S64 mPT #4: A Well Earned Break
#16

I guess this would be a J team location but I'd love to go Colorado with the whole team and hit the slopes at Breckenridge and when I say "hit the slopes" I mean find somewhere to smash a few, or 12, beers and then try not to hurt ourselves too badly when strap the snowboards on.

Do we have teams somewhere near the beach? With good weather? If so, that is exactly where Cue would end up for a break, nothing beats that, sun, beach, cold drinks and people in bikinis.

Miguel is super into quiet rest and relaxation, so he would probably head back to Maine, where he spent the beginning of his career, to enjoy several days of relaxing in a secluded cabin in the woods.

If Rinky had a few days off, he and his significant other would spend some time in Inverness.  They like the quiet, yet sophisticated, atmosphere of the small northern city.  While they are in Inverness, of course they would go a wee bit South to Loch Ness to search for Nessie.  On the shores of Loch Ness there are two Nessie museums. one propagating the existence of the creature, the other debunking everything as myth.

Kavanagh does enjoy his off days, almost as much as he enjoys game day. When not playing hockey, Cillian can be found hanging with friends at the house, playing pool, poker and just chilling out. He also spends a majority of his time gaming, playing various shooters in order to keep his reaction times up.

Seattle has two away games in Tampa Bay that are separated by three days. Obviously, I'm going to take advantage of the time to have my old buddy Strom Chamberlain from Anaheim show me around the town. Maybe we'll go to a Bucs game.

I would go for the two extremes, ice and fire if you will: One very warm and sunny place like Los Angeles or San Francisco, and then one cold and rather remote one like Edmonton. The former for the holiday feeling, and the latter for the novelty of it because I'm really not very familiar with the great and icy white north.

Dirty Boots is on the way to Atlanta to face off against the Inferno. It's definitely a competitive and fast paced game but Boots is sure to take time to hang out with Anton Mihailov and Burlock Sulfurgold. Atlanta has plenty of nice weather for some sun and Boots would hope that Burlock and Anton would take him to some great places to eat and hang out with the guys!

Somehow I've never been to Vancouver, so I think that would be my favourite place to get a weekend off in. Seeing mountains rules and everyone I know that's visited has loved it. I don't know any players from out there off the top of my head but I'm sure I could hit up some of the SHL group chats to find someone to show me around!

This exact scenario actually happened already to Konstantin Selich when the Buffalo Stampede were in Toronto, he went on a small foodie trip with Greyson Cooper his teammate from their days playing in the SMJHL for the Citadelles in Quebec. Cooper and Selich got to taste some nice Omakase in the Yasu Toronto.

Dickbutt wants to chill in Yellowknife. There's nothing there but he has to know if there's actually a yellow knife hidden somewhere in the town.

For our three day break in Seattle I'm not staying in any five-star hotel, the best place to be is the Gunnurt home, complete with good food, good drinks, and great company.

If there was off time, the S62 class would have a meetup somewhere central to all the teams to hangout. We would even invite the great mentors that have put up with us for four seasons. Looking at a map I think Detroit would actually be center of all the places people would be coming from. Idk if Detroit is somewhere you visit though.

It has slim chances of happening since I play for the Edmonton Blizzard, but I think Manhattan is a given. You can use your days off to visit the Big Apple and go check famous landmarks like the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty.

It's a toss up for me, between Los Angeles and New Orleans. Los Angeles, I'd definitely go check out a Rams game, try and do some celebrity sighting and just enjoy the beautiful weather. Maybe in New Orleans, I'd just enjoy the history and the music, maybe take in some Mardi Gras celebrations.
