Prompt 1

The first step towards fixing the teams financial situation is the establishment of the “Players of Atlanta Calendar” in an attempt to use our good looks to make some money. We’re sponsoring the calendar with some random company like Bass Pro Shops so we actually have places to sell them at the cost of having to pose in our suits and underwear on things like hunting outposts and boats that cost way too much money. The second step towards fixing the financial situation will be going with the time honored tradition for money making, bake sales. The team has several well known bakers, and Evgeni Petrov, who would be more than happy to lend their talents to financing the team we know and love. I heard Eko Van Otter would be making something special and tasty, and it may or may not contain weed, but we love him for showing that even GMs can get along with the players in times of crisis.

Player prompt.

Look, everyone knows that Alex is all about the Pride. He stayed during the deepest, darkest parts of the rebuild because he cares about the team and knew that a veteran locker room presence was going to be big in developing the new guys and maybe getting some free agents in. He knows what this team has been through and that makes him even more motivated to help the team to reach their highest highs in any way they can. So if the Pride asks Alex to take less money then he has no problem doing that. He's had a good long career and made a good amount of money anyway, so he's happy to bring on the hometown discount. Even in taking less money he's still getting paid quite a bit of cash just to play the game he loves with people he really enjoys hanging around. The younger guys need the money more than him anyway. He can still have sushi whenever he wants.

CREATIVE PROMPT

I have a million ideas to help my beloved Winnipeg Aurora earn some extra dough to refill their coffers. First, I would start charing extra - the quality of play with new star players coming up through the system is exciting and sure to add a premium to the butts in the seats. Second, we would begin charging separately for hotdogs and hotdog buns. When you go to the grocery store to buy a pack of hotdogs they do not just come with buns for free. If someone wants a hotdog... hand them a weiner, if they want a bun then they can pay to turn it into a sandwich. Third, I add new premium seating in the form of above-ice suspension hanging harnesses. Allowing fans with deep pockets to fly above the action! Finally, I'd install those old-school commemorative penny presses and those weird round plastic things you can watch you change spin around and around until it falls in the whole to collect folks' loose change.

Player prompt:

I would be taking the minimum although If I was on a bad team I would probably ask for more because being on a bad team is rough. If my team is in a decent position I would be more than willing to take the minimum amount possible to help the team win.
Overall, Liam Slate is not really about the money as his bank account and family does have quite a bit of money, therefore Liam Slate is mostly in it for the game of hockey and trying to win. Winning is the most important thing as Slate is currently at the peak of his career and it will mostly go down from here. Slate likely has a few more seasons left in him before he considered retirement. If taking less money on a contract will help Liam Slate get a Challenge Cup, then he will do it no questions asked. Liam Slate is saving money for his retirement as it will be coming soon

Prompt 1

Beyond the fact that the team is going to beat the GM's nephew for doing such an insanely stupid thing, I would expect charges to be filed as well for some sort of embezzlement. But once the money is gone there is no going back in time so we will have to deal with it. We could have the team do a number of public appearances for fundraising. There are some of the basics that we have seen in the past such as "Meet the team" events, casino nights, creating merchandise such as cards and calendars, we will probably need to get more creative.

Initially I would try to offer some type of personalized hockey training and have a player or coach attend one on one time with a budding player to give tips. We should be able to charge a significant amount on a per hour basis for this type of specialized training. We could also offer coaching clinics with high school coaches to show the best drills to perform and to find the best ways of improving results on the ice.

As that will likely not cover everything, we can also farm out the team for labor. Who would not want to see @G2019 out there cutting your grass? Or @ctots being your pool boy for the summer? I'm sure there is a small, but very willing, set of fans that would pay a premium price to have that happen.

A tough situation. However, a solution can be found on the one hand and on the other. As a young player, I may not have as much importance as I get. But I think it could already be a big impression in the future, and it would be very much to think about whether to accept such a step. But let's say it's happening right now. I certainly concede, especially since I adore my team. Both Detroit and Toronto. Both teams are very fond of me. Although I have not been debited to Toronto, there is a bright future for me, and I am certainly prepared to sign contracts that would be worth less than necessary. My main goal is to be the best player in the team and not be disturbed by new contracts or various other things. I must have lived a little more frugal, but I'm used to it, because I didn't live any golden life in the scrub either. The main thing in life has always been hockey.

Well, I've been pretty shit at building a bank balance. I'm sure most people who've been around as long as I have probably have 50 million or more kicking around. That being said, I don't think I'd ever demand more than what the minimum is for my TPE tier. I think developing a team is hard enough, without having to overpay players, especially bums like Jarmo. I think Jarmo is a pretty humble life kind of guy. Traded to Texas, picked up farming when he bought a small ranch. So of course, he's got bills to pay there. He doesn't need much cash, hence why he doesn't earn a lot of it. In his spare time, other than the farming, he does have a rather expensive comic book collection which takes up some extra cash. He could plan on heading to free agency after this season to try and earn a few bucks to pay for that.

I can't believe Sconnie McHits would spend all the teams money on trading cards and then expect all of us to take team friendly deals. What kind of GM does that? Surely his coGM would do a better job than that. The good news is even if McHits is irresponsible with his money, Dangle is not. Having always been a team first player he would take a minimum contract and never bat an eye. Off the ice Dangle lives very frugal. He doesn't buy expensive houses and expensive cars. Instead he likes to give back to the community, friends and his family back home. He isn't set for life though. His family is very much middle class and he just likes to live  how his family does back home. There is no summer house, no mountain home, no Ferraris and other exotic cars. In fact, Dangle drives a 1979 Ford Bronco that he has been working to restore himself on the weekends.

Anton Harrier enters the General Manager's office, hands behind his back as he does so. He seems pretty lackadaisical, not worried in the slightest. That ends up contrasting with the general manager, who by now seems to be at his tether's end after hours of negotiating. Thankfully, Anton Harrier was known to be pretty easy to deal with when it came to contract talks, which meant that he could perhaps get him for less.

GM: So, Harrier, normally I wouldn't call you up but we have a problem.
Harrier: Huh. As in?
GM: Well, as you may have heard, the team had to deal with some financial blows recently.
Harrier: Is it from that bit where your nephew blew a ton of money on pictures of monkeys or something?
GM: Now, I can't privy you about it.
Harrier: Eh, why not? I could get the money back.

Silence followed.

GM: ...You could?
Harrier: Aye, sure.

He then left the room in a rush. The day after, the entirety of the funds blown by the treasurer was returned to the team with an incoherent apology letter. To this day, nobody knows what Harrier did.

CREATIVE PROMPT - Lets think this through, as everyone is keeping their job you can't have one guy doing work of the two as there is only so much to do around the hockey team, specially true for the players and coaches. I think as Texas is such a hot place to begin with, though winter is bit better, it is extremely expensive to keep arena cold enough for hockey so I'd say the team should move to Ottawa for rest of the season as it should have colder climate and naturally has pretty decent hockey following to keep seats occupied. Also as it wasn't specified in the prompt I think it is only fair for some of the employees to be reallocated to new jobs so we can use the Canadian resources to our advantages, not only we are changing back to wooden sticks but we are also sending some of the supporting staff to make them from scratch, no one will notice few missing trees in Canada anyway.

Player Prompt
Valérian Sauveterre is a reasonable individual. He is willing to take a small wage cut if the team is contenders for the Cup. He doesn't worry about money. He has a budget for every dollar that he makes and does not deviate from the budget. With the inclusion of helpful parents, he doesn't need to worry about not having enough. As long as his needs and some of his wants are met, he is happy. He is also a compassion man, giving money to charities that help people both locally and abroad. Given that he is a sports star in Las Vegas, most casinos treat his as a VIP which is nice. The most expensive possessions include a electric motorcycle for getting around, a quality suit for public appearance, and the latest game consoles with the games he wants. Image is everything in Vegas. If he can appear wealthy, most people will assume that he is wealthy.

Written Task: This season you have to save money and quick! How do you do it? The only rule is that nobody loses their job! The SHL puts workers first, so you gotta get creative! Does the whole team go back to wooden sticks? Do you take a lucrative dairy sponsorship and skate on frozen milk instead of ice? Or do you go absolutely bonkers and do something like raise ticket prices? (150+ words)

To help raise funds to pay for all the expanses a hockey franchise fases the Winnipeg front offce has decided on a new buisness adventure. You know how the scouts will go by peoples houses selling cookies to try and raise money for their organizations. Well that is kinda what the Aurora and its players will be doing this season. Each player will be allocated a certain area of the city and they will have to go door to door in order to sell the cookies to anyone who wants to buy them. A small prize will be given to the player who is able to sell the most boxes of cookies. The current plan is or all the players to go out on their off days. The board expects the iniciative to go well, they have been quoted saying "People loves cookies and people love the Aurora. There has to be an overlapping population that can help us out here".
