"At the end of the day though, we felt like a fresh start would work best. We want to build a culture that brings alumni back into the locker room to talk with the current players, whether its sim help or just normal conversations about IRL happenings, a culture that isn’t currently seen in Montreal. This culture is seen in other SMJHL franchises such as St Louis, Vancouver, and Anaheim (I’m sure there are others, too, but these are the 3 I know of 100%). We want to build that here and are confident that this is something we will be able to do, and a fresh start in terms of branding will help with that."

Also I doubt that any alumni sticking with the program will have anything to do with the branding and relocation.

Alonzo Garbanzo Final Tallies (Among Defensemen):
2nd in Goals (208), All-Time Assists Leader (765)*, All-Time Points Leader (973), 3rd in Hits (2587), All-Time Blocked Shots Leader (1882)*
*All-Time Leader Among All Skaters

What about the branding makes you want to spend time in the locker room as opposed to the people or the culture that you would more often interact with?

Because both Montreal Impact and Montreal Militia were not very good brands. One was a soccer team, the other was a controversial rebrand of a beloved soccer team. .

I clearly have a bias, but I'd feel the same way if they went to any other coastal area. And honestly I hope it gives a future rebrand in SHL a chance to be MTL where it belongs

Obviously whatever was in place before wasn't getting you to spend time in the locker room so why are you now giving a shit about "the culture"? You didn't care before. Stop pretending like you do now.

Word on the street is that the locker room was a ghost town so clearly the alumni weren't up to much anyway.

What about seeing the Militia logo on the homepage made you so happy? Because outside of that you haven't had anything to do with the Militia that I have seen.

I wasn't acting like I "cared" about the culture, I am stating I personally do not buy the locker room culture as a major reason to rebrand.

More people than not wanted to move on from Montreal? Sure. But to me good locker rooms come from active GMs who draft well and do a good job with the guys they bring in. I'm sure you will be able to do that with your new direction.

Not the best example but he had his "viva l'impact" signature in his bio for like 15 seasons. That's something I guess!

1. I am not the one tying connection to the team with the look.
2. I hated it when they rebranded to the Militia
3. I will give Fuzz credit for actually contacting alumni this time
