Having spent my own time digging through Jcink, it's for sure a shit forum and the move is a really, really good idea for everything from security to potential quality of life improvements.

That said, I'm 100% with Insayne on this. Obviously it's still in a beta stage and things have to be changed and moved around, but the look of this site if very particular and you know where you are when you logon here. I don't know what the coding looks like for these new forums, but the look is such a crucial part of this site to me and clearly to some others too.

Even something like SCOR feels kind of generic in comparison to this. The look is absolutely my biggest gripe with the move, but hopefully it's something that can be worked on.

Yeah the current skin on the test site is not the end goal... In fact it's more of a placeholder. If anyone with php and css experience wants to help us skin the new site I would love the help. Avakael has been trying to help too and started working on a dark skin, but if someone wants to step up and help out, I would love to work with them.

Technically we could mass email using the new forum... I am largely against doing mass emails as I think it annoys people more than it helps, but just pointing out that the new site would be able to do it.

Current replies in general;

We will be getting a simpler player creation form, but not simpler updating- that'll require custom PHP work. A basic form won't necessarily be foolproof, either, but we can work it.

Multiple reputation plugins are available, and we could presumably get reputations manually ported over upon request.

In fact, there's quite a few plugins for MyBB that could have potential for various uses, but I'd rather see the core functionality up first (and the board reorganized in general, of course).

I'm actually working on a light theme, not a dark; there's a dark theme that's very up to date without a light variant and I'm trying to make a light variant, and should not require many adjustments (I'd like a slightly less impact-esque font for both themes, for example). The plan is that the highlight colours of the themes will change to match the current Challenge Cup Champion- there are two versions of the theme up right now and you can probably guess which team other than the current champ is coloured.
