S58 PT #5 New Award
#91

An award that my player for sure would win is the award for the Best Defensive Offensive Defensmen that was Expected to Generate more Offense award. My player currently has 9 goals and 11 assists in the SMJHL but has a defensive grade of 70.  Yes that isn't the best in the league by any stretch but when I designed and received help for my player's build it was to make him a dangerous threat on the blueline, and that type of production has never come from him.  However whether its the system I'm in with the Knights or if defense is my natural talent I have excelled at playing in my own zone.  I am looking forward to playing out the rest of the season to see if this style of play changes but as of right now I feel like this is an award I would win or at the very least be in the conversation as a top 3 contender for this type of award.

My award will be the award for worst Corsi. This award will be called the All Out Effort Man Award. To win, you just get out there on the ice, and just suck absolute shit. Never have the puck, and spend all of your time in the defensive zone. This means you have to block a ton of shots and put in a ton of effort since you're always never have the puck and you're always chasing it. Bonus points if you also are known as a Penalty Killing Specialist. Since you have to put in so much effort due to having literally no skill and never having the puck, all of the fans will think you're a super hustler and super great in the defensive zone. As long as they never look at the advanced stats, they'll think you're some kind of defensive shutdown beast of a hockey player.

This award, for Nicolae Antonescu to possibly win, would be named the Friendly Duel Award, given to a player who outperformed his competition within his own team during the regular season. This award is typically split three ways based off of position, so the forward, defense, and goaltending sub-categories are all awarded. Antonescu falls into the goalie category, and would have a fair shake at winning given how he has outperformed his netminding counterpart Geezus Kryyst in the same role. Despite being on the same team and experiencing similar competition, the stats are vastly different between the two. Kryyst is currently sporting a 2-21-1 record with a GAA of 4.89 and a SV% of 0.896, starkly different than Antonescu's 15-19-5 record, while currently nursing a 3.33 GAA and a 0.919 SV%. Given the disparity between the two, Antonescu would be one of the prime candidates to receive the award for the goaltending sub-category.

I give to you, the Dumpster to Diamond Award. This is a very special award given to the player that took a season or two to figure out how things work and are therefor a little behind their draft class, but turned it around to be steals because they started earning once they got the hang of things like basic math and navigating the site. This is an award specifically for the bum-asses and the late bloomers who loved this community so much they turned their fortunes around so that they can reward those players and general managers who took the time to show them the ropes and help them succeed. These are players who get limited ice-time, are low in points and TPE, but strive season after season to be the best they can be. They are great locker room guys who provide heart and determination.

The real questions are: can this award be given to a player multiple years, or is it a one and done situation? Is there a TPE cut off? I don't know, and I may be biased in making this award, but it really is a testament to the community here, and the people who take the time to help grow the clueless into players that are only a little bit of a liability on the ice.

Thank you, and goodnight!

To be fair a good award that Noah Johns would probably be in the running for is most downgraded player or useless player. Yes I am downtalking myself for good reason. For my third season I am way behind what I think I should be so with that being said I think this award would be AMAZING for me! Think about it last time I checked I literally had 9 points which is pretty bad. Plus what am I doing that is really helping the team?? I literally am a Sniper without points which is literally why I am there. That is why I think I should be open for this award. That is just one of the awards Noah is capable of but I think he is a pretty fast player so maybe the fastest skater on the team? I don't really know. But I do know that the Battleborn are doing fairly well with him not producing.

This sounded easy to write about, but finding a reward for one self is hard given the fact I play as a goalie, and trying to find a new and logical reward is challenging. So I will go outside the box if you permit me to. The new reward I choose to create for the goalie category is going to be called "Iron Man".

The "Iron Man" award is uniquely for goalies who play the most hockey. To determine this award, the committee will use the games played category and of coarse the minutes played. That being said, Yanno Rosejac has placed himself right up there with two other contenders for this award. But seeing that Yanno has faced more shots against, made more saves and has equal amount of wins would put him at the very top of this short list of candidates with most games played and most minutes played. Also it does help that Yanno Rosejac is sporting the best game rating with a score of 75.

If I were to introduce a new award, it would be Cassius Darrow Outstanding Captain Award, and Cassius Darrow would win it this season. Why? Because I said so.

That isn’t a good enough reason? Okay, I can expand.

First, Cassius Darrow is the first and only captain in Seattle Argonauts history. Being the first makes him the best. That’s just science, man. He leads the Argonauts franchise records in all sorts of stuff. I lost the sheet that shows exactly what that is, but I KNOW it’s true. At least shots blocked, shifts, time on ice, etc. Maybe hits too—Darrow’s been a solid physical boi recently.

That isn’t good enough? Okay, well Darrow was also the first in a long line of two-time captains for the Colorado Raptors, and has been a great locker room and on-ice leader every stop of the way in his career. In character, he’s first on the ice in the morning and the last off it. Beyond that, people tell me. Darrow/me are great locker room guys, able to keep people engaged and drive locker room activity, which is the key to building a team culture and energy/excitement.

Finally, Cassius Darrow left a perpetual superstar team in Buffalo to help build something new in Seattle at the height of his career. I probably left another Challenge Cup and maybe a Stevens nom off my resume making this jump. That’s gotta count for something right?

So in order for me to win an award this season and seasons to come, I have to tender to my players (Daniel Laforest) strengths. That being said, a tailored award for myself would be called the "Orthoscopic". Given my age and the relative disintegration of my knees, I feel that this award would be a no brainer when handed it out. Players wanting to be nominated or win the award would have to submit an MRI scan at the tail end of the season. Anyone is eligible, but to win you have to have the smallest ratio gap between both the upper femur and the tibia bone. Yes that means there is no cartilage left, the meniscus is worth nothing and the patella enjoys its days roaming around every now and then.

Seeing I have been told by several doctors that I have the knees of a 90 year old man, I feel like this is my award to lose.

Soooooo this is kinda funny because my own award is approaching its third season of existence. Goaliescore is an award based on my proprietary algorithm that ranks goalies based on how many shots they faced and how many they stopped in their time, rewarding goalies who have both a high shots against average and a high save percentage. I have yet to name either of the awards. The Champion of Life award is named after University of Tennessee Butch Jones' famous quote when his team didn't win the championship, he declared that they were "champions of life." This is a reference to the fact that the winner of the award receives nothing, and often has little to no shot at the McBride trophy, the only award that has any actual bearing on the SHL and a player's career milestones. I actually prefer it that way, but having a sort of community recognition of the award would be nice.

The award I would win is the "Everywhere on the Ice" award. Whether it is a timely game-winning goal, or a body-sacrificing blocked shot, I am always trying to get in on the action and help out wherever I can. I have the 2nd most takeaways in Newfoundland this season, and am 1one of only 5 on our team with more takeaways than giveaways. I am tied for the team lead in goals, and 3rd in points. I also have the best shooting percentage for the Berserkers at 15.60%. My hits have dropped off from last season, but I still have 76 through 57 games. My 56 blocked shots are 2nd on the squad. I am doing all of this while getting the 9th most ice time on the team at 17 minutes and 38 seconds per game average. I love throwing my body around, setting up my teammates, scoring timely goals, and doing whatever I can to help us win. I am an unselfish player, but I love to prove what I can do. This award is tailor-made for a player like me, and if I were to win it, I would thank all of my teammates for making it possible. I would also give special mention to my management for believing in my skills and letting me prove myself as a loyal Berserker.

I have a few actually. So let's get this ball rolling.

The Tyler Ward Award- Just rolls of the tongue right. This is award is for the worst back up goaltender in QCC. To get this award you must be the back up goalie in QCC. That's it. Very very simple.

The Keb Keben- The most awesome of awards. To get this one you must be a huge part of your teams LR presence. A memer and a great person all around. You might even be one of the greatest picks in the history of the team but that's not really needed for award. But there is one major thing. Your name must be Keven

The EBOK! - This award goes out to the GM's. Being a great person and fostering an amazing locker room presence. This award is for the GM's who do their best to make their players feel welcome and wanted. For the GM's who like owls and shouting in French. @Evok is really the only one who can win. Sorry!

The zEagle award- This award is for probably my best friend in all of the Sims. A very good guy and funny. 10/10 guy. @zeagle1

The Smith! To win this award you must be a winner! A truly dedicated Goalie and a loving heart. You also need to call everyone your dad. Look I don't make the rules. @Matteo
