Tracking Spreadsheet SMJHL S49 Game 5 - ANA @ HFX SMJHL Game 5 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Atlas Rush @Rublic Team: Halifax Raiders Victim: Jacob Riley @2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Team: Anaheim Outlaws Time: 9:37 of 1st period Total possession time: 9:37 Hot po-take-to: Atlas Rush is the 1st-line right winger for the Raiders. Atlas was approached prior to the start of the season and was presented with the shiny, new SMJHL Hot Potato. He was chosen because of his top-tier hits record of 141 hits in Season 48. Giving the Hot Potato to one of the biggest hitters in the league currently was a originally designed to get the Hot Potato event off to a good start, and Atlas certainly provided some excitement. Just 9 and 1/2 minutes into the game Rush obliterates Jacob Riley of the Anaheim Outlaws, dropping the Hot Potato on his semi-conscious body as he skated away. Atlas went on to hit again, provide goalie pressure with 4 shots on goal, and even scored a goal in the second period. Halifax won 7-6, so his point contribution was valuable to Halifax's 1-goal win in this high-scoring game. SMJHL Game 5 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Jacob Riley @2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Team: Anaheim Outlaws Victim: N/A Team: Halifax Raiders Time: N/A Total possession time: 50:23 Hot po-take-to: Jacob Riley is a 3rd-line defenseman for the Anaheim Outlaws. Jacob was unlucky in the Outlaws's first game of the season to be nailed in the first 10 minutes and then to take on the burden of the Hot Potato. Jacob looked very shaken after that first hit, which likely contributed to his second hit taken a couple minutes later. Jacob didn't statistically contribute much to the game for the rest of the night, though I'm sure the Outlaws don't want to hang on to the Hot Potato for long and are looking for opportunities to get it off Jacob and on to another team. SMJHL S49 Game 11 - ANA @ DET SMJHL Game 11 Advanced Taterlytics Report: Posessor: Jacob Riley @2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Team: Anaheim Outlaws Victim: N/A Team: Detroit Falcons Time: N/A Total possession time: 1:00:00 Hot po-take-to: Jacob Riley has a hockey-player-average physicality to his game, which comes to light a bit in this game against the Falcons. He blocked 2 shots in the second half of the game and took a hit once again by the opposing team. This is Riley's rookie year in the SMJHL, and is likely causing quite an internal shakeup with his play. The Outlaws can only hope he pulls it together to dump the Hot Potato off to someone else in their next game. His 3rd-line minutes don't afford him as many opportunities to discard the Potato, so he has to take advantage of any that he can get. |
