the more tense situation is always being down a goal. being down a point is losing. some people say losing does not matter, it's what you take from your loss and how you get ready for next time. that is true at certain stages of your career. atom, u17, major juniors. your growth and individual potential are more important. in the big leagues though? losing means you did not do enough. losing means you did not have the skills it takes. losing means there is someone, or some people, better than you. losing is your spot on the top line. losing is money on your next contract. you have to win to prove your value, or else you will get shipped off to the highest bidder and replaced with someone hungrier, someone unproven. being behind by one means you are one step closer to being out the door on your ass with nothing but the clothes on your back.

After being roommates for years, Tom Fiddler and Michael Fitted finally decided to platonically tie the knot and get married in order to reap the reward of the sweet tax benefits. When the day of reconning was upon us, the two gents decided on a best man for each procession. Naturally, Ambacas Cuddles was chosen to be the best man for Fitted. Much to the chagrin of player-manager, Dwight Knight, Zolton Topalo was chosen as the best man for Tom Fiddler. Dwight was deeply hurt by this. He already had his wedding speech written out and ready to go. When the dust finally settled and the wedding was over, Fiddler and Fitted hopped into the limo for their bro-honeymoon to Gary, Indiana. Just before Fidds closed the door, Dwight stops him. He whispers something into his ear. “I traded you to Toronto”. He closes the door. Tom stares blankly into space in total shock. The two got divorced soon after.

For me the most tense game to watch is elimination games. Stressful enough already, there have been a couple games where my team will be down by one as time winds down that only winds me up. It's a fifty-fifty chance at what could be a huge sigh of relief and major excitement or temporary dread and sadness as you are forced to look ahead to the next season. I have experienced both ends of the spectrum both as a real life fan of the Ottawa Senators and in my JGHL teams. Regina is still a new franchise and will have plenty of time to create these moments as we cement ourselves as playoff contenders.

The wedding shall be between Pasta the Turtle and Narboza Manyhands. This marriage came about as a means of a treaty that allows the SHL to exist and continue during the coming invasion from the Andelions. But in case the Earth Defense Force is reading this, it's just because a Turtle and an Alien fell in love and decided to share that publicly among friends and family. The wedding was held in Melbourne Australia where it was conducted by Ric Charlesworth. At the wedding everyone was required to do 3 shots of Jager before entering, pledge to play in the beer pong tournament, and then finally pledge allegiance to the Andelion Space Federation. At the wedding Vaseline Podcalzone pulled off the amazing feat of winning the beer pong tournament without ever having to drink a single beer. It was remarked as being the greatest game of beer pong ever played. When the events were over Narboza and Pasta signed the treaty that will protect the SHL... for now.

The nerves coming from close games are off the charts in my opinion. They say the hardest lead in hockey is a 2-goal lead because you can get complacent. Although that may be true, 1-goal games can be just as nerve wracking. In the case of a 1-goal lead, you are on edge the entire time as a single simple slipup could mean all momentum can shift away from you. Even if you feel like turtling and going for a full defense, you allow the other team to get momentum and pressure mounting. This can lead directly to the second scenario, the tie game late in the third period. Both teams know that they want to end the game in regulation, not only for standings but also to conserve energy for the next game as well as reduce injury risk. At the same time, you are being put under pressure to at the very least keep things even to get that OT point. One slipup and you fall into the third scenario, falling behind by 1-goal. This is a hard one on a few different levels. First, you know you need to score to even keep the chance of getting a point, but you also don't want to go full offense and no defense as you open the risk of falling further behind. Even still, this is a scenario where you have little to lose by not taking risks and therefore of the 3 I feel it is the least stressful.

Given that im not an Atlanta falcons fan I don’t mind playing with the lead. I would say the scariest moment is when you’re in a tie game because you don’t have any cushion and every single play get some sort of reaction and you’re trying to calculate all the possibilities. Your expectations are to win but you don’t have anything to cushion the blow.

When you’re one behind you’re already losing and you can accept defeat. Its terrible but it’s a realistic outcome and one you can expect when you don’t have a lead and the game continues to move forwards.

When you’re ahead you hope not to blow a lead but at the same time you have the lead and you’d much rather not be playing from behind or tied. You have the cushion and it wont stress you at as much as when losing is a real possibility or any play can make you lose at any second.

I think how tense i am while watching a game depends on how the games been going and the matchup and the context. If its a regular season game then its already not that tense except maybe if there was an old great lakes level division with every game mattering for a playoff spot and each team have some shot at the cup. I think overtime playoff games are easily the most tense ones that I've see, especially in close series. Leading by one is probably the least tense even though there's the feeling of you can blow it but again it probably depends on the context of the game, if you're trailing by one and the shots are heavily in your favour you're probably depressed that you're getting goalied compared to if it was the other way around you're happy to be lucky enough to have the lead or be in the game at all.

Up by 1 because whenever the puck is in the d zone you are absolutely paranoid and have no idea what is going to happen. A goal against is absolutely deflating and inflates the other team (not the fetish), meaning that it can be an absolute deal breaker and decide a game if it gets tied up late. When it is tied it is stressful, but chances at both ends mean something special and it's exciting. down by 1, you are either putting crazy pressure on the other team and it's at least exciting to watch even though it is crazy nerve wracking. When you score when down by 1 it is so elating and picks your entire team up. Same thing when you score while tied. if you score while up by 1 it isn't as elating and the other team can still easily swing momentum

Being down by 1 though definitely creates a unique level of pressure and you really blame yourself if you give up that tying goal
