The Nevada Battleborn will win the Four Star Cup

This is flat out wrong. There are many strong teams in the SMJHL and while the Battleborn will be good they will not be good enough to win the Four Star Cup. With teams such as Anchorage, Kelowna, Carolina, and Maine the Battleborn wont be able to even make it to the finals. There are just too many potential contenders this season to expect the Battleborn to win it all.

Someone from the S53 draft class will win rookie of the year

At first this seems like a "no duh" but as Lee Corso would say, not so fast my friend! There are a handful of S54 draftees who got an early call up who could challenge for rookie of the year. Dwight Knight and Justin Keahi of Tampa Bay as well as Guy LeGrande and Daniel Laforest in Edmonton and first overall draft pick Mikkel Asmus Sondergard of Texas.

As much as the expansion teams have grown over the last season there is no reason to believe that Nevada, or Quebec, will make a jump big enough to win the 4SC. I believe both teams will do alright this season but there are teams with much deeper rosters, such as Anchorage, Vancouver, and Colorado, that will be much more competitive and have a much higher chance to win it all this season. Nevada will put up a better fight but I believe they are pretty much doomed to have a top 2-3 pick in the next SMJHL draft again.

Nevada are in no way in hell of winning the Four Star Cup this year. It will be an achivment for them to not finish last in the league. I give it at least 5 season for them to become contenders.

- No doubt! As a proud member of the Battleborn family I am sure, that we will make the playoffs as one of the top seeds and eventually also take home the trophy. An even bolder prediction - ZZ as the leagues top scorer. Lets get it.

I don’t think tampa will finish the season with a worse record than the pride. The reason for this is because I don’t think tampa are actively trying to tank anymore. They are well set on their prospects for their window while the pride need to start rebuilding the team entirely. Will be interesting to see how it plays out

This comment is wrong. We had a young team last season in Detroit and still have a fairly young team overall. It will take another season or two to be dominant in this league. Do expect a middle of the pack finish improving upon last season and causing a surprise or two in the playoffs!

I am going to go with option A here and agree with this statement. I will probably be wrong but I would like to think that generally people can manage themselves and I would prefer to be optimistic rather than be a pessimist. Here is to an amazing new season!

False. With the new SHL simmer having a player in Buffalo, I think everyone will look towards them to make the finals again. There might be some collusion or rigging going on behind the scenes, but I could bet Buffalo will be the team to defeat in the Challenge Cup Finals.

Against this 100%. I can't see how this team will finish atop the west. Yes, some of the teams have regreased, but i don't see the combination of that regression and Texas being so good as to end up on top of the West.

Yeah this one seems about right. While the Inferno had a great free agent class come in, they still lack too much firepower and have to contend with a pretty harsh Eastern conference where three teams from one division are likely to make it, leaving few spots left.

WRONG. I think Atlanta stands a very good shot of making the postseason honestly. It's a tougher path for Seattle, especially considering the lack of forward depth, but the Inferno drafted well and added some stout FAs as well.

Nah, Tampa is really not in a good position to compete. I just can't see San Fran getting below them on the table. I'm useless at this so I could be wrong.

Not all that bold. Sure, there have been adjustments since then, though Flacko Lagerfield was in my player's class, had fewer TPE, and won MVP twice down the stretch. There comes a point where it's just up in the air season-to-season. And with the target on their backs as a whole, no one will spare anything against Buffalo.
