S56 mPT #0 - Bold (ish) Predictions

Neither Buffalo nor Hamilton will make the Challenge Cup finals

I feel like it's finally Chicago's time to make the cup final, as it's been ten seasons and they still havent been to the promised land. They just gotta figure out how to do lines

Neither Buffalo nor Hamilton will make the Challenge Cup finals

b) That can be true because Buffalo got weaker this offseason losing Michael Scarn, Cassius Darrow and Eko Van Otter. Hamilton defense got weaker. I believe Chicago Syndicate have a chance this year. They have added Charlie Schieck and Disisde Dayudie.

Chicago will win the President's Trophy

Wrong. Chicago made some big moves coming into this season and have a great team but the Great Lakes division is too strong for the President's Trophy winner to come out of there. Having to play Buffalo and Hamilton more than other teams puts Chicago at a disadvantage for the PT. If they were in any other division I think they would have a shot but being in the GL really stacks the deck against them.

Quote:Texas will be the top team in the Western Conference

Wrong...

Texas might be getting better and better, but they still aren't at the level Edmonton, New Orleans and Calgary are. They will make the playoffs, but they won't win the West.

New Orleans will see a significant decline and barely make the playoffs

I disagree with this immensely. I think New Orleans has a great core that is still active, updating and earning. If you know Joe or Nic you know they're constantly putting in the work to keep the team relevant. I mean they drafted me after all. Kidding, I suck.

Not bold at all. As much as the North Stars have been progressing and improving their team, I think the core on the Seattle Argonauts is strong enough to be a little better than Toronto. Playing in the different conference, this prediction will most likely come down to the strength of schedule that they have. They are almost even in talent but the Western conference is a lot easier than the eastern conference from what I see at quick glance. Assuming that the Argonauts are playing easier opponents and also having a core thats better than the North Stars, makes it easier for Seattle to do better than Toronto

Toronto is going to be a sad team this season. They will absolutely finish with more points than the Argonauts, but will still be last in the Thunderdome, er Great Lakes division.

Tampa Bay will not finish with the worst record this season - San Francisco will

As San Francisco's GM it hurts me to say it but I definitely think this will be the case. SFP's lineup is definitely the weakest in the league and while our division is weaker than TBBs I still think TBB will win atleast 5 games this season. I doubt we win 5 games this season.

I actually believe this one. Not that bold since the Argonauts have Tig, who is known for good management. Neither expansion team will make the playoffs I believe this one as well! Not bold, they're new, they'll most likely struggle.

Texas will be the top team in the Western Conference
As a Rene, I would love for this to be true. I think it's just a little too bold, but hey I wouldn't shocked. We have TALENT.

New Orleans will see a significant decline and barely make the playoffs
Way too bold. They have a lot of strong players and should comfortably make the playoffs. Will they go far? Probably not.

Neither Buffalo nor Hamilton will make the Challenge Cup finals
Honestly this one is so bold, I love it. I really can't envision a team that isn't BUF or Hammy, but stranger things have happened!

There will be no major scandals during the season
yikes

Monkey D Luffy, extra TPE and all, will have a worse season than he did in S55
Sadly true, I bet. Any SMJHL lovers will remember Williams' decline from 64 regular season points with 350 TPE to 32 with 425 TPE. :(

Someone from the S53 draft class will win rookie of the year
Ahem.

The Nevada Battleborn will win the Four Star Cup
Wts is hotdog smoking.

The Detroit Falcons will return to dominance and be a top 3 team in the SMJHL regular season
I pray for my fellow Falcons that they step it up, but this one is probably too bold. So many of us S53 class leaving.

Let's be honest, not only is this just plain wrong, it's downright laughable. This league thrives on scandals and it's damn near impossible for somebody not to do something stupid and get everybody pissed off. Hell, I've already got my bucket of popcorn ready to go.

Since they haven't gotten rid of Muller I am fairly confident this is their future outlook. The guy can't produce and is a liability on the ice. Send him bsck down to SMJHL. He won't even be top 50 there

There are 11 reasons why the Battleborn will not win the Four Star Cup this season. The team just isn't ripe enough to overcome the difference in total TPE. Being apart of Maine, I know very well that anything can happen in the playoffs but even then luck will only carry you so far.

Against. The 'S' in 'SHL' should stand for scandal instead of simulation. This league feeds off scandals and the forum is most active in the midst of one. I would think there is a problem without a scandal during the season. We got Kerry Washington in this bitch.

Neither expansion team will make the playoffs

This one is just completely wrong, as me and the boys in Atlanta are ready to go right out of the gate and will at the very least compete for a playoff spot. We put together a squad that's ready to win right now with some of the biggest aging names in the SHL.

Quote:The winner of the McBride Award (top goaltender) will come from the Atlantic Division

Not bold. Two best goalies last season where from the Atlantic. Probably going to be the same since the division has the best mix of stratified on ice talent. And therefore a good mix of close games and blow outs, both which work for goalie perseeved performance. You want to get getting enough shots against that your sav% is high. But not too many shots that your GAA collapses. Wins also matter.

Basically. Going to be Peter Larson for McBride again in. S56!
