s56 mPT #3 - Trade Deadline
#31

LA Panthers should most probably be sellers at this point and embrace the full on rebuild. Looks like they have a few vets who could really help some contending teams.

The texas renegades surprised me this season with their performance. The competition in the west is more open than it is in the east so I would see them as being able to acquire some players and really make a late push into the post season this season

The Winnipeg Jets should be buying at the deadline. In a very competitive West conference, the Jets are poised to sneak in as one of the final seeds. If they can get a couple more pieces they may be able to surprise Calgary or Edmonton.

The San Francisco Pride for sure should be selling come trade deadline. They really should be selling any player above 1200 TPE and active because they should be going into complete rebuild mode at this point

The Panthers are sitting in a good position for playoff contention.  Based on their roster, they're looking to beef up their defensive lines and I would imagine they have decent picks/players to offer up.  If they continue as they have been and make the playoffs, I can completely see them offering up what they can to shore up a more solid defense to not get eliminated early.

Tampa Bay Barracuda should stay as is, there's a lot of prospects in the pool right now, the locker room is gelling. The assets they could sell are all slated to be integral parts of the rebuild going forward. STAY.

San Francisco Pride locker room is looking pretty barren in terms of established vets but they should be looking to acquire as many draft picks and younger talent as they can. Trading off any pieces teams are willing to acquire for their post season runs and snagging picks in the upcoming drafts are a must.

NOLA should be looking to sell their whole team and rebuild from the ground up. First asset to go should be Nicolaj Muller. He can't score for shit.

San Francisco should be focusing on selling off literally every sellable player on the team for draft picks and prospects. If it wasn't for the overstock of goalies atm I would think Kryyst would be the most valuable asset. He's been getting shelled so he's probably better than the stat line says.

I think that the Nevada Battleborn should add a player at the trade deadline! The team is very competitive this season and adding more talent could win them the cup!

San Francisco are having a rebuilding season but have sold off almost anything worthy or trading. However their strategy should be to buy so that they have more things to sell, hopefully turning a profit.

Nevada Battleborn should definitely be buyers this season. They are in a great position to win now and win next season as well but could always use more firepower for those playoff runs. Right now they lack depth down the middle and that would be there biggest need looking forward. A center that could hold his on in the defensive zone would be key.

The Vancouver Whalers are looking fantastic this season. With their top line doing very well, a dynamic second line, defenders producing well, and a two headed monster in net. You might think there isn't much room for a team to add another player. But there is always space to get better and the Whalers could be in the market to bring in another scoring defender. I believe a first and two seconds should be spent to acquire Teddy Park from the Kelowna Knights. But this is just one Whalers thoughts.

With all the J teams gaining TPE throughout the season and being closer to one another due to the cap, I would think that the Vancouver Whalers would want to buy some players to reinforce their team's depth. Conversely, a team like the Kelowna Knights should be selling any 2+ season veteran on their team to acquire picks & young players for the next draft.

In the SHL, teams like Baltimore, Minnesota, San Francisco & Los Angeles might have a few veterans or inactives they could sell for picks and/or younger players. Teams like Buffalo, Chicago, Manhattan, Edmonton, New Orleans would need to be in the market for these veterans to close the gap to Hamilton in the standings in order to mount a serious playoffs challenge. Overall the cap space for each team isn't much, so creative moves might be difficult to see happen.

It’s hard to tell in the juniors whether “rental” trades are worth it. Especially with such a chance of losing all your high level pieces to the SHL after the season is over anyway. But the Anchorage Armada could improve in one key area. Goaltending. Scoochie Stratton and Chimkin Tendy have a save percentage of .889 and .894 respectively. And when you look at GAA, Tendy is in the top 7. But Stratton is sitting in the bottom 7. A team that looked to boast one of the best defence groups in the league should not have goalies with such low save percentages. If there was any area Anchorage would look to improve, it would be goaltending.
