In the System (NEW)
#1

Good afternoon SHL'ers!

I have decided to make my own little series for prospects to see who is in each of the systems in the SHL as well as where they may fit. If it is really enjoyed, maybe I will continue it to other teams. Of course, I decided to do my own team first because I am a homer, but without further waiting, here we go!

Right Defense - Matthew Sawful
Username: @SAwful
Season: 54
TPE: 651
SMJHL Team: Anchorage Armada
Who will they replace?: Troy McClure III
Analysis: With Matthew Sawful really leading the class of defenseman for the New England Wolfpack, they will likely be the first one being called up from the SMJHL to replace Troy McClure who was from the Season 42 Draft Class. I really think with Season 46 being the class that got hit with regression this year that it is going to be time really soon for Sawful to take the jump. I could see it as soon as next season as he is going to take the 15% hit in TPE. I think that Sawful could definitely see the jump in TPE moving McClure to seeing his way out of the lineup. This guy is the top prospect for the New England Wolfpack, and will be seeing the first to make the jump the big leagues.

Right Defense - James LeBlond
Username: @eMLBCommish
Season: 54
TPE: 480
SMJHL Team: Anaheim Outlaws
Who will they replace?: =\
Analysis: It is going to be James LeBlond fighting for the spot that is on the defensive end, unfortunately with Kasius, Yxskaft, Volkov, Morgan, and Montgomery having quite a bit left in the tank, we think, that there may not be a spot for LeBlond on the roster. This guy has been earning decently as well, so he will be fighting for a spot. I am not exactly sure where he would be fitting on the team, but don't give up, you'll get there. I am sure the GMs will figure out something to get people in the lineup where they need to be to be successful.

Left Wing - Ryan Rieley
Username: @Brandon
Season: 55
TPE: 542
SMJHL Team: Quebec City Citadelles
Who will they replace?: Shooter McGavin
Analysis: With Shooter McGavin from Season 40 in the lineup soon, Rieley will pass him probably as soon as next season. I absolutely see that being the easiest spot for him to hit the lineup. Regression is theft, but we will likely see one of the stars from the Citadelles in the lineup next season. He will need to find his passport, but it'll be to Boston he goes.

Right Wing - Alexander Oscarsson
Username: @Zema
Season: 55
TPE: 608
SMJHL Team: Maine Timber
Who will they replace?: Rafe Ulrich
Analysis: With Ulrich drafted in the Season 42 draft class, Oscarsson will be another guy looking to make the jump from the Timber up to the SHL. I mean, he may have a way with Ulrich going to be regressing again in the offseason. The only question really remains if Oscarsson can play off wing as he is a right wing while Ulrich is a Left Wing. I wonder if that will be taken into account at all when thinking if it is time for this guy to make the jump. If I were the GMs, I think it makes sense to bring him up as he will likely have more TPE anyway.

Right Wing - Guðmundur Kristjánsson
Username: @Fluw
Season: 55
TPE: 581
SMJHL Team: Colorado Raptors
Who will they replace?: Sasha Dangelchek
Analysis: I hated writing this as there is no way to replace Sasha Dangelchek. RIP Dangel, I really will not write more as his number has been rightfully retired in the rafters. I do think that Dangel will have another season or 2 left in the SHL before being passed in TPE. Let's play for Dangels. This is going to be really hard shoes to fill, but Kristjánsson will look to make the most of his opportunity.

Right Defense - Leonids Balzams
Username: @Cyanide
Season: 55
TPE: 529
SMJHL Team: Nevada Battleborn
Who will they replace?: Perry Morgan
Analysis: Honestly, I think this will be a few seasons before this even happens as Morgan is at 1,358 TPE right now, but it will be important to have someone in the waiting for a guy that is part of the S46 draft class. I am not too worried about not having seen them in a few days, but you always have to have the next person up and I think that Balzams will be the next person up. A season 55 create, Balzams will fit nicely into that lineup when it is time to replace Perry Morgan.

Defense - Mikhael Petrov
Username: @to12143
Season: 56
TPE: 357
SMJHL Team: Kelowna Knights
Who will they replace?: Igor Volkov
Analysis: With Volkov not being on in a couple weeks, this may give one of the Petrovs the opening they need to jump into the lineup. I do not think this will be easy to get into the lineup, but this is the opportunity. Honestly, I think each of the Season 56 prospects will be trying to go for this spot on the lineup or potentially Dominic Montgomery's spot once they regress really bad, but it's not going to be easy. Defense is going to be hard to find spots especially with the talent that the Wolfpack have waiting.

Defense - Teylora Petrov
Username: @panda
Season: 56
TPE: 413
SMJHL Team: Quebec City Citadelles
Who will they replace?: Igor Volkov
Analysis: Will this Petrov have a spot or will he have to really battle his brother for that spot? It's going to be hard to get, but with 413 TPE and leading the entire class in TPE, there's nothing more that this guy can do to try to get that spot. It'll be up to the GMs to see when these guys get called up.

Right Wing - Alexis Vermette
Username: @treant
Season: 56
TPE: 396
SMJHL Team: Nevada Battleborn
Who will they replace?: Slap McShotty
Analysis: I think this will obviously be down the road as McShotty is in Season 47 with almost 2,000 TPE, so it'll be quite a while, but I think that Vermette could definitely step in for the offensive player since Ulrich and McGavin have been replaced. I was trying to find someone else to replace, but I am just not seeing anyone left. I think it's going to be a battle to get into the lineup, but this may be the option.

Left Defense - Grandmaster Funk
Username: @funk
Season: 56
TPE: 380
SMJHL Team: Nevada Battleborn
Who will they replace?: Igor Volkov
Analysis: The battle continues for the defenseman that was taken in the first round for the New England Wolfpack. Currently, he is about 30 TPE behind the other defenseman prospect on the Wolfpack roster. Like I mentioned before, I do think this is going to be a battle to get on the roster.

Center - Calvin Hobbes
Username: @krazko
Season: 56
TPE: 388
SMJHL Team: Maine Timber
Who will they replace?: Slappy McShotty
Analysis: What another battle will come! I think Hobbes has a place on the roster, but there are a couple people whom will he will look to battle off. I think there's a couple of people that he could replace, but I am going to go with McShotty based off regression.

Right Wing - Adrian Ayers
Username: @gordieboom
Season: 56
TPE: 268
SMJHL Team: St. Louis Scarecrows
Who will they replace?: =\
Analysis: Ayers is going to be looking to replace someone with that HUGE bank account. What a steal and what a prospect list we have here!

As difficult as it is to write and consider, having interacted with @Fluw in recent weeks, I can't think of anybody better to pick up Dangel's slack. You're a good guy, Fluw, and I think he'd be more than okay with moving to make a spot for you the way that other players did for him.

If Dangel loved the Scarecrows and Czechia, I don't think there's a word for what New England meant to him.

<3 Aww thank you! Maybe we become teammates some time in the future or on another player. Those are some seriously hard shoes to fill though. RIP Dangel.

Just wanted to mention that Igor Volkov retired this offseason and won’t be on the Pack next season (which likely means either one of LeBlond or Balzams will get the call)
