I’m saying that is all anyone can compute. Generally referred to as the worst stat for goaltenders because it Is merely a baseline stat with no quality measurement. In scouting goalies it has zero relevance, but in standards of certain websites they still list it to fill out a goaltenders metrics.

I guess that makes sense, but I still don't understand the thought of shot quality when you acknowledge the lack of advanced statistics for goalies. The information on why Vilde didn't win isn't based on advanced stats, it's running their counting stats into a rate system of SA/game, and using that in combination with the defensive cores and team quality in front of them being wildly different to differentiate between similar stats. That's hard to argue against when RED has given us the tools, and shown how quality of team has a direct, tangible impact on goalie performance that goes beyond goalie TPE.

I think it is natural to ask these questions after the awards show. I know I do it every season about the Bojo. I don't think anyone means for these posts to be a Kanye West to Taylor Swift situation. Just as in real life some awards are clear cut and others have tons a nuance and data that has to be looked at and even then there is usually no clear cut winner. What is hard on the SHL is that a lot of the advanced stats that the committee is looking at aren't known to most members on the site. Being on the award committee is a thankless job and I totally get being annoyed with people arguing with you every season but nobody is ever going to accept every winner let alone nominee.

I'm not saying that the committee needs to justify their picks to the masses or anything. I recognize where both sides stand and do think that this is a helpful dialog to have for the league in general. Surely the discussions are had to denegrate the winners or committee.

Love you guys and all that you do. Let's start the season.

I’m sorry for my rant earlier. Just super frustrating... Goalie is definitely a shallow position that I wish FHM could provide a bit more growth from a statistical basis. I shouldn’t have come in guns blazing like that. Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving if you are stateside... Absolutely thankful for this community.

I agree with the first point, but lets be real, a traffic cone could have carried LAP to a playoff spot, you were competing with SFP who were devastated by cap mistakes by the previous regime and were fielding a glorified junior team.
