Hello everyone, it’s been a couple of weeks since I have written a non-mental health related article. Today I will be talking about a much more serious topic, I will be testing out free agency when this season comes to an end. I am still open to returning to Toronto if the stars align (I had to make that bad pun, sorry not sorry). I have had a quite the "rough" career so far, starting off as a UDFA in The J, and a partnership with a good friend that isn’t with us anymore (I am still crying due to this). Getting traded to another team in the j, winning a cup there, then going undrafted in the SHL. That would be hard to handle for any young player. Then I finally get drafted only to be cut by that team due to "Mental Health" reasons, which nobody should have to endure. Then I signed with another team, it all seemed well until I discovered that the previous gm had a big mouth and tried to stop me from becoming gm of that team, which had me concerned about my safety. So I had to press the ejection button. (There is no Goose here luckily). The next team was welcoming at first, until management changed hands when I least expected it to be, and then I get traded again.
Which leads to where I am right now, a user with rough past trying to make a name for themselves, and redeeming their destiny for success in this league. I have also decided not to name drop the teams this time around, as that only spreads hate and idiocy throughout the league.
There are a few requests that I have for my player for those who want to take a gamble on me.
1. Locker room evaluation: I am very different from most free agents; the reason being that I wish to check out your locker room and your users to see how I fit into your team’s culture.
2. Desire for Success: I have never been past the first round in the SHL, I got out in round 1, in an overtime Game 7, then 6, and then 6 again. I want to have at least one cup with this player and I want to have a significant, and hopefully positive impact on the teams roster long term.
3. A Voice of Reason: I am trying to make this league a better place for everyone, and that if someone is worth giving an invitation to your team. I am going to mention two users here that are a good example of this: Jiggly (Jiggs as I refer him to) and Emiko. Both of these users had the potential of leaving an impact to the league, and to an extent they did. In my view, both of them had their opportunities denied by most in the league, and they are great people. I would draft these two any day of the week, because I see their uniqueness as their greatness. Nobody should have their chances blocked out because of their past or how they currently are. I want to make this league more open to the common user. (Rest in Peace Emiko, I’ll miss you forever).
I have gotten my point across, I’m ready to make a difference in this league. For GM’s of those interested in me, you’re free to talk to me the minute you see this post, as I don’t feel like whining to head office about tampering anyway.
