice.

Task Six:
To be honest, I think that for a team to win either a goalie will have to stand out or a single player is going to have to get really hot. Goalies might be a cop out answer, but it's true.IF Schmidt becomes a brick wall and only lets one goal in a game then the Whalers won't a have chance. If I had to chose one person to the playoff MVP it'd have to be Michael Fischer. It's been awesome to see him go from a 3rd line rookie who was struggling to find playing time and points to becoming the leading point scorer and an absolutely integral part of the squad. If he keeps putting points up like he is, he could definitely be up for playoff MVP. The other player that I think could take home the playoff MVP award is Brady McIntyre who leads the Scarecrows in both goals and game winning goals. Although he doesn't lead the team in points, he leads the team in average minutes played and being able to score clutch, meaningful goals like he has been able to might be enough to sway the league into giving him the trophy over someone who has more points than him. My final prediction though would be Fischer.

I honestly think Matthew Auston on the Panthers has been an unsung hero in the S39 Playoffs proving why is two playoff run with the Crows were no fluke with his stellar play along side Sophia Bennett and Jean-Luc Reflieux who basically singly handly along with Timo Haas took down the Jets in a 6 game heavily contested Western Conference which saw LAP prevail and improve to 8-2 in the playoffs. In the first round the first line with Auston on it demolished the Dragons with a clean sweep with Auston mustering up two points while Reflieux and Bennett did most heavy lifting but with Auston playing against one of his closest friends from the Crows in Crossfit Jesus he upped his game helping Reflieux get a hat-trick in the series clinching win over the Jets. Now he looks forward to the Chiefs playing one of the highest scoring lines in the playoffs combined for about 20 points in a little over 10 games in the S39 Playoffs

TASK SIX: Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

For Playoff MVPs I would have to go with Timo Haas and Olli O'Koivu the two goalies for each franchise. When both teams needed them the most they were there to support the team acting as any elite goalie would is that to give their teams a chance to win when there backs are against the wall in certain points of the games. From playing the Western Conference Finals Timo Haas was always there to shut the door when the Jets offence were desperate for goals and putting all sorts of shots at the net just for it to be smothered with no rebound to capitilize on. There are other candidates of your talking from a forwards standpoint like Bennett, Reflieux, Flacko and Garbanzo who have put up numbers that are worth heavy consideration for the MVP title for the Playoffs, but the goalies deserve a lot of love this series.

Task 1:

Artemi Berezin had one last shot at glory in the SMJHL with the trade that saw he leave Montreal and end up in Detroit, but it didn’t work out like either of them wanted, so now the long off-season starts, and Berezin knows the next stop in New England and the SHL.

Berezin headed back to Montreal after the Falcons couldn’t move past in the playoffs to meet back up with some old teammates who made their rookie debut’s last year in the SHL, the Tanner twins, Jack and Keygan for some advice and off-season training that could get him ready for the next step of his career.

As usual, the best advice he got was from Jack, who takes his on-ice career very seriously, with a strict diet and workout plan both on and off the ice, while Keygan, with his god given skill, doesn’t improve and rather would eat some questionable food, and loves the party scene in Montreal, as Edmonton is played out he says.

Task 2:

The choice for unsung hero of the playoffs thus far has to be an easy one to make, LA’s Danny Foster. A player known for his tough style of play, making it difficult for even the most skilled opponent to get free ice out there, Danny Foster has upped his game this playoff, with 9 points in 8 games. Which is quite the accomplishment for a player who has 24 penalty minutes and can still use his body after a total of 36 hits in those 8 games.

Every playoff has your players like Sophia Bennett, who just light the lamp, or even top goalies like Timo Haas, who has under a 2.00 GAA, but to have a player like Danny Foster step up to the plate and take a whole new approach to his game, and not only contribute off the puck like he always does, but to contribute with the puck, is very welcomed by the Panthers who look to bring the cup back with them.

There are two huge standouts from each team competing for the Challenge Cup, and both are the gate keepers.

Timo Haas for the Panthers, who as of right now has a big vote behind him for season MVP, has risen to the task of elite goalie once again, and is only a few wins of his Panthers winning the cup. Through 8 games played this off-season, Timo has a 7-1 record while posting a ridiculous .941 SP and 1.89 GAA.

In the opposing end, Olli O’Koivu has cemented his status with the Chiefs this season and post-season, leading them with just as impressive numbers through 8 games, 7-1 record, 910 SP and 2.68GAA.

Both of these goalies are well deserved of that MVP honours, but there can only be one winner, usually the winning team gets the MVP as well, but even if Minnesota wins, I still think there is deep discussion for Timo Haas, those numbers don’t lie, he is the real deal.

Louie Garrett’s offseason is actually looking to be a fairly interesting one considering he is a free agent. Interestingly enough, Garrett has spent quite a bit of time chatting with Liam O’Callaghan (<a href='index.php?showuser=1891' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Dangles13</a>) about the offseason as he has expressed his displeasure with the management of the Seattle Riot organization. Other than that, Garrett is spending some time travelling around seeing some sights and is kinda only sorta paying attention to the Challenge Cup Finals. More so he has been paying attention to the Four Star Cup Finals where the Scarecrows are looking to take home the cup. Garrett is absolutely hoping that Joe and Ryan are able to bring some pride back to St. Louis. Hopefully they can pull it off. Outside of that Garrett is already starting up his training for next season. He was pretty disappointed that he came just 1 point short of having a 50 point season last season so he’s putting in the extra effort make sure he can crack that barrier this next season no matter what team he’s playing on.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

My choice for the S39 challenge cup playoffs would have to be Jonathan Lundberg of the of Minnesota Chiefs. First of all, as a former teammate of Lundy, I can say that he is absolutely a great guy and I wish him the best in the finals, but that brings us to the stats. In terms of points he has proven that he isn't a scrub by any means. 8 games into the playoffs he was averaging more than a point per game with 9 points total. Secondly, he hasn't let his scrappiness die down at all either registering a team high 39 hits. Additionally he has been on both the power play and penalty kill units throughout the playoffs. I just think that his game is really impressive and there is a lot to admire about it. Hopefully someday I will be able to play like Lundy, that being said I would need to work on my physicality quite a bit.

TASK FOUR: Unscramble the names of these four players who will be competing in the Challenge Cup Finals. Send the answers to me by forum PM. Please make the subject of the message “CW Word Scramble” or something along those lines. [Grading: 1 TPE for participation, 0.5 TPE for each correct answer]

TASK SIX: Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

I think this series will be determined entirely by who's offensive core shows up more. Both teams have proven that they have deadly scorers but they just have to see who can come out on top. For Minnesota they are going to have to rely heavily on Terrance Nova, Sebastian Strange and Lord Pretty Flacko to get the job done. They have been mainstays on the Minnesota roster for a long time and it looks like things are clicking for them now, they will be difficult to stop for sure. On the other hand, the Panthers are going to be looking towards the S35 youngster Sophia Bennett to be netting goals like crazy. She had a wonderful regular season and continued that success into the playoffs so hopefully she does well in the finals. Like I said before though, this one is going to come down to which of these players can elevate their game to the next level because both goalies in this series are absolutely insane.

Bonus question: Who scores the Cup-winning goal? (NOTE: This question will be graded at the conclusion of the winning-game sim of the Challenge Cup Finals, even if that happens before the conclusion of Championship Week.)

The offseason is a fun time for TJ Bayley. He had some time to catch up with some old friends. He spent some time overseas in the Netherlands where he met up with old friends Michael Haan as well as Ivo Willems (<a href='index.php?showuser=512' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-54'>Green</a>). These two are people that he grew up watching and adoring from one of the first few seasons of the SHL. He thinks that Michael Haan should definitely have been in the Hall Of Fame, and was the correct first overall pick. After spending time there, he made his way back to the great state of Canada where he met up with a good friend Tommy Tuck <a href='index.php?showuser=2923' rel='nofollow' alt='profile link' class='user-tagged mgroup-3'>Muford</a> who plays for Toronto. Tommy kept wanting to take him to the men's strip club, which was interesting. He much preferred the second night of the their meeting where they went to a women strip club. Tommy did not seem to be enjoying that too much, but boys be boys. They spent a lot of money at Chick Fil A later on the evening which led them to working out and TJ peppering the goalie with shots. You have to get him to be better somehow, TJ joked.

I would have to say that my hero of the playoffs is going to be Sophia Bennett of the Los Angeles Panthers. When you look at what she has done during these playoffs, she has been fantastic in just about every facet of the game. She has 7 goals, 6 assists for a total of 13 points. What is even more impressive is that she is looking at a +8 for her plus/minus. That means, she has been on the ice for 8 more goals than she has given up. I mean, that is fantastic. That is only second to Jean-Luc Reflieux which is also Sophia's teammate. Now, look at shot blocked, she has 5! She is also a huge asset on the powerplay as 2 of those assists came from that. How impressed are you with her play? I know I am impressed, I think she deserves MVP. Why would anyone argue with that?

Create the design that you and your team would come up with. Must include a goalie helmet (from any angle), either the goalie’s team colors or his logo represented, and at least one additional distinct images as part of the design.

Kevin Hamilton spent the first week or so doing very close to nothing. This was his first season trading hip checks and, on three separate occasions, punches as well, with the best players in the league, and it had him tired and sore. Despite some disappointment at a losing season (10 points shy of even a Wild Card appearance), he was relieved that he wouldn’t have to endure it again for at least a few weeks. After being contacted by Team USA, he was given the chance to work with Joe Kurczewski himself, captain of Team USA. Kurczewski spent a day with Hamilton getting him ready for his first IIHF game, especially helping him with his indecision on shooting or passing. Hamilton learned a lot from it, though he was still the least experienced player on the team even after being coached by one of the best. Have to start somewhere, though, right?

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S39 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

He may not have made it to the Challenge Cup games, but Jon Ross played phenomenally this postseason, and definitely deserves some credit for it. Over only 4 games, Ross, playing borderline first line minutes, scored 3 goals and 4 assists. His 7 points in 87 minutes allowed him to finish #1 in the league in points per twenty minutes with 1.61. Part of the reason for this amazing efficiency was his high shot percentage. Ross made 25% of his shots, the only player on the Platoon to hit that mark with more than 5 shots taken. His shot percentage of 25% was 4th-best in the league. Among all centers, he had the 4th most points, but every other center on the list played at least 7 games, even the ones who placed UNDER him. The only thing going against him is his 7 penalty minutes, but 5 of those were for fighting, which took out an opponent as well.

TASK SIX: Finals series always show surprises. Who will have to stand out the most from each team in order to win it? Make a prediction for potential series MVPs. Must be at least 150 words and mention at least one player from each team.

From the Los Angeles Panthers, the player who needs to step up the most is Felix Herzog. Over 8 games, Herzog has scored 3 points. That wouldn’t be so bad by itself. After all, Herzog is a defenseman, so goals and assists shouldn’t be the focus of his contributions. Herzog, however, has only dealt 2 hits, a ridiculously low number. He has blocked 14 shots, which doesn’t even lead the team. What’s amazing is that Herzog is leading the team in one category: minutes played. Clearly LAP is counting on him stepping up when it matters, and he is my surprise MVP pick.

For Minnesota, the player who needs to get off his ass is Derrick Glover. Over 8 games and 160 minutes, Glover is at 0 points. He has dealt 0 hits as well. Now, I partially excused Herzog’s lack of points as he was a defenseman, but Glover is a forward, and a second line one as well. If he doesn’t step up, Minnesota doesn’t have a chance.
