Before we move on to the biggest individual awards of the night let’s take a quick trip back to the S50 SHL playoffs. After dominating the west 12-1 through 3 series the Calgary Dragons found themselves in a 3-0 series hole. They would manage to not only erase that deficit, but win the all-important game 7 to clinch the series. It’s no surprise then that our nominees for the Anton Razov trophy awarded to the playoff MVP are all Dragons…

The next two awards are given to the best of the best. Every year players vie to be called the most valuable player in the league, but only one may win. Mikhail Lokitonov! Stars Stars Stars

Leading the entire league in assists and points is no easy feat, but to do so while also collecting 199 hits makes it just that much more impressive. His linemates Mika Kandinsky and Xavier Paquette each played their roles to perfection as well (and were rewarded for it as seen here earlier) but at the end of the day the Toronto North Stars lean on Lokitonov more than any other player and gosh did he deliver. Congratulations @ml002 !

The second MVP award, the Sarmad Khan trophy is much like the Mexico, however it is awarded to the player deemed MVP as voted by the players. Anyone is eligible, and while it tends to be the same names we’d find in contention for the Mexico there is always the potential for an upset. This year’s winner iiiiiiissss……

After a bit of a step back in S49 they didn’t panic in the offseason and continued to grow internally. In an otherwise shocking finish by Kandinsky they had yet another strong contender for rookie of the season for a third straight year.
