Walking into the Nevada Battleborn locker room felt so surreal, I hadn't considered what it would've been like to go to a whole new team. Sure there were rumors about where I was going to end up, but to actually go to Nevada? It feels so unreal. I think walking in and being greeted by a couple of the late night owls was so cool, and I'm really looking forward getting to know more of my teammates. They've been really welcoming so far and I can't wait to explore more of the locker room. Seems like there's a lot of opportunities available through it. Integrating with the group and getting involved more with our PT tasks is going to be key, I absolutely want to make sure I'm carrying my weight as well with the team. They've been welcoming so far and I want to make sure we keep up the good vibes and the good wins!

Walking into the Nevada locker room felt like coming home from a long time away. Everyone was super friendly, my fellow draftees and I already had nameplates on stalls with our gear set up perfectly. For some reason they had a giant portrait of someone who I dont know who looks exactly like Vancouver Canucks Legend Alex Burrows, but ill ask someone about that later. I think the coolest thing was the display for the four star cup they had in the center of the room, with a big 12 and 0 wood carving commemorating their previous seasons historic championship victory. The team seems proud of what theyve managed to accomplish, and I know myself and my fellow new draftees will be looking forward to contributing to that historic success as best we can in the coming seasons. With team mates like we have it will be hard not to try to give our all for the team.

Sebastien Regazzoni walked into the Anchorage Armada locker room with a massive smile on his face. This had been his dream. To wear the boat on his chest. To make the Alaska city his home. To meet teammates such as Philippe Eko-Eel, Edward Elric, Richard Dickbutt McFudderdudder III, and D Jobin. He was ectastic, and he hoped it showed. So it was a massive surprise to him when he walked in and was immediately told that he was a dead ringer for Jeremy Clarkson. Hell, Elric even asked him, in his Swiss accent, to impersonate Clarkson. And with his best attempt at saying "This is the best car.... in the world.", Regazzoni was welcomed into the Armada family. A massive rager was thrown where the rookies were encouraged to drink with their teammates, and Regazzoni proved himself to be a heavyweight, enjoying a lot of alcohol and endearing himself to his teammates with his drunken charm. He looks forward to winning a Four Star with the Armada.

Growing up playing Hockey in Britain, Jarrod Lakemore didn't know much about the SMJHL teams. Scouts, it seemed, also didn't know much about him. Though he talked to many teams, the priority seemed to be more on defensemen for a lot of teams. Others had passed him up for more highly touted forwards early in the draft. Jarrod remained unconcerned however, knowing eventually he'd get his chance. So when St. Louis finally called his name in the third round, he was ready to make the most of his opportunity. He had talked to the St. Louis front office before the draft and knew they they were in a win-now mode, with superstars in the making Baltisberger, Waters, and Koivu all entering their final year of Junior eligibility. Entering the locker room, he was greeted by a friendly, but determined group. Looking around the room, he noticed the rather slight frame of Diablo Rose. Rose, perhaps because of his rather light frame, had fallen to St. Louis late in the second round last year. But Rose had quieted any critics by stepping in and immediately providing some key scoring depth for the team as they made their playoff push. If Lakemore was going to have that kind of impact in his first year, he knew it was going to take a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. It was time to get to work.

I had the opportunity to walk into the locker room of the Falcons on three very distinct occasions.
The first time I was very young, my father Sebastien was visiting the team feeling nostalgic and wanted to see how the team he played in the J was doing and he brought me along. The second time was very recently as I signed as an undrafted free agent before the end of Season 66. I had no idea if I was going to be officially drafted by the team but I knew they had an interest in me, they remembered the history of my Father bringing them to two Four Star Cup finals during his time there and so after I heard my name being called in the second round I couldn't wait to go back but this time knowing I was going to step on the floor of the place to stay. I was well received that is for damn sure, first by management who officially welcomed me into the family and looked very happy to have me on board, and then the players who now are my new family, who welcomed me with open arms. We shared laughs, we fooled around, we drank together and we already began talking about next season and how we all want to take the league by storm and go back to the Four Star Cup. We want to hoist it over our shoulders as it happened in Season 65. Detroit is a Champion's Town, and I want to do it honor, I want to make it proud just like I want to make my own man proud. More than that, I want to achieve what he couldn't do. He did great in front of the net for the Falcons but he didn't bring the Cup to Detroit. I want to do it, and I want him to be there when it happens.

Time to get to work.

Not going to lie it was tough seeing a ton of talented RD picked before you, but having almost no offensive talent I get it. Walking into the Newfoundland locker room was an amazing feeling, and seems like it will be a great fit for me. A solid group of guys to be battling with, and helping me become the player I know I can be. I already feel very welcomed and know they will help me out with anything, and hopefully give me a little prodding where needed. After that I went out for some celebratory drinks, because I was drafted! NL was the team that talked to me the most pre-draft, and I am excited to be here. I am hoping we can put in a great season and work our way towards winning it all, and if not at least doing some serious damage trying. Time to get in my PT, and achieve greatness!

Taken from a translated article, some grammar may be incorrect.

“It’s a new experience, surely. I’ve been to the States a few times for camps, but never in arenas like that, and never with guys like that.”

Hai Nam Hoang reported for the first day of rookie orientation Friday, an important part of the beginning of his SMJHL career, a historic achievement, as he became the first Vietnamese-born player ever to be drafted by a semi-professional league. Hoang recalled the draft on Tuesday, when he learned he was a 3rd round pick of the Great Falls Grizzlies.

“I wasn’t watching the draft. I was practicing. Working on my skating when my Dad called to tell me the news. I wasn’t sure whether to continue practicing or to head to the hotel, but Borys recommended I go.”

Hoang and his new teammates enjoyed the luxury of a free skate before interviews and pictures were taken. It’s his first media day experience, something he’ll have to get used to, he says.

“It seems like most of the guys who were with me knew what to do and what to say. I somewhat felt left out or just out of the loop. It’s not their fault, they don’t speak my language and I struggle with theirs.”

The rest of the article will be released shortly.

Shortly after being picked, I was ushered off by the GM of the Vancouver Whalers, to meet my new teammates in the locker room. I was immediately greeted by the GM, Co GM and some of my new veteran teammates. Everyone was very welcoming and made the experience a great one on the night of my draft. After the initial greeting, we all sat back and watched as each of our new teammates were selected round after round. The cheers and excitement to welcome in the new members of the team were amazing and I feel fortunate to be a part of this organization.

Being a local BC boy, it was a special feeling to be drafted by your local team and then walk through into the locker room where so many talented players got their start. Knowing that I now have the backing of a team with a very strong history of producing talented players and chasing championships, the pressure is now on me to step up and develop into the player they believe I can become.

As Pete Aleman stepped into the Kelowna locker room for the first time, he knew he had a huge reputation to uphold. Being drafted 3rd overall puts a lot of pressure on a player, doubly so when the first thing he heard was "We're getting hockey players? We'd be better off just getting GWENT players instead." Pete knew it was going to be an uphill battle trying to win over the locker room, but with a good crew of rookies coming in, he definitely knew that was something they could do. As he always had in life, he thought the best way to win over the team was with some fun banter and skills on the ice. Looking around he saw a bunch of players ribbing each other, just generally having a good time. The excitement of the evening washed over him as he stepped forward into the room to meet the new team.

Yukon has been an awesome place to be drafted to thus far! I know I'm only a few short hours in but I've really appreciated my short time with my new teammates and fellow draftees. right off the bat, we were welcomed by a group of returning players who were really excited to have some fresh blood around. Afterward, the rookies spent some time getting to know each other. We talked about all things sports, and lots of talk about the video game football manager which seems to be a hit among the team. One thing was obvious throughout: These guys are hungry for a win and it's really exciting to get to be a part of working towards that. The manager took some time to welcome me into the fold and although he was busy with managerial tasks and the draft, he made a valiant effort to be available to us while we were all getting to know each other.

Every moment since draft day had been surreal, from media day, to network's calling for interviews, but the most jaw-dropping moment was yet to come. After a hectic few days over at the draft, Derek Martin made his way to Carolina, a first time visit to a new home. It felt good, it felt right. He made his way through the halls of the Spectrum Center where he was greeted along with his fellow rookies like royalty, with open arms, warm smiles and authentic joy from all the staff. It was only went he pushed the doors to the locker room that the overwhelming feeling of all this being real hit him in the face. He took time to try on the jersey, answer some media questions, sign some team swag and had a seat to soak it all in.

The next day, he made it over to the practice facilities and got to meet a few of the team players who opted into the optional skate in the morning. Slothfacekilla, Rich, Fuzz, RM, lil uzi were all there, pulling his legs a bit but more than happy to welcome some fresh talent to the squad and make this year one to remember.

Toasty didn't know what to expect heading into Great Falls. After spending all of his life with the O'Bigbers clan in Ireland and Czechia, making the move to the United States was going to be a big move. Leading into the draft everyone assumed that Toasty would be drafted to the Maine Timber as his player agency was heavily tied to Maine in the past. Getting to Montana though it was clear that the management team in Great Falls was excited. They flew in all of their rookies and were there for when the plane landed. Getting the the team facilities for the first time was incredible and a lot of the veterans on the team like Alvin Towne were there to great the new players and get them settled. The first day ended with each of the rookies getting to see their new jerseys for the first time and meet with the media to chat about how excited they were for the new season. Their careers were just getting started!

Lund was very nervous before entering St-Louis locker room, the emotions of the draft just started to wear down, and now he was starting his career in one of the best league in the world. His doubt were quickly wash away with the warm welcome he received from his new teamates. Lund has started to chat with a lot of them, everyone was super funny and kind, and by this time he knew he would have a fantastic season with them.

After that, he was summon to the GM office to be presented. In th 2nd round, Sparky traded to go earlier in the draft to recrute Lund, and it felt like Filip was really wanted in the team.

To close this crazy night, he was presented to the media of St-Louis. He never had so much attention in his live, but Lund tried its best to answer all question. Now Filip cant wait to start the new season with his new team.

Tony Hawkey heelflipped into the locker room in Quebec City and landed without missing a beat. He wasn't sure what he expected it to look like, but it was better. Such a historic city where hockey is beloved! Too bad, the only french he knows is when it is followed by "fries" or "toast". The team was immediately  impressed by his arsenal of flatground tricks despite being a vert skater. Introductions were made, they laughed together, they cried together. Once the formalities were over, they got down to brass tax. Tony was bombarded with requests to share pictures of his pets. Tony, being the crowd pleaser that he is, obliged. Many players, new and old, shared their pet pics and if he had any anxiety left about being on a new team, it was no longer there. Quebec City was now his home, and he was going to make the most of it.
