Just for fun Davies is going to limit his power sapping to just five players and is primarily going to take their physical attributes. He can grow his technical side later, for now he’ll focus on just being the best athlete on the ice. To do that, he will start by stealing Dogwood Maple’s acceleration, giving him the quickness of Toronto’s star center. He’ll follow up by taking New England teammate Borje Samuelsson’s agility which, when combined with his newfound acceleration will make it very difficult to deke past him. And if they do, the speed he steals from Grogu Mandosson will make it so he can quickly catch back up to those who get by him. Stud defenseman Eero Makela’s stamina will make it so he remains a force of nature all game long, logging numerous minutes over the course of the season. Lastly he’s taking Jonathon Hagan’s strength, allowing him to body anyone he comes into contact with. All told, this would make Davies the best athlete on the ice, and allow him to use his physicality to dominate opponents.

Red Kirkby could spend time travelling around the SHL observing the best players and figuring out the combination of skills he wants to steal but that is a lot of travelling and a lot of work when he could just stay in Philadelphia and take the skills of the players he knows best in the league. From First Name Last Name he would steal the gift of ever lasting youth, from Conner Snooks he would steal the Midas touch that he has seeing as it seems impossible for him to do anything wrong no matter how hard he tries sometimes. From Evil Allbran he would steal the gift of graphical design so that he could throw up some sick designs on his locker and from Scoochie Stratton he would steal the matrix like reflexes for dodging incoming pucks seeing as blocking shots is a job for the defense not a forward whose only job should be to score goals and get all the glory.

First off I'd probably take Aaron Wilson's longevity. You could probably take a number of different skills from him but he has played at a top level for such a long time in this league. It's pretty impressive the numbers he has put up at his age. Next I would take Grogu Mandosson's passing ability. I've always thought centers should aim to be the best playmakers they can due to their positioning on the ice and the amount of puck touches they get. Centers being able to pass the puck well and make plays are super valuable. I think Grogu put up 71 assists last season which is crazy. Oddly enough though this season he has more goals than assists. Finally I would take Makrus the Tater Jager's faceoff abilities. You win 60% of your draws over the course of the year that's gonna do both you and your team a lot of favours. Over the course of 1 game it doesn't seem like a whole lot. But you add up those faceoff wins over the course of a season that's a lot of extra possession and probably a number of extra wins in key faceoff situations.

There are a lot of elite skilled players around the league, and there were even more a few seasons back that Jonas admired as he was coming up in the league. He has always been a defenceman, but always a defenceman with an eye for the offensive side of the game. He doesn't find himself right in front of the net too much, but he always admired Minamino's skill in front of the net, and how he was able to set a goal scoring record just banging in rebounds and tipping pucks in from in close. He also wouldn't mind to have Luukas Lilja's precision when it came to shooting the puck, what a sniper that guy is. When it comes to the defensive side, Eero Makela's ability to get in front of shots is almost unmatched, and Jonas is pretty proud of his own puck stealing abilities. Other than that, Aaron Wilsons longevity is something that Jonas is very impressed with.
Quote:Written Task: What skills would you take from which players around the league if you wanted to make your player the best they could be? What kind of attributes would you be looking for? Scoring touch? Longevity? Glove hand? Speed? What skills would be most important to your player, and who do you steal them from? (150+ words)
Aleksi Kettu has a few key people in mind for different skills he would want to take. Coincidentally, all players are former Panthers. These players are some of the ones who helped Kettu in prior training camps to prepare for the season, players who mentored Kettu in his preparation for his future jump to the SHL. To start, he'd take Jimmy Wagner's skating. In his prime, Jimmy Wagner was one of, if not the best skater in the league, rumored to even have been voted fastest skater at one point in time. Kettu would also take Luukas Lilja's scoring touch. Lilja held the league record for single season scoring for a short period of time, and while his career is ending shorter than some expected, Lilja's ability to find the scoresheet is near unparalleled. Kettu would take two things from Jonas Kahnwald: his ability to defend in his own zone, and his elite passing vision in the offensive zone. Kahnwald was the staple of the LA blueline for a very long time and solidified himself as one of the best defensemen to touch the ice in recent memory. Last but not least, Kettu would take the net front presence of former Panther Long John Donair. Donair was ahead of his time when it came to being a net front nuisance. While most of the league was focusing on cool dekes, Donair was focusing on just making things difficult on opposing goalies.
