as the whalers are based in vancouver, there is a huge population that celebrates diwali, so its a no brainer. diwali is celebrated by hindus and sikhs alike, and as there are many in downtown Vancouver, it would be a very good idea. the design would feature a candle or some for of light, as diwali is the celebration and festival of lights. the jersey would primarily be orange, yellow and maybe with some white trim of some kind as they represent light, which is what the festival is about. it would also feature rangoli, which is an art form that typically uses varying powders that are coloured to create patterns. these patterns tend to have repeating flower petals in them, with all sorts of curls and colours. these designs are usually used to welcome wealth and good luck into a home, and with them on our jerseys, it will give us good luck to close out the season
We would be absolutely spoiled for choice for our Calgary Dragons Limited Edition jersey. The team has such a rich history as well as a concept that allows for many different narratives and playful ideas that it would be hard to choose. Obviously you could do a lot with the Dragon as a mythical creature, be it based around an old folk tale, classic fanatsy or even a very topical design and cooperation with someone like the people behind, I don't know, a very popular show literally called "House of the Dragon"? If you don't choose to go this route there are still plenty of other historic design to choose from, vintage versions of the jerseys worn by the old cup-winning teams of the first two decades of the SHL, or of legendary players like Esa Anrikkanen and some of the other super loyal career-Dragons that the team has managed to find so many of over the years.
When the announcement was made that an x-rated New Orleans jersey had been green lit by the SHL fans were nervous. The festival city known for debauchery and Mardis gras getting an explicit jersey must mean only one thing - tits.
The unveiling of the jersey was a total smokeshow, they had stage dancers, buff dudes performing insane gymnastics and a lot of generally raunchy shit happening at the unveiling party.
The president came out to speak, the lights dimmed, the dancers and gymnasts all left the stage. The president of the team spoke.
"I would like to introduce you to someone special. Someone you should all be familiar with. They will unveil the jersey."
People in attendance are expecting a well known model to come down and unveil the jersey...
Smoke shoots out of the entrance ramp, and a ghostly figure appears, its the Specter, with a couple of balls hanging between his legs.
He pulls back the curtain and unveils the new jersey - it's a testicular cancer awareness jersey, the Specter has his ballsack out. That's the x-rated jersey

Written Task: Tell me about any hockey related collectibles or items that you have! This can include your SHL card collection! Do you have any specific cards you like? Maybe an autograph or a jersey that's special to you?
When did you get into collecting these things or when did you get the thing you care about? Why is it special to you? (150+ words)
I do not own a whole lot of hockey related collectibles. However I own two items which I do really like. The first was a gift from my father and it is a signed Martin Hanzal Arizona Coyotes hockey puck. My second item is a Martin Hanzal Arizona Coyotes third jersey. The one jersey they called the running coyote, which according to google is the 2010-2011 alt jersey from back when they were still the Phoenix Coyotes.
And yes, because I can tell you are wondering, Martin Hanzal was my favourite player at the time, not because he was the best player. Truthfully I might have seen him play one or two games lol, althought this was around the time when the Coyote fanbase had the 'Hanzal is so hot right now' meme going on. So he was actually playing pretty well at that time. The main reason though was because I thought he kinda looked like Ashton Kutcher. Which I enjoyed very much.
Rikkert Biemans used to collect many different kind of SHL memorabilia, but as of late not so much anymore. I need to move houses first before I can pick up collecting again. I just don’t have the space required here anymore. The cabinets are piling out right now with jerseys, pucks, sticks, cards and even a few goalie helmets.
Obviously the goalie helmets are some of the best pieces in my collection obviously. The most precious one is a helmet worn by Kata Vilde in the Calgary Dragons season 50 cup final. Also have an awesome Barry Batsbak signed jersey from the game he scored his very first hattrick.
I also have many pucks from Barry Batsbak when he hit milestones. 200th goal, 800th point and 500th assist. It’s so awesome to have these items in my collection.
On item I still have on my wishlist is a signed jersey from Esa Parmborg.
So the new special jersey is going to be amazing! As a Specter we are the 'Ghosts' of the SHL, which means our new alternates are going to be all black, and you can't see any of the rest of the information until the halogen lights go out, and those black lights kick on! The front of each jersey is going to have a different 'Scary Ghost' on them also, think of something like Th13teen Ghosts stuff going on! When those lights flick out every few minutes the opposite team will be filling up their britches, (sidenote on this so far the SHL has been hesitant to approve this during live game play, which is lame.) But any time that play stops those lights are going to flick, and just wait to you see what happens when a Specter scores a goal! The whole stadium is going to go crazy with all sorts of things coming out in the dark, please remember fans if you're scared of a little fright, wear those depends to the game. And don't forget, just watch that Center ice!!!
Alright so Baltimore has some really cool elements to draw on for a special edition jersey. The colours on the city flag (and the state flag of Maryland for that matter) provide a useful base, and the focal point of the battle monument provides a nice historic centrepiece. So you could focus on that -- I mean the team name is the Platoon, ffs; half the work is already done -- and have like, a stylised, artistic depiction of the Battle of Baltimore in the lower part of the jersey on the back, fading into a red and white "sky" (with clouds)... and the battle monument on the front, with the team logo. Then have the yellow/black pattern from the flag across the shoulders and sleeves or something.
Could combine this with a whole promotional thing where each jersey has names commemorating fallen soldiers along the hem. And because you couldn't really put all of them on every jersey, you could have that bit attached later, like a section of one long hem produced specifically for these jerseys. That way each jersey would be unique. Special name/number printing as well, where you can't get regular name/numbers on the jersey, but instead, all jerseys come with no nameplate, only a number can be added.
Have a whole campaign about the history associated with it, and have players do short soundbites on "why I'm proud to represent Baltimore". Really drive home the pride aspect, and push it as a local jersey for local people, celebrating their heritage and history.
If Montreal is going to do a limited edition jersey, then it without a doubt has to be a throwback to the previous Montreal franchise: the Montreal Militia. Now, this wasn't a previous SHL team, rather a SMJHL team who would later become the current Carolina Kraken. But there's no doubt that the Militia showed how deeply loved hockey is in Montreal. The jersey would bring back the silver and blue Militia colors, while keeping the current logo (but also having altered colors). Being a new franchise, Montreal has only undergone 1 jersey or logo change, and that was only a couple of seasons ago. There isn't much to throw back to, so honoring the most recent Montreal club seems like the best bet. Fans loved that club, so I have no doubt the Militia throwbacks will be instant throwbacks. And who knows, if they're popular enough, maybe we'll see another jersey change.
I think playing for the Armada makes it super easy for me to describe what we can do for the special edition jerseys. I think the coolest thing we would be able to do is camo style jerseys. Whenever I think of the Armada I think of the Navy and that makes me think war. And, what uniform do they wear in the war or for these fighting battalions? They always have camo, well most of the time, depending which country you come from.
I think what would make it even cooler would be to do it in the month of may, since that is Military Appreciation month. We can even have different types of nights at the arena, where we can bring some people on the ice who have served for their country, or some home coming style events where we can re unite families. Those TikTok videos always make me cry when the families get re united with their loved ones who have been over seas and protecting their country.
Wine bottles on the front, and on the back just a giant wine glass envolving the numbers. Jay Cue comes from one of the best wine producing countries in the world, so the Atlanta Inferno would be very smart to get that connection going, to get portuguese fans into hockey and to get american Inferno fans into portuguese wine.
Other than that, for every ticket purchase into the finals games, fans would get a free wine glass, good for 2 things: if Atlanta wins, they have the right to go into any bar in Atlanta and drink for free for a whole month. If the Inferno lose against someone, you can very much use the glass to throw it into the arena - any opponent player hit gives you 50 bucks in team merchandise and if you hit any of the refs, you get 500 bucks.
Imagine the scenes. Lots of new fans getting into wine and also fights. God bless the United States of America.
For us in Chicago we have quite a deep root too the Japanese culture as alot of players are from that part of the world I would try too design somthing along the lines that represents Japan blended with the Syndicate this is one of first things I noticed after being traded too Chicago was its Japanese roots in its players so that would definitely be somthing pretty cool for us I'm not sure that much people would quite understand the meaning unless the story behind it was hold aswell none the less there is a few other ideas but all I really see Chicago as is some Real life murder hub so idk Kayden here for a cup and avoids those parts of Chicago as it isnt the place he wants too be scary gun fire every 20 mins you can feel the spookiness and haloween is almost apon us could do somthing along those lines aswell
