Skills from OTHER players? *scoffs* You are talking to 2 time, back-to-back WJC Gold Medalists AND SHL Rookie of the Year WINNER CONNER "DOES IT ALL HIMSELF" SNOOKS BABY. Let me break it down for you. I AM Philly as much as Palpatine is the Senate alright? I'm like 30% of the Philly offense. They would be dead last in the league if it weren't for my skills. No don't go into the locker room. I did not just post a sign up on my locker asking for advice on where to spend my TPE okay?? You never saw it. But IF I were to give advice to all the noobs out there in the league. It would be Shooting Accuracy. That's it. If you don't shoot well puck don't go into the net. It's basic maths. Oh and getting open too probably. So you have space to shoot the puck well.

There are a lot of players I would love to steal attributes from around the SHL. With Edward Elric being a younger player, he does not quite have a high TPE build that the older players might have and this skill stealing beam can help him really close the gap on those players and finally live up to the first overall selection the New England Wolfpack GM, luke, spent on acquiring his player.

Right off the bat, Edward Elric would love to steal Rinky McDingle's screening. This would help him become more of a force in front of the net and really draw pressure away from the rest of his team as he causes disruptions for the goalie and his opponent's defense.

Afterwards, he would love to steal Luukas Lilja's Getting Open rating. This would help him get open more often and allows him to showcase his skillset in 1 on 1 situations with the goalie if hes open.

Creative prompt

The one advantage to being an SHL player is you actually do get the chance to rub shoulders with players who are a lot more talented than you are fairly easily. Whether it’s in a locker room, a sponsor event or even just socialising with your friends on the team who know other people on different teams, access to other players isn’t the most difficult thing in the world to obtain if you’re already in that circle. Getting access to the very top players is different however, as a lot of them move with security and don’t tend to socialise too much due to the nature of their fame. My plan would be to set up a fake corporate event where they would be hired under the pretence of being a guest speaker, but in fact what would happen would they would be subject to having their talent beamed out of them. It is not maybe the best or most inventive plan in the world, but it should get the job done and allow me to steal the talent of multiple players.

player prompt:

I would not want to suck the skill of any of my teammates because that would make them worse and make our team worse and make us win less games and not win the cup so I would only target opponents. I'd start by targeting Ricky @Gwdjohnson Koivu and take his skating because he is an up and coming player and I am regressing and slow. Then I would target Edward Elric and take the dawg he's got in him that made him go first overall and double the dawg inside of me Pablo Salvatici. After them specifically I will just take the stats from each of the stats leaders in the index so I can become the best player in the league and forever fight off regression by continuing to suck these stats out of them. Doing so will let me become the alltime leader in many stats for Atlanta and hopefully make unbreakable records.

Can I just steal someone's TPE instead lol? I guess in-context that would be someone's work ethic and longevity? So I'd want like... Adelie de Pengu's work ethic and longevity for a start. Probably wouldn't focus on the same attributes though. Like of course, de Pengu's puckhandling, strength, checking, and hitting would be useful. So would his quickness and balance for that matter... but the penguin isn't necessarily "best in class" in these areas.

Let's dive deeper.

Jamal's a cerebral guy so he'd want better reads for a start. Right now, only one player in the league has better defensive read of the game than Jamal, Marco Barengrub. Barengrub's positioning is also outstanding, so let's take that as well, and his puckhandling for that matter. Offensive reads are useful too, even as a defenseman, so Jamal would want the offensive read ability of former teammate Angus McFife XVIII.

Being Jamaican, Jamal also prides himself on his athleticism and particularly his quickness. On ice, he's not quite as quick as on land, so that's something to address. Imagine having the top speed of Grogu Mandosson, the acceleration of Dogwood Maple, and the balance and grace of Zayne Dangle. Shot blocking is great and all -- we can take that from de Pengu -- but without bravery to back it up, are you really gonna be putting yourself in the way of those ridiculously high speed shots? So for this we need to turn to Rob Wright. Then for the key defensive attributes, checking and stickchecking from Marco Barengrub (again! dude what is in this guy's weetabix?!), and hitting from Jay O'Neil. Finally, because the ability to transition from defense to attack is invaluable, let's take the passing ability of Ty Murphy.

Pete Aleman has always had a very strong philosophy about hockey, ever since he was a kid: defense breeds offense.  Puck possession is king.  So, to try to work in this direction, Pete would steal the defensive and skating abilities of the league's best.  Perhaps the balance of Zayne Dangle, the acceleration of Dogwood Maple.  The strength and hitting ability of Jay O'Neil.   Grogu Mandosson's speed.  The biggest thing that Aleman thinks, however, is that a strong defensive game starts from the mindset: being able to understand where the puck is going and when.  To truly reach the peak at this, he'd point the laser beam towards Marco Barengrub.  He has an incredible eye for positioning and being in the right place at the right time, knowing when to hit, when to check, when to jump up and join the rush.  The hockey IQ is the most important part of Pete's game and the best way he sees to improve is to steal that.

The question you are raising is far too limiting. Why on earth would Julian use a highly experimental "skill stealing energy beam", and test it out to steal one players best skill and transfer it to himself? Julian knows way better than to use such a highly experimental "skill stealing energy beam" to steal a players best skill, in order to improve himself in this skill. So unlike the doctor has requested, Julian is not going to use the highly experimental "skill stealing energy beam" to steal a skill from a player. Instead Julian will use the highly experimental "skill stealing energy beam" to steal the best skills of all other players in the league and transfer them all to himself, making himself the single best player in a league of nobodies. Perhaps he'll transfer some of the redundant skills to teammates, so the entire team becomes a literal power house.

On the other hand, Detroit doesn't need this. We'll wreck the league and pick up another cup this season anyway.

Player Prompt

I'm no sciencer and I don't pretend to be. If this thing is legitimate and I can steal someone's powers and add them to mine would I be able to point it at myself over and over again and multiply my many talents until I make the SHL look like it is filled with Timbits? I would do covert experiments on this and steal random abilities from random people and give them others. Imagine if you will, standing in line to get your morning coffee and you forget how to speak 5 of the 6 languages you speak and your barista starts speaking German at you. I would turn around and go home never to be seen again. If that experiment bears fruits, I would slowly transfer all the skills of SHL stars into random people who would never think to pick up skates so that they would be none the wiser. A perfect crime. Rhys is beginning to feel the heavy hand of time. He just can't play as sharp offensively as he used to. Sure, he's still pretty decent at setting up teammates scoring chances and picking up assists, but he misses that feeling of putting the team on your back with some clutch goals. When the doctors came to him with this ability, Rhys saw an opportunity to extend his career and return to glory. So he hatched a plan. The prettiest scoring touch in the league is Rhys' former teammate Max Manning. So the next time Calgary traveled to Seattle, Rhys would invite Max to dinner and find a way to use the new power to steal Max's silky mitts. When the big night came, Max invited his brother and the three guys had dinner together. At some point in the meal, Rhys excused himself to the restroom, and ducked behind a plant in the restaurant. He pointed the ray gun at Manning and fired! He missed, and hit Max's brother instead. Too bad Rhys's accuracy wasn't higher. Now he's really good at Call of Duty and dabbing.

If I had this magical tractor beam of SHL talent, I would point it at one of my teammates – Christian Kinsinger. Kinsinger has had a tremendous leap forward this season in his on-ice efficiency. He’s in the league’s top echelon for powerplay goals from a defenseman, and he still maintains a punishing but responsible play on the back end with 40 hits. He is firing the puck at a very high rate, and is 2nd in the league for defenseman with shots at 102. He’s a very well rounded player and I’d love to zap away some of that talent and bring it into the fold for Lord Farquaads. Some notable skills would be sped, agility, checking, defensive read, and strength. Lord Farquaads is a little guy, but he’s still pretty bulky. He could use a bit more height – would that come along with Kinsinger’s strength? Either way, give me some of that Christian Kinsinger magic for Lord Farquaads.

Player Prompt - Skill Steal

If Mikko Rashford is to become the ultimate SHLer, he is clearly going to need to steal a lot of skills around the league.  Nicknamed Trashford around the Aurora locker room, the part-effort forward clearly needs some help.  The following are the players he'd steal from and what he'd hope to get from them.

Mats Marner @leafsftw1967 - Longevity and Scoring Touch - Marner has long been a mainstay at the top or near the top of the scoring charts in the SHL, with a knack for finding goals and finding them often, Rashford could use a little bit of this
Angus McFife XVIII @micool132 - Cup Winning Motivation - There is no player in the league that wants to win it more than McFife.  The player can hardly speak a word without uttering their desire to win the cup.  Some people seek being cool, but I wanna be micool.
Bender Junior @Wally - Youthful Spirit - There is no player user that encapsulates a youthful spirit than Junior.  One of 37 recreates for Wally over the past few seasons, if Rashford is going to make it far, he'll need to feel young
Geezus Kryyst @Narconis - Salvation - One does not simply become the best without being redeemed.  And at 42 TPE (some would argue the idea meaning of life experience), and a knack for the occasional save, Kryyst could be the final piece to the puzzle for the Rash to finally be healed.

Loving the Monstars vibes of these sports doctors, might have been even cooler if they found a way to suck the hockey skills out of players into a stick or something.. but maybe the skills will be safer and more long lasting because they went with an energy beam instead. Anyways, I would just take all the skills. Taking a page out of the Monstars playbook from the original Space Jam, I'd go after someone like Connor McDavid or, if the team needed more on defense, a guy like Cale Makar, and just hoarde all of their talent and bring it to the ice for the Los Angeles Panthers. Sarah Burke is getting on in age so she'll take all the help she can get and then some to help her team out. She does have a bit of a conscience though, so I guess at some point she'd have to return the skills to whoever she stole them from at some point. Since the skills presumably aren't in a stick or something I guess she'd have to find a way to beam them back.

side note edit: lol i just noticed the title of the PT. "this feels like a space jam PT... -writes PT-.. oh it IS a space jam PT"

thank you amid, swoosh and eni for sigs! <3

This is a very hard question, because I would never want to steal the skills from someone who I like even if they are on another team, so I must be very careful to choose people who I can confidently take their skill from without ever caring about how it might impact them or those around them. I also don't want to take
away skills from teammates of people I care about and hurt my friends by proxy. That does make me end up with a very short list of what and how I can deal with this newly acquired power. Even on the teams I do not care about and where most people are not really in my life, there is still going to be one person who I like enough to not want to make their life harder. Plus, I don't think it would be really fair to use this new technology to win an advantage in the game, so I will just throw this thing in the garbage.
