This might be the most obvious answer to make , and probably the easiest way to go is with the Hamilton Steelhawks. That would be my best guess because they seem to always win.
The Panthers will obviously win the cup. All season long we have just been conserving our energy, and now with the playoffs the Great Lakes Division will get destroyed once they face us.
San Fran Pride are my definite cup favourites. Or maybe a bit like a dark horse. But some really strong deadline moves, some really fine form coming into the playoffs. SFP can go super far this time around.
I think Buffalo has the chance to go all the way this season. They've put up good numbers during the regular season and have been doing well in close series last year.
I wanted some sort of more definite way to see whether there was a pattern to semi predict the slight chaos that is FHM. In general there’s enough predictability that you could say that the top 4-5 teams are all but a guarantee to meet in the Conference Finals. In seasons’ past this might have been 3 teams at most so increasingly the parity of the team continues to level out. I would imagine this number only increases when the divisional changes are made and fewer teams suffer from a Great Lakes scenario of being better than almost everybody but still not making the playoffs.
What’s clear about cup winners compared to the rest of the rabble is the degree to which they dominate teams. That means possession and overwhelming with shots for while minimizing against. That isn’t enough to simply predict a singular winner, so what about ‘luck’ as well? You have to be good to be lucky and vice versa. So with the following 3 sets of graphs from S55/S57/S59, we’ll see if there are any standouts
S55 Cup Winner: Buffalo
In S55, we saw quite a few teams all tightly grouped, making it for a tough batch to get of, but a clear #1 in terms of possession and PDO combination in Buffalo, who ended up winning in 7 over New Orleans.
S57 Cup Winner: Chicago
S57, it ends up being a clear 1 and 2 with Chicago and Hamilton, with Hamilton having the slight edge in possession but Chicago having a higher PDO. In the end, Chicago beats Hamilton in 5, despite barely making it out against Manhattan and Buffalo just prior.
S59 Cup Winner:???
S59, it’s a bit tougher to say. Chicago has shown to be the best defensively in suppression shots, whereas Hamilton and Buffalo are slightly better in generating shots. The clear ones standing out are Hamilton and Texas in terms of PDO, Texas especially so. If the theory of strong corsi and PDO are consistent enough as they’ve shown so far with the ‘hotter’ team going into the playoffs of Buffalo and Chicago having won in the past, that means this is most likely Hamilton or Texas’ season to win.
Going to have to go with Hamilton given their very recent history of winning in S53, S56, S58 and having won the regular season series 2-0 with a combined score of 8-3.
Wow well I mean who couldbe teh cup favorite if it is not Atlanta. The inferno are the greatest team in teh SHL and they are led by a lot of great players and therefore will win
I have to say Hamilton. They have still strong team, solid performance at Regular Season and they already won few cups. They have also Jobin, who have two cute dogs and a cat! Rilo, Molly and Titus! They all are cuties!

Who's gonna win the cup? That seems like an easy answer. Obviously @micool132 is going to win the cup. He's become quite famous on discord for posting as such. The man has spoken.
Favorites has to be one of the regular winners the past seasons. The Great Lakes teams are still performing at the the top of league level so it has to be one of them. I am saying Hamilton is the favorite because of many seasons of solid chances.

I hate to be boring but that’s the state of the league these days. Hamilton are the favorite and will probably walk away with another Cup unless something crazy happens.
I believe that the Cup favorite is once again in the Great Lakes. Any one of the three teams that play in the Great Lakes could make a serious run at the cup, so I imagine, Hamilton, Chicago, and Buffalo will all be contenders, with two of them again playing in the finals.
Well i hope someone else then a great lakes team wins and the team with the highest chances are texas in my opinion so i am rooting for texas! Also fuck the great lakes
As much as I'd like to say that my San Francisco Pride would win, I just don't see it in the cards quite yet. I think that if I had to take a guess I'd say Hamilton.
In all honesty, I know that playoffs are different than the regular season, but I truly believe that Hamilton are the current favorites to win it. They've had such a dominant season and have some incredible top players. I just don't see how anyone beats them.
