S59 mPT #4 Cup Favorite

It's hard to bet against the Hamilton Steelhawks right now. The best point differential in the league, including the #1 offense and #2 defense, makes them pretty hard to beat. Texas is also a real threat.

In the SJMHL, I think Kelowna will win it. They are first in the league by nearly 10 points, but the most impressive part is their goal difference of +95, they are dominating out there.

Of course this isn't a very hot take but Hamilton are definitely the favourites for this cup. Along with already being very good going into this season, they added SLATT Potts at the deadline, who is a big improvement over Alexei Rykov.

The obvious cup favorite this year is Edmonton. The Great Lakes teams numbers are all inflated by playing other Great Lakes teams in what is simultaneously the best and worst division. Come playoff time, the Great Lakes teams will beat the snot out of each other, leaving the team that emerges easy prey for the Blizzard to come out of their own division and, without injuries and battle bruises to contend with, overthrow the Great Lakes teams and prove to everyone that the Great Lakes that just won the East are actually overrated.

Everybody knows it's gonna be yet another hamilton win and those that think otherwise are lying to themselves. This isn't even a simmer rigging in favor of hamilton, they just figured out the engine and are gonna win all future cups until the shl folds

At the end of the season, someone has to win the cup and that team is going to be good and score more goals than their opponents. I think any playoff team can win.

Shout out Ragnarr for these two amazing sigs

Echoing others, it's pretty obvious that Hamilton will win, but I will say if not them I'd bet on Buffalo. Buffalo and Chicago both have a fairly easy path to the Conference Finals, and shouldn't really have any issues getting that far. One of them will play in the Cup Finals guaranteed, and I could see either of them being able to topple the giants that are Hamilton.

it's pretty obvious Hamilton is going to win. they got good players, good color scheme, and tiny penises. that's the best combination to win the cup in the s50s. Previous winners have donated their tiny penises to research, since they don't use them anyways, so that they can figure out the magic science correlation between winning the SHL cup and having a tiny penis.

with the way the standings are looking currently i think its hard to pick anyone but the Hamilton Steelhawks to be the favorites right now. they sit just one point back from 1st in the league... with three less games played than the 1st place team. its hard to argue with that point differential. i think if any other team has a shot at beating them it could be the Texas Renegades. with the least amount of goals scored against them, Texas would really just have to generate a bit more offense to pull it off.

Hamilton is gonna win, probably quite handily. I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that another Great Lakes team will be there losing to them in the finals as well.

I think hamilton is the favourite to win it all, just like they have been for the past few seasons. Their top players of Aaron Wilson, Elijah Jones and Theo Morgan are just too good, with MVDH coming into his own and their two top dmen in Michaud and Jazz killing it as well. Lots of skill is still there.

Chicago is at the top of the standings right now, so the nod for cup favorite must be them, but don't count the Hamilton Steelhawks are out of it yet and it seems like a lot of this thread agrees.

The playoffs are a different animal and so that means a different animal will win this season to the previous few. That makes the LA Panthers and the San Francisco Pride clear favourites.

Everyone is going to say Hamilton. But if you look at Head-to-Head records. Buffalo Stampede has beaten the Steelhawks 4 times out of the 6 games played. Buffalo also outscored Hamilton in those games as well. Those 4 games make up almost 50% of all Hamilton losses this season. So if I was to pick a Cup favorite it is the Buffalo Stampede.

Thanks to @DELIRIVM @sköldpaddor @Merica for the Sigs

So, the majority seem to think Hamilton will walk away with this one.... but being in a division where the 4th team has a better record than the team leading the Western Conference could breed a bit of complacency. Texas have been extremely solid at the back, and the best offence is a good defence (that is definitely the saying, no further questions), so I think the Renegades might sneak it, by stifling the offensive fire of their opponents.
