HAM Punishment and Ruling on Draftee Signings

I'll do it. Head Office had come to the decision to have all three players go to bidding, as that was consistent with the rules shared and explained clearly and explicitly to SHL GMs. We determined that Jack Crasher rule, which Hamilton attempted to argue as valid, was not relevant here.

Quote:This is not a jack crasher rule because they are not FA's, they are Draftees. So it does not apply to them

From Section 3, subsection L, 1.a
GM’s have until the day before GM tasks to have their draftees signed or tendered. You can tender your draftees by posting a minimum contract offer of $2.5 mil in the RFA/Draftee Chicken Tenders thread.

The GM did not tender or sign their player, therefore they go to the bidding portion of the rules

Because Hamilton GMs failed to post the contracts ONTO the site or post tender offers before the deadline, the contracts they offered were invalid. Therefore, the players go to bidding.

Hamilton fucked up so badly that the only non-mostly IA owner, Mr. Steelhawk himself, had to swoop in to save them. Wouldn’t even allow HO to do their jobs.

Not that an appeal would’ve mattered anyway.

Nope. No bias there.

It’s fine the guys stick with Hamilton. That’s whatever. But this punishment of a “so far into the future other teams can’t even trade it yet (but I guess they can because rules don’t matter)” 2nd rounder when these players will be at their peak is the single biggest disgrace of a punishment on this site of all time ever.

I think that's what we all also assumed since we have the ability to read. Well, I won't speak for everyone I guess.

This part here feels weird to me. Hamilton could have been granted an extension of time for their GM tasks since of either 12 or 24 hours. There wasn't a big need for the owners to step in to rush to a decision from my POV.

Props to HO for doing it right then.

This is my favorite thing to do now that I know Discord DMs count for something. You can also edit the date, the username, hell, even their profile picture. If someone actually wanted to do harm with this, they definitely could.
@Memento Mori I think this gives you the perfect answer. Python did this to me as a joke. Imagine someone with malicious intents. A GM wanting to sign a FA after getting rejected, perhaps.
We've not seen a spate of unjust punishments due to people falsely accusing others of harassing them/abusing them/tampering them via discord DMs, what makes you think it's going to start now? This is not the first time discord DMs have been taken into account in a sim league punishment.

When I was the NEW GM, I was fired because the rulebook was black and white. The HO error on managing the pick tracker was irrelevant because the rulebook was clear.

The rulebook seems clear in this case too.

Seems like different results for different teams, and different results for different users.

I would argue the biggest disgrace of a punishment was removing @JumpierPegasus from HO but this is close

As shown, it really had nothing to do with the timing. HO made a decision that Teddy disagreed with, and so made the ruling and made it absolute. The timing thing is a red herring.

Tbf imo the probation is the harshest part of the punishment. Any single mistake for this season and next season results in automatic termination (or at least it should) of both GMs.

That being said, someone already mentioned it but it's entirely possible that the GMs affected by the loss of the 2nd rounder aren't even the same GMs being punished here.
