S63 PT #2: Dress to in Press

Prompt 2.

Person conducting the interview - how do you feel about the dual prompt pt thing slash put in?

Cormac Pónaire - it's a great system. Really helps to let guys get their pt's done when they struggle with one of the prompts
The real question is why are you asking me about the pt system when you could ask me about my game?

Person conducting the interview - well since this is getting posted as a pt, I figured it was worth asking. Anyway, how do you feel about your performance this season? Especially knowing you have a contract coming up?

Cormac Pónaire - I mean, 17 points in 35 games isn't too terrible. I need to step it up some, but that also means I need to get some time to word vomit a media to buy equipment. It turns out having 2 kids, that's a really hard thing to find time to do. In regards to contract, there's been some talk there. I don't want to play for any team other than Los Angeles, so I hope we can come to an agreement. But, that's something to worry about after the season emds.

ATTENTION! SPOILERS AHEAD! You've been warned.

Here's Spanky McChopper with an interview with Sekai Wollker!

Spanky: I'm sorry? but what do you think about the Book of Boba Fett so far?

Wollker: Personally I think it's great so far, but one thing that would make it better would be an appearance by Luke Skywalker.

Spanky: That would be spectacular to be sure, but don't you think it's already been done at the end of Mandalorian? Too much of a good thing maybe?

Wollker: Dude. It's Luke-Fucking-Skywalker. He got done dirty in the movies. Let him be the great one at his peak. Why not. I mean, he's from Tattoine. Wouldn't he be somewhat interested in what's going on there. Even just to spit on Jabba's grave?. Tell me that wouldn't be awesome.

Spanky: Of course. I can't deny that.

Wollker: Ok then what were we talking about?

Spanky: I actually asked how the Minnesota Monarchs were doing this year, but the Book of Boba Fett is way more awesome.

Wollker: That dark saber tho hey?

There really is only one person in the team whose press briefing Friedensreich Hundertwasser would want to infiltrate and that is Nikolaj Boyle. There would be a number of questions I'd like to ask, who has the mother dough for your dour dough bread?
Why do you always smell vaguely like fermented fish?
Who is your daddy and what does he do?

I feel Boyle would be the perfect candidate for this as he is a known troll himself so it would feel good to get one back over on him for the rest of the team.

We'd definitely need to out in at least one question about his womanising ways and a couple about the number of holes in his boxer briefs (seriously, it's like a mouse has been let loose torn there, an absolute disaster.
. I'd finish it off by asking if his sister is single and for her phone number.

Prompt 2

After a pretty hot start to the season, you seemed to cool off for a bit and have found your scoring touch again recently. What happened and how did you find your game again?

Yeah, I hit a bit of a rough patch there for a bit. The coaches implemented a new game plan and it worked wonders in regards to the team’s success. I had some trouble adjusting to the new play style. It wasn’t that frustrating for me. Of course, I pride myself on my offensive production but the overall success of the team comes first. In the last few games, I finally feel confident in understanding how the system should be played. I got out of my head and just followed to game plan to a T.

What are your goals for the remainder of the season?

At the moment, I am just focused on getting stronger and working on possible playoff matchups. We have a little bit of an advantage of knowing that we are going to be making it into the post season. On a personal level, I’m hoping to at least match my point production from last year.

Written Task:  Play out an interview with your player and the press. You can switch between bold/italics and regular text to differentiate between the two parties involved. Ask any questions you think are relevant, it could be about a certain game, season, cup win, whatever you choose. Include your player's answers to the questions (150+ words).

ESPN journalist and sportscaster Steve Levy sat down with Detroit defenseman Zayne Dangle to discuss his future and how this season has gone so far.

Levy: Good morning Zayne. During this offseason you were traded to Detroit after 2 great seasons with the Colorado Raptors. Can you tell me about the transition and the feelings on the move?

Dangle: Thanks for the opportunity Steve. The move was something that caught me off guard. I really thought I would finish my SMJHL career in Colorado, but I understand it is part of the business. They are playing really good hockey now and I am happy for them and for the friends I made there. Detroit has been so welcoming and I really appreciate the management for bringing me in to help build something special. Obviously this season hasn't gone as planned, but we are getting better each game.

Levy: What are your thoughts on the changing of GM's in MTL with Infy stepping down? This seems to be a trend in MTL now.

Dangle: It definitely has me questioning my future. I have so much respect for Infy and what he has build so far in MTL. On the other hand this is the 3rd? 4th? GM in the short time that MTL has been around. As someone who is very involved in the league I really need to sit down and think about about what I want. I will give whoever the next GM is a fair shake, but I also have to think about my future.

Prompt #2

Press (P): The Berserkers are sitting atop the league after 31 games, what makes this team so special?
Buck (B): We've got a great group of guys, that commit themselves to the team and to the success of the team. Our captains and coaches motivate us and push us to be the best. We've also had a great group of rookies come into the team that have been keeping pace with those of us who have been around for a bit and create competition to be better.

P: Buck it's been noticed that you've been in a slump recently, what needs to change?
B: For me it's everything. I need to reset and get back to the basics. The Berserkers hold ourselves to a high standard and if we can't meet those then we have to get back to the fundamentals and reset.

P: Any final thoughts?
B: Thanks for the time and having me. Hopefully the next time you interview me I'll be celebrating another 4 Star with the Zerks

Prompt 2.

We're here today with the great Esa Parmborg to ask a few questions, welcome Mr. Parmborg, thanks for joining us.

Thanks for having me, I skipped lunch for this so it better be good.

We'll do our best sir. So how is the season going for your team and player so far?

We're doing ok as a team, could be doing a lot better but we had a tough early season schedule, we've been picking up more points the last few games so we should be able to get hot and make the playoffs. I'm doing ok, scoring some points but could be doing a lot more out there. Regression hit me pretty hard but I've managed to score some clutch goals and set up a few more.

We noticed you lost over 400tpe in regression, that's a lot, how much longer do you see yourself playing?

You'll have to pry the stick from my dead hands, I will play as long as Calgary has a spot open for me.

We noticed Calgary has some great young players, what can you say about them?

We definitely do, led by last seasons rookie of the year Alexis Saint-Michel who has loads of talent and also Videl Valor who has a ton of talent and also had a great rookie season. Then we have young defenseman like A-Rye Izzy and Richard LaFleur who are coming into their prime and Eero Makela not too far behind. Prospect players like Mandossen, Mackenzie and Creller are also looking strong in the minors, so we have some high end young talent, led by our primetime stud Luukas Lilja who is about to become a superstar,

Recently we saw your old teammate Otis B Driftwood be entered into the Hall of Fame, any comments about that?

Yes I was so happy to see him get into the SHL Hall of Fame, he is one of the best defenseman to ever play the game, especially on the defensive side of things. He was a huge part of Calgary's success in the S40's and 50's and is so well deserving of making the hall. It couldn't happen to a better person, he was an amazing Captain and leader for the Dragons in his time here.

Is it true that former Dragon and fututre Hall of Famer Kata Vilde is opening a donut stand outside the BIG Parm arena?

Yes it's true and tbh I'm pretty excited about it.  I'm planning on getting a dozen boston cream donuts before every home game.

Well thanks for joining us, now go get lunch.

Elizabeth Doyle will clearly try to infiltrate Chimkin Wing's press conference. She would disguise herself as best as possible so Wing would not recognize her. The goal of infiltrating the press conference would be to question him on his reason to switch from goalies to a winger a few years ago. It's said it's because she was so established as the Buffalo Stampede goaltender that he didn't want to compete with her or risk being shipped away from the organization, like it happened with Thor a few years before him. She would like to make sure that he does not regret this decision to this day and that he actually enjoy being a winger for one of the best franchise in the simulation hockey league. After making sure of all of this, she would exit the interview without ever revealing to Wing that it was her, as the goal is not to annoy him or irritate him but just to make sure he's now comfortable in his new role.

Prompt 2, because I lack personality Wink

Press 1: Hey Lemo, we’re almost at the halfway point of the season and we’ve been seeing a whole new level of play from you this season. What can you attribute this elevation to?

Lemo: Hey, man! This season’s been something else for me, for sure. I think it’s come together from a few things. I had a great offseason despite having to play all the way into the summer with the Challenge Cup and then the whole IIHF tournament to boot. But I feel like I got just enough rest before getting back into training for the new season and in a way the long postseason meant that I was less removed from meaningful games and also winning that second CC and the IIHF championship to boot in the same postseason was such a thrill that I can’t wait to have another shot at repeating both. I’m also feeling like I’m in the best form of my life so far right now and the coaches are seeing it too and trusting me with more icetime and a more offensive role than I’ve had opportunity to play before at this level and I’m really grateful for that and just trying to succeed in whatever I’m tasked with.

Press 2: What about your linemates this season? You’re flanking fellow Armada alumnus Theo Kondos this season instead of Ed Williams like last season.

Lemo: We have some great chemistry with Theo right now, for sure! We’re feeding off each other’s energy and enthusiasm and reading each other really well. I hope this keeps up! Last season on Ed’s line I was more in a defensive forward role, but now with Theo also in the form of his life, we’re both being given a bit more freedom to exercise our offensive instincts too, while High (Haschdi) has assumed the more defensive stance.

Press 2: What are your thoughts on the rest of the league at this halfway point?

Lemo: I haven’t really been paying too much attention to what goes on in the standings, just trying to focus on our own games, but I hear Baltimore is having a crazy season pretty similar to what Chicago had last season. And some of the usual suspects in Buffalo and Chicago and Tampa Bay had kind of rough starts, but they also seem to be coming back into their own by now. It’s sad to see Atlanta now dropping downwards in the table - they would be a great feel-good story for the league if they could keep up and make some noise in the playoffs as well, but we’ll see… And as much as I’d like to help with the perceived parity issue in the league, I hope we do have a new finalist from the East this season, but not a new champion. Because we are definitely gunning for a repeat ourselves!

Press 1: How do you like your chances?

Lemo: I like them. We’ve had some unexpectedly tough times getting outgoalied by some bottow-dwelling teams, but we’ve performed well against the top teams. We have three high quality lines with excellent experience among all of them and one of the best starting goaltenders in the league. Not to mention one of the best coaching teams. We can do it! I believe we can!

After 69 shots on net with still no SHL goals to show for it, even the opposition started to feel so sorry for Lemo, that they decided to help him out :D
- Bad pass by Jack Klompus, he gave it right to Lemo Pihl.
- Lemo Pihl rips it to the net...
- Lemo Pihl will find the empty net, that should do it!
TEX @ MAN, S59 game 31

William Hartmann @boom was traded form the Edmonton Blizzard to the Toronto Northstars just before the deadline. The Northstars window is certainly open, and the abilities of a rental Hartmann bodes well for a team with a very uphill postseason battle. The trade was leaked before the day's game, so Hartmann was allowed to play in the game and the GM (himself) didn't pull himself out of the game for health or injury reasons.

The media team snuck Julio into the back of the press room in a trenchcoat (the best sneaking attire) and told him to ask his questions when things cooled down.

Julio didn't know that Hartmann was being traded, so overhearing the real journalists ask their questions about the move made Julio very upset. He thrives on being improvisational, but his questions were only ones like:

Why are you leaving?

Do you not like it here with us? In Edmonton? Are you mad at us?

Is it something that I did?

Is Tony Pepperoni coming back?

Why do people always leave me?

If you're moving to Toronto, can I borrow your snow tires for the rest of the season? if you remember, i lent them to you as a rookie, and you kind o never paid me back, but i if i could use them for the rest of the season, that would be cool, i'd call it even.
