"Lastly… from this moment forward ALL UPDATE THREADS in SHL and SMJHL must also contain your updated seasonal TPE cap (ex. S43 3/40). If it is not listed when your updater processes updates, you WILL be skipped for the week of updates."

Given as that is a rule no one's thought to introduce until an unfortunate mistake happened, it's probably stupid to try and pin this on anyone, especially not the player it happened to.

First of all, don't play this game with me, Justice. I can't find it on the new site, nor do I care to spend that much time looking for it, but on the old site there was an example thread on how to update your player. It shows you to keep track of your capped TPE. Click this link to see.

Karey would have been here during the times of the old site, and this link is provided in the "Your First PT" link, so I don't buy your reasoning.

Ah yes, because if there's anything that the SHL is known for when you're a new player it's simplicity. Especially since capped tpe isn't even something you have to keep in mind for your first 2-4 months of being here. It's 57 TPE. Is it really worth a 10 million dollar fine + 20 games for a first generation player, hasn't even been here a year, who comes from a league that doesn't deal with a capped TPE system? Or is it safe to say that it's just a sorry mistake due to the oversight of a missing rule that should have been in place a long time ago?

We have a Pris post (which I admittedly haven't read through) but people are saying there wasn't anything that said to keep track of their capped TPE. If it says to in the current post, then so be it. If it doesn't, then this could solve these sorts of issues.

Probably cause you don't have capped TPE when you start in the SMJHL

It still would be a good idea to have. The worst thing that can happen is "why does it say there's a cap for TPE" to which you could say "worry about that after you're drafted to an SHL team". Or you can even put a note underneath/beside/over top in bold/different colour/what have you, saying "This cap only applies to players who have been drafted by an SHL team".

It's really not that hard.

Tbh the best solution is to just abolish the season cap.

at no point was it a rule to track it yourself, it was just a rule to not go over the limit

You're really gonna play that card? It's called being organized, honest, and sympathetic to the other members who have to go through all the update threads every week. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Not doing it is lazy, and if those three qualities aren't something you possess, then you've got some stuff to figure out.

im not playing any card, its just not a rule. If it was a rule, this wouldn't have happened. Therefore, this rule should be introduced, and the punishments shouldn't be this high. I really don't understand how that's rocket science.

the 50 tpe was the difference between 40 and 60 checking and 40 and 60 strength. That's probably the difference between 40 and 45 points. I don't think that warrants the punishment, or anything close.

I wasn't trying to bend rules and pad my players TPE but also didn't take the due diligence to make sure my updates were sound.

It is what it is, it's fair as it should be.

As for updaters, I'm sorry that you are getting roped into it, sure there was an oversight from your end, but it was truly my fault.

A classy response from a classy guy.

Also, I don't think for a second that you did it intentionally.
