S69 SMJHL Postseason Bonanza
#16

Fan Appreciation Day
The colorado raptors S69 commemorative item is a raptor tooth, specially selected from a mass raptor grave site that is confirmed happened because of the fireball that ended the dinosaurs. With a 24 caret diamond in the middle, every season ticket holder is entitled to this commemorative item. Please dont ask us how we have the funds to buy this tooth and a 24 caret diamond in the middle, it might not have been totally legal but we got it for you. You can choose the color of your diamond, hell, we will even throw in a picture of jamie diamond too. The item can be picked up at the end of the season from your local colorado cave (the official team store of the raptors). Just present your season tickets and we will give you you (probably priceless) raptor tooth of your color choice and jamie diamond photo. Dont say we dont love you, because holy shit these things are expensive.

Secret Plans
The colorado raptors are going to go down the "trickster" route this coming up season. We plan to tape snap pops to our sticks so every time we hit something it sounds like a gunshot to scare the other team. Additionally we are going to beat up any team, off ice, who tries to win against us next season. Seriously. Our hopes are that this will be an effective deterrent against any team that hopes to try to pull one over on us. We've been taking karate classes and Dom has even gotten brass knuckles. I talked him out of that though, we are trying to win games not go to jail. Though, assult is probably jail worthy so I dont know what our plan is going to be here. You know what, nevermind. We are just going to actually train hard and try to win the old fashion way. I dont want to get in trouble, none of what I said is true. Please dont tell on me.

Looking Towards the Future
Honestly, I was upset about the lack of fighting this season. With shorsey on our team you'd expect there to be a ton of fights and stick breaking. So in my opinion, we need a good enforcer. Someone who is going to defend our team and our players. Someone more like shorsey IRL. I think if we have a good enforcer no one is going to fuck with us.

Bobbleheads, t-shirts and all that stuff are fun but eventually they gather dust or don't fit you anymore. You know what stays forever? Culture and knowledge! Some of you may not know but the Citadelles is named after a real life landmark in Québec, the (yes you guessed it) Citadelle de Québec. The team partnered up with the Citadelle to offer everyone who will attend S70's season opener a free ticket to visit it. It's a military museum so it's not like it's super boring to visit and the ticket is valid for a full calendar year so you don't need to freeze your balls off when you go visit it. Wins everywhere I tell you.

But since the team also wants to make people want to attend games for the crap they give, they'll also do a Redd Savage bobblehead night later in the season. It's still progress for the few intellectuals who also happen to enjoy hockey.

2.
I think we patched most of our holes that made the Citadelles terrible in S68 but we have a couple of great players that will be called up and it will hurt for sure.

Our captain Jack St. Clair will be called up but I can see a few players pick up the slack and contribute even more on offense than they did this season, like Jiggle E. Puff, Nathan Cormier, Kieran Kovalev and Smurfunkel Dothe. We're also (probably?) keeping veterans like Viktor Hargreeves so I think we'll do good on offense.

A callup I think might hurt us more is Nevek Kove's because we don't really have anyone who can take his role as a purely defensive defenseman on our roster. This might be what our GMs would want to target in the upcoming draft. With an increased role, Alexander Minaj could be the guy for the job but since he's probably going to come up in one more season, I'd rather our GMs look to our future on defense now.

Elena Maximova is a right handed defenseman from Odessa in Ukraine. We of course recognize that name since she is following in the footsteps of her mother Maria and her brother Jasper, who recently announced his retirement at the end of this season. The Maximovs have always been known as offense driven defensemen but Elena seems to be above all of them in terms of talent early in her career. She led the SMJHL in goals, with 22, was third in points with 51 and even cracked the top 10 in hits with 138. All of this in her rookie season on a team not a lot of people saw doing as well as they did. She also seems to have a good work ethic; she's often one of the first on the ice for practice and one of the last to leave.

I see her as a player with little downsides. Despite being a rookie, she was one of the most used players on her team, averaging over 23 minutes on the ice per game. We could maybe mention that her defensive game is suffering a bit from being so offensively minded but she's still not a player who makes a lot of mistakes and will go back in her zone and support the defense as best as she can, particularly with big hits, as we mentioned earlier.

I think any team who struggles to score, like the North Stars, the Platoon or the Panthers, should seriously consider drafting her. She could also help teams like the Barracuda or the Monarchs with their powerplay.

Since Elena can't really go home right now, she decided to spend time in Québec with her family. She likes traveling so she's planing a trip that will take her all over the province, like to the vivid metropolis of Montréal, the fjords of Saguenay, the red beaches of Îles de la Madeleine or the fish filled lakes of Abitibi. She has a hard time speaking french but she hopes the limited classes she and her brother had will be enough to survive in smaller villages around the province. This trip is a bit built on the hope that the team's popularity will make people want to help them even more.

I'm one of the oldest users on the site in terms of years being here without a Challenge Cup so I think my goal is pretty clear. I've reached the finals a few times but can't ever seem to win shit. I prefer having a good time on the site rather than chase a cup and I don't think I'll be chasing anything with this player either but that's definitely my number one goal. Then, I, again, haven't won shit in terms of individual awards so I'd like to get just one in my life. I know it's a matter of internet points but when you think you have a real shot at something and not get it, it's really disappointing. Maybe winning stuff will also help me get one player in the hall of fame, too. Well, shit, I have way too many expectations for this player. I'm not greedy. Just a Challenge Cup will do, thanks.

2. Looking Towards the Future
The future for Nevada is quite an interesting situation, as this current year was a down year for the Battleborn, but with quite a few good pick ups for this year to head into the next few seasons, with a young starting goalie, a young future top 2 defenseman, and two left wingers, one being a slow project and the other being a potential 1st line winger/center. But with the season coming to the end, you also have call-ups, as we'll be seeing the SMJHL GOAT, Alexi Piastri being called up, so having to replace him and his scoring prowess will be tough. As well we might be seeing top defenseman, John Brown, also getting the call to the SHL, but that one might be another season out. But despite that, you have a solid three-head sophomore group that will be playing their 3rd SMJHL season next year, with DuBølk, White and Bender Junior. So having those three, along with the four rookie from this season, things could be looking up for the Battleborn. But with the lost of Piastri, the Battleborn need to have someone step up to put up the points that we'll be missing from him. But outsides that, the Battleborn could also use another defenseman for when Brown does get called up, so that they'll have a top 4 defense core set-up, and a top 6 forward core set-up too. Just the main question is, will they be able to have as good of a draft as they had this last two seasons. If so, then you can pencil them in as favourites for this upcoming season and maybe the one after.

[276 words, 5 TPE]

12. On the Radar

When you're a young player, the one thing scouts look for is your ability to improve and grow over the season. For a goalie that means you are letting up fewer goals the longer you play in the season, getting a better save percentage, and getting a few shutouts over the course of the season. When a goalie doesn't do that, you have a question of if they are putting in the time and effort to improve on their craft. And one goalie in this upcoming draft falls into the latter category, Nevada's Luka Nogoalov. Giving up three or less goals in 14 of his last 16 games in the regular season, and not getting a shutout since December, is not a good look for a player who looks to enter the draft in the offseason. Now a lot of it can come from the defense in front of him, but it doesn't appear to be the case, as one of the better defensive performances by the Nevada defense corps, was the game against Yukon, in Nogoalov's 2nd last game of the season. And in that game, Nogoalov would give up 2 goals, on 10 shots, not a good performance at all. What Nogoalov need to look for is to showcase his skills to the team's in off-season practice as well as to ace it at the combine in both the athletic measurements, and the interview component, if Nogoalov wants to go somewhere in the first round. And even then I would say it would be a strong stretch to draft him.

[262 words, 5 TPE]

16. Goals

I have a few goals for Nogoalov's career. The first one, and the one that is probably my number one goal, is to win a challenge cup with Nogoalov. My past two player's, O'Reilly and Daniels didn't win a challenge cup, with Daniels the career didn't last long, and for O'Reilly for most of his career he was playing on rebuilding clubs, so winning the challenge cup would be great to win. Another goal, not as big as the first one, is to finish top 3 in an individual player award. Another thing that has been missing in my SHL career, as far as I can remember, was being in the top 3 for an individual player award, and while I have finished top 3 for an individual user award, it would be awesome to also finish top 3 for an individual player award. And finally, a lengthy goal is to make the Hall of Fame, but that isn't exactly the biggest goal for me, but I would be happy if it were to happen.

1. Fan Appreciation Day
Your team is giving back to their supporters by holding a fan appreciation day for one of their games, where the team will hand out a special commemorative item to show thanks for their continued support of the franchise. You have been tasked to design the product to be given out to the attendees (can be a rally towel, foam finger, bobble head, etc.) Write a blurb about the item, including details on during which game was / will be given out.

I think after the tremendous success we had in the regular season the Kelowna Knights should be handing out every merch item that we can afford to do. Our fans were one of the main reasons we were able to maintain a high level of play and I think they should be rewarded for it. Bobble heads of some of our top Veteran players and a couple of our hot shot rookies. Next year we also want to try and include more hockey related food items at the concession so we will be offering Knight Wings and Kelowna Cluck (chicken things) at the arena.

2. Secret Plans
It’s never too early to start thinking about how you’re going to gain a competitive edge next season! How is your team going to go the extra mile to get wins next season? Is it a secret training regimen? Sneaky equipment modifications? Booby trapping the visiting teams’ locker room? Anything goes.

So far the plans have been working. The wire tapping was a great way to learn about our opponents strategies and has really given up the ability to even the playing field. Could we just play better? Maybe. But this is competitive sports and we really need to give ourselves every opportunity to win. The slightly off skate sharpener provided to the opposing team has also positively impacted our club and changing where on google maps our area is has also helped in providing stumbling blocks for the other team. Let’s face it the really competition begins as soon as the schedule is drawn up, not when the puck is dropped or the teams arrive at the rink. WHEN. THE. SCHEDULE. IS DONE. So bring on S70 and watch as our new competitive director (We hired someone to plan all this) works his magic and brings parity to the league.

12. On the Radar
Write a pre-draft scout report on your player from the perspective of a journalist covering the prospects of the S69 SHL draft class. What do possible SHL suitors have to be excited (or perhaps wary?) about when it comes to potentially drafting your player?

S70 SHL draft is coming up and it looks like we have a good crop of rookies coming up. I hope you are looking for high earning TPE goalies because that is what seems to be shining this draft. With Luka Nogoalov, Rhett Carpet, and Tibuk Soonika taking up the 3 of the top 4 rankings in the draft class in TPE earning I think those SHL teams that could be looking for a goalie solution in the short term may have plenty of options to choose from. Looking at the regular season Luka Nogoalov saw the most playtime with 53 games played for the Nevada Battleborn with Tibuk Soonika seeing 27 games played with Kelowna and Rhett slotting in between the pipes for 22 games this past season. I think there are 3 teams out there that will benefit greatly from having these players on their teams as well as in their locker rooms.
(155 words)

14. R&R
It's almost officially the offseason. Whether you just won the cup or didn't even make it past the first round of the playoffs, it's time to take a break and look toward the SHL draft. Tell us how you're spending your time this offseason, whether it be with family or friends.

Well unfortunately Kelowna got knocked out in the second round due to some bad puck luck. It happens unfortunately. Tibuk is going to be getting ready for the next season immediately at the conclusion of this season. It was a fairly productive run for the Swiss native who will be returning home to get time with his conditioning coach and work on some key elements of his game. S70 should be a big one for Tibuk he has the S70 draft just around the corner and hopes to prove to Kelowna that he deserves his time in the crease but also hoping to show his future big time club that he can one day deserve a seat at the table. There are a couple of key attribute Tibuk is working towards and has a plan on how he wants to play. It’s really about getting that time in and earning the TPE.  Tibuk will probably be making time to visit friends and family once he returns home but he really doesn’t want to get sloppy despite the abundance of delicious cheese and meats that will undoubtably be waiting for him. North American foods tend to be what you expect and nothing screams indulge like a steaming pot of melted fondue. Tibuk must resist the urge to become soft and flabby. One does not want to become a body double to the infamous gelatinous blob “Flubber”. No this will be an important summer for the young rookie and the sophomore year is just around the corner.

16. Goals
Although your career may still be in its early stages, it's still a great time to think about the future. What are some goals you have for your career, or some personal goals for the site? Are you striving for a HOF induction? Getting a site job?

The goals for this career will be to have more continued success with Tibuk Soonika. I am hoping to play a more pivotal role on my team and earn individual awards which was something that eluded me the first time around. While we all want to win championships it can be a bit of a coin flip if you actually get one. I am hoping for a bit more continued success to add to my awards cabinet. On the site I am hoping to be able to contribute but will have to try and find something that would be able to work within my IRL schedule.

For recreates, how was doing this new version of CW compared to the old one? Was the experience better, or worse? How were the PT changes? For first gens, you can also talk about your experiences with PTs in general too this season!

I think this new version of CW works pretty well. I think there are lots of prompts which gives people lots to play off of and write about. I think it targets those that are just involved with the SMJHL and gives them a nice frame of reference without needing to get super far into the weeds of the SHL at this point. It might be nice to include things like a quick podcast and encourage maybe some other forms of media beyond just graphics and written media (although I totally get that those are the primary contributions). Great Work points team!

You have been designated as the team's official Fun Director! Now, everyone is looking for some sort of fun activity where you all can spend an afternoon or day to chill, hang out and build some team spirit. Especially after a long and stressful season, what are your plans to ensure everyone has a great time?

Thank you for designating me as the Nevada Battleborn's official Fun Director. Let's go to the movies! No, boring. Let's go lazer tagging! No, boring. Sky diving? Guess again.

The team is being flown out to the deserts of Mexico with just the clothes on their back and one can of diet coke. Buried deep in the sand at an unknown location is one water gun, spray painted gold. Their also blind folded. Winner is the first person to dig up the golden water gun and take it to the nearest small town, where you will trade it for a key to your handcuffs. Oh yeah, you're also handcuffed. Once you are un-handcuffed, you will then take an Uber to an abandoned air strip. Except it's not abandoned. It's full of coyotes. You will wrestle the king coyote. Once you win, he will give you another key, this time to a plane. You will fly that plane to Tijuana. Once there you will need to dig a hole at the border and arrive back into the United States unseen. Once back in the United States you will need to talk to a man named Todd who will give you another key, this time to unlatch the bomb around your neck. Oh yeah, you have a bomb around your neck. You will trade that live bomb for one gatorade. You will drink the gatorade but hold on, it has a code. You will call the Gatorade hotline and wait on hold for customer service. They will give you a key word. You will need to call your GM with the key word. They will then let you know you are being traded to Quebec. If you win the game you actually lose the game.

Anyways, just a fun idea from the fun director! (302 words)

There are a lot of positives about Ace Lightning as a player and an overall person, and GMs should be licking their chops at the potential of drafting this right handed defenseman a lot later than he would normally go. Even though, at this recording, Lightning is top 5 in his draft class for TPE production and had a tremendous rookie year on a lottery team, it is likely that he will be drafted at the bottom end of the first round or early second round, because he doesn't carry the name recognition of a Sydney Shaw or an Isak Sogard. He has produced as a top 5-10 pick but it is unlikely that he becomes a lottery pick unless GMs do their homework.

Teams may be wary of Lightning's tendency to think his player is better than he actually is and that may cost him a spot in the first round. Either way, whoever drafts Lightning is getting a hell of a player and a hell of a steal. (170 words)

Although your career may still be in its early stages, it's still a great time to think about the future. What are some goals you have for your career, or some personal goals for the site? Are you striving for a HOF induction? Getting a site job?

Ace Lightning is reaching for the stars with this career. He strives to be not only the best player to come out of the Season 70 SHL Draft, but the best player to perhaps ever play the defensive position. It may not look like much after his first SMJHL season with Nevada, but he is getting better every day. Once he arrives in the SHL (likely in Season 72 or 73), it will be on the heels of an all-time SMJHL career where he shows himself as one of the best players to ever play the game down there. While in the SHL, look out for at least a 20 season career where fighting regression becomes his job, all while scoring and passing at an all-time rate. Watch out Hall of Fame, Ace Lightning is coming for you as a first ballot. Is there an All-time point mark for a defenseman? Consider that busted by the time Lightning is said and done. He's not just an offensive dynamo though, good luck trying to beat him one-on-one in anything. Hockey, basketball, chess, even Wordle.

Once Lightning is clearly the best player to ever play in this league, he will take a GM job and then prove he's the best GM to ever do it as well, being inducted as a first ballot Hall of Famer as a GM too. Everybody will chant his name (in a positive way). (207 words)

Well, the St. Louis Scarecrows definitely did not have the season most of the fans, players, as well as the staff expected, not being able to follow up to expectations of the previous seasons to the Semis. But I believe that the best way that the Crows could honour the fans is to int induce a type of giveaway to every fan in the building that night that holds a ticket. I don’t know exactly what it would be exactly, but maybe some sort of bobblehead of the first overall pick this coming year, a reminder to the team of the greatness that is soon to come???

3. Secret Plans - 173 Words - 3 TPE

Most teams will see the St. Louis Scarecrows as a weak team that you will likely beat walking into it, but sometimes we snag a win against some better teams. We nevr really played pranks on other teams, or anythung rude, but we definitely will gain an advantage once in a while. Most of these are harmless 'mistakes' that happen, but they really arent. For example, we lock the other players dressing room right to the last minute until we have to open it, making them wait in the lobby embarassed, or the pucks set on the benches are very unfair piles, like 20 on our side and 5 on theirs, or sometimes we 'accadentally' forget to give them any pucks. But for us getting wins by these tactics, it doesnt work. Yes, it may throw off their game quite a bit, but it will never secure us a win. Our wins come off of hard fought, nitty-griddy battles that we win with hard work.

4. Funtimes - 204 Words - 4 TPE

Well, since in the Director of Fun, it would be obvious that I would be the best at giving people a fun time. And true enough, I have lots of ideas, but thats not what i'm all about. To me, its what others want. So I go and take surveys from everybody on the Scarecrows, like the players, coaches, GM's, and everybosy else that makes the team run, like trainers, waterboys, right down to the janitors that keep the building running. But sometimes I have to figure something out on my own, and dont you worry I have lots of ideas packed away in my little brain. For example, I always though that renting a beach to ourselves would be fun, to get everybody to just chill, drink some pina coladas, and go swimming with the guys. Or even just something small like flying out to another city on an off day to go watch them play, and buy a whole section of seats just to ourselves. The most important thing to me in my opionion is getting everybody involved. Because a team cant run without the small things and they need to be recognized too.

13. Superstitious - 200 Words - 4 TPE

Well, we havent really had a chance to make it to the finals in a few years, so the Conference Chapionship trophy isnt a superstition for our team right now. The team has a few superstiotions, well not really a superstition, more of a ritual i guess. When we stay out of town for a road game, we always head to the hotel we are staying at before our game and all head to the pool to chill and talk hockey before our game that night. But after a game, no matter if its a win or a loss, we all head to the bar and have a few casual drinks while we sit and chat about the game that night. But if we are talking about individual superstitions, i have a few that i have to honour. The first is to wear nice clothes before and after a game, no matter the circumstances, and my second one is to put every peice of equipment on left to right, like left shinpad to right, left elbow pad to right. It just how ive done it my whole life I guess, and it wont change.

16. Goals - 192 Words - 3 TPE

Well, for me I have mt sights set very high for Lasse Zeigler. This is only my second player in the SHL, and I am pretty sure most people know how that went. So I really want to do really good with Lasse and hopefully hit 2000 TPE with him. That is my first goal. But thats not all. I want to go into the SHL draft with my sights set high, and hopefully go in the first round, or maybe hit the high second round. Then from then on I try my best to gain TPE on a regunal basis to hit 700 TPE for my rookie season in the SHL. I hope to hit 25 assists in my rookie season, and hopefully hit like 50 in one season. But lets be real. The onl thing anybody wants is to be on a winning team. I hope i go to a team that will win eventually in the future, during my prime, so i can maybe win som ore later on. And younever know, the HOF is a pretty nice touch up in the end.

Fan Appreciation Day will be the best game of the season. Firstly, it will be mid season-ish to boost moral and engagement during the lull that is inevitable with January hockey. This will also help with that post holiday crash many people experience after new years is over and everything goes calm. Secondly, it will line up for when the Yukon Malamutes play the Nevada Battleborn. This is because Nevada is quality people, so if any opposing fans show up I want them to enjoy the festivities that is fan appreciation night. Yukon has in store a very special event planned where they encourage fans to bring their small dogs, and dog under 25lbs is welcomed. During the second intermission we will have an on ice race! Any dog that wants to enter. We will have three heats followed by a winners heat. The top 3 winners will be presented with amazing dog centered baskets filled with treats and toys. And 1st place overall will win a special custom Yukon Malamutes Dog Collar for their quick pupper to wear. But do not fret, we do not stop there. We understand not everyone has a small dog, as many prefer bigger dogs. And no hate to the cat lovers, even if they are the less superior species. The first two thousand fans to show up to fan appreciation night will receive a stuffed animal dog of the Yukon Malamutes own mascot, North! An adorable reddish brown malamute puppy. Will you be there to secure one of these adorable North plushies?

Of course most of the players wanted to go golfing, but I told them that must have to wait for I planned they best, most relaxing outing they could imagine! Now before I announce the plans, get all your sexists ideologies out of here, men need self care too. We will begin our morning at an amazing vinyard. I have arranged a tour of the grounds followed by a wine tasting. Wine is a great way to relax you head to toe, and do not worry, I have arranged transport. No DUIs for us please. After we have the tasting, we will grab lunch at a local food truck. Who doesnt like trying street tacos. Fill up then we will all head to the local spa. We will start with massages. The wine relaxed us, not time to loosen up. Hockey is hard on the body and we need to care for it. After this, we will head to the sauna. Steam up time. There are other options at the spa if you do not wanna sauna like manicures, facials, or even waxing if that your thing. After this is over I have arranged for us to go to a private adult only resort. We will get dinner at the resorts resturant. Then spend the evening in the pool with the swim up bar, all pre paid. There will be music and dancing and amazing lights. Players can end their night when they wish and head up to their room to crash. What a fun day.

This way of doing CW is much better then the old way. For starters there are many more topics now so its easier to find a topic I feel I can write on. 9. What's in a Name?
The name "Mu Wisconsin" comes from a bit of sim league legacy, actually. I wanted to make a character that would match the render of Texas from Arknights, so I decided to just give her the name of "Wisconsin" since that's a state I'm much more familiar with and much prefer over Texas. I'm born and raised in Chicago and Wisconsin is just one big suburb for us so I've been there many times, have family who lived there that we'd regularly visit, and growing up I sorta had a weird thing of not knowing if I should be a Bears or Packers fan. So, Wisconsin isn't exactly my home state, but it has a level of meaning to me. Actually, nowadays whenever I create a player and give them a real college that they went to it's always between Oregon (long-time favorite football team), Northern Illinois (the school my dad dropped out of and my original plan for college), or Wisconsin-Madison (I have so much Wisconsin merch). So yeah, Wisconsin is important. But what I really wanna talk about is the first name, which technically shouldn't exist. This is where sim league history comes in. I wonder how many people remember the original ISFL (the NSFL back in the day) and one of the strangest characters: None Stormblessed. This guy decided to put all of his TPE into speed and that's it. He also only had a last name, "Stormblessed". The simmers had no clue how they were supposed to enter it, because the game demanded a first name. So, they ended up going with just having the first name be "None". You'd see "N. Stormblessed" in all of the top receiving stats and it was a running joke. The person behind the player wasn't really a good person, but that name always stuck with me. So, with the render Texas being a mono-name character, I wanted to do the same thing for Wisconsin. However, I remembered that story about Stormblessed and decided that I needed to add something a little extra. So, I put "None" in the first name at first. Then, I realized that I could probably do better than that. I've previously put a lot of thought into my characters and where they come from, even doing deep research into some random Japanese island and digging into studies about kanji to create Mai Fukushuu in the ISFL. So, I instantly thought of one of the greatest overlooked Japanese directors of all time, Yasujiro Ozu. As a film student, I'm constantly bombarded with a bunch of random filmmakers and what they did to change the way film works. But, there's only so many times I can hear someone ride Scorsese's nuts. Ozu is sorta the MF DOOM type of director where most normal people don't know who he is, but he's your favorite director's favorite director. You've probably heard more about Kurosawa being spoken of in those terms, but it's really Ozu who influenced a lot of the art cinema that I really enjoy. A big hallmark of his work was how slow it moved. While many of you may not like that, I really love the way that he allows the scenes to breathe. He focused more on the personal moments of characters, completely ignoring larger events within the story that other directors/writers would really build out. That sort of empty space, the absence of being, was such a major part of Ozu's belief system that when he died, instead of having his name on his gravestone, he requested the kanji character for this concept: 無. It's read as "Mu" and is translated as "nothingness". So, I used that word for her first name. However, you may notice that when I talk about Wisconsin, I only use her last name. I hope others realize this and start doing that too, as her first name is essentially "N/A". It is an empty, null space. But it has some nice history behind it at least.

12. On the Radar
Scouts should have a lot to be optimistic towards for Lambert. Scouts in the junior level have been aware of his offensive talent for a while. Lambert has a great shot and sees the ice in a way that allows him to be in the right position at all times to rip one towards the net. However, scouts were heavily concerned about his defensive capabilities going into the SMJHL draft. Due to an over abundance of forwards, Carolina had him penciled in on left defense for the season, which most scouts would’ve had called one of the craziest moves of all time. He was unproven on defense as a center, let alone as a full blown defenseman. However, after this season, Lambert put those worries to bed. He lead the Kraken in plus/minus this season with a solid +21, showing a great ability to keep the puck on the opposite end of the ice. His ability to work the defensive mindset did not dull his offensive skills much, either, as he was second in points for defensemen on the team with 35. However, a new concern has emerged with the end of playoffs coming: his abilities under pressure. When the games seemed to matter, Lambert seemed to fall apart. In the Kraken’s 19 postseason games, Lambert had only 6 points, with only 1 of those points being a goal. While this may be a bit of concern for scouts in the show, this may be something that smooths itself out with age and experience in seasons to come. (259 words)

13. Superstitious
Lambert is very superstitious about only one thing before games: his pregame meal. His mom would always make spaetzle, a dish kind of similar to mac and cheese, to go along with his meal before every game as a kid, and he’s continued that tradition through his entire career. Regardless of what the entree he decides on for his pregame meal, he has to pair it with spaetzle, or else he will feel completely off for the entire game. (79 words)

14. R&R
Lambert was devastated when Carolina lost in the second round to the Detroit Falcons, and personally felt like he deserved a decent bit of blame. His performance left a lot to be desired. Maybe if he had played better it could have gone differently? After a couple of days of thinking like this, he realized that beating himself up about it wasn’t going to get anywhere, and all he could do is look forward to the next season. He decided to fly back home to Germany for a couple of weeks to unwind and reset his mind around family and lifelong friends, which did the job in raising his spirits. He hired a personal trainer for the offseason to push him to a new level in order to make the leap for next season and be better prepared for the grueling, constant battle that the playoffs are. Next season, he’ll be ready. (152 words)

15. Charity Drive
Lambert loves to get involved with charity, and tries to spend time giving back to various groups. He often plays street hockey with local special needs children and tries to deliver for Meals on Wheels at least once a month. In the coming offseason, he has plans to volunteer for a marathon that will benefit a foundation that is committed to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease. (67 words)

17. Feedback
Personally, I love this method for Championship Week way more than the original way. I feel like the original way was super limiting for what people could put down. If you had a really good deep dive into one of the topics, you’re still only earning 3 TPE on it after that 150 word mark, regardless of how many more come past that. This way, though, everyone’s still getting the same amount of writing in for the total max, but have a lot more flexibility on what they want to write about for each of the various prompts. Big props to whoever decided to switch it to this way, I’m a big fan. (113 words)

14 R&R
With the offseason coming under way and now in full affect, Daniel Grumathan heads back to Germany to spend some much needed time with his loved ones. Being born in Germany, it is hard for me to be able to see my family for long stretches of time as I have to be constantly traveling across North America and it is a bit unreasonable to ask of my family to come visit when I might not have a lot of time with them in the first place. The first couple of days will probably be used just to catch up on what has happened since I left for North America but also a lot of doing nothing. Just relaxing after such a long and hard season of hockey. After some time I'm sure I'll get back to hitting the ice to improve on some of the areas I'll need to for the SHL.

16. Goals
I have answered this question quite a lot these last couple of days due to the few scouts or general managers that I have gotten the chance to chat with as the SHL draft comes ups so I have also had a lot of time to think about. With my last player, Nicholas Owens, it was a lot about just making the best player I could. I wanted to make a HOF worthy player so that I could feel like the time I poured into the site and that player was worth it. Although it will be a while before I even have the chance to be inducted into the HOF, I think regardless of even if I make it into the hall I'm happy with what I was able to accomplish that I do not have to worry too much about making a HOF player this time around. I more so just want to chill with this player and have a good time. I'm completely fine with having just a mediocre player this go around as long as I have that. If I am able to win some hardware or maybe break a record though, that would just be icing on the cake of Grumathan's career.

17. Feedback
I probably have not done any point task, or at least on a even semi regular basis since like low-mid s60's so having recreated I was a bit excited to get back to doing them but honestly it is kind of as boring as I remember. Not to hate on the teams behind them though, I know how hard it is to be able to produce so many prompts. I did find that I enjoyed the mpt prompts a bit more than the pt prompts though. I'm guessing the pt prompts are a bit more designed to get people to look more into the league but I liked the more creative and more fun prompts that the mpts provided. As for the CW, I think it is definitely improving. I like the 1 tpe for every 50 words that you write so that I can write as much as I want for each prompt and I like the very wide choice of prompts here.

1. Fan Appreciation Day
During the final home game of the season that the Kelowna Knights played against their biggest rivals, the Vancouver Whalers, they decided to reward all of their fans for their continued loyalty and support with a special souvenir to remember the game and the season as a whole. On each seat of the arena was a foam sword and shield, very in keeping with the knight theme and during the game, the fans all waved the swords at the same time to create a fun little display for those in attendance to see. It was a very encouraging season on the whole for the Knights, who were able to achieve a great deal and a little gift like this really goes a long way to bring the fans and those in the building feel a little bit closer to each other. Hopefully this fan and team connection builds even more into the future and nights like these become more regular.

10. In the Zone
I'm a big fan of exactly the type of player outlined in this brief. In my mind, there is no player worthy of more admiration than the one who significantly elevates his game when he's playing for all the marbles, against the toughest opposition with the chance of glory on the line. In this season's playoffs, there are a few individuals who have caught my eye as being the type of player that we should admire on this respect, chief among them is Jack St. Clair of the Quebec City Citadelles. Now this isn't to say that Jack had a poor regular season, which his highly impressive 68 points in 66 games, but his performances in the playoffs have made even these look incredibly tame. In the 25 postseason games that he's played this season, Jack has managed to put together a run that is quite astonishing, accumulating 22 goals and 21 assists for a quite astonishing total of 43 points during the playoffs. This type of play clearly shows Jack's ability to go from playing great to playing at an elite level when it really matters, with Quebec going on to win a Four Star Cup and it being hard to argue that Jack was not the most important piece of that squad given what he has been able to do in the postseason. The QCC squad is full of players who delivered strong playoff performances, but If we want to look at another player on a different team who was able to achieve significant things, Derek Martin of the Carolina Kraken stood out to me as being of note. He went on an impressive postseason goalscoring run, notching 12 in the 19 games that he played, a much better clip than the 26 goals he posted in 66 regular season games. Although it wasn't enough to push Carolina deeper into the playoffs, nobody can doubt that Derek significantly increased his performance level with a lot on the line and gave everything he could to help elevate his team and get them toward the finish line. I'm sure there are other performers out there of note, but in the interest of not repeating myself I'll end this task here but just note that it's definitely been an interesting year in the playoffs when it comes to individual performances. Hopefully all of those who showed an improvement from their regular season performance recognize how important these games are and are proud of what it is that they've achieved!

14. R&R
Given that Isak has so much to worry about this offseason with the upcoming draft and contract negotiations with his SHL team to think about, he’s determined to use the first part of the offseason while the playoffs conclude to rest up as much as possible. He’s set to fly back to Norway to spend time with family and friends, some of whom he hasn’t seen for quite a long time, before slowly easing back into a training regime so that he’s ready to hit the ground running at training camp. Expect Isak to spend a lot of time relaxing by the lake, having beers and catching up on the things he life he’s sacrificed over the last season.

Milestones +3

17. The SMJHL pts were alright this season. I haven’t done a PT in a few years since I had a PT pass but they were on par with what I expect for a PT. One thing to think about is the prompts for the mPT in my opinion were better than the main PT. I felt as though I could write much more for the 25 word prompts than 25 words and at times struggled to not spam write random crap in the main pts. This might be a thing that just I found since I am not reading these but that was the one note. (106)

16. My goals for the career of my player are short and sweet. The first goal is the break the sim record for fights. Only losers want to play full games and as someone who is a fan of dabbing over the dead bodies on people in games I will dab over all of the losers who try and fight me in my career. The second goal is to become universally hated for using gifs and emotes to respond to things. These are great ways to interact with people and I will make sure that we do what we can to make emotes the main language of the shl. The last goal is to make the HOF and have as many teams as possible on the banner. I want the graphics folks to struggle making the team logos fit on a banner. This requires both a long career and a career where I put up plenty of points and hits. Stats will be key here as I will likely end up playing for some shit bag teams which will be poor for my career goals but will get an extra logo on the baner. This is the full goal list for my players career. Its not long but it is great (210)

14. I am spending ym time preparing for the SHL draft by doing the old Arron Rodgers rretreat. I am removing al ability to contact me and vibing. Some of this is because most GMs in the SHL are annoying fucks who I just don’t want to interact with, the rest of it is relaxing though. Its worked out great. Have I pissed some people off? Sure but it is absolutely worth it. Also I guess I spent some time working on my dabbing skills. If you are not willing and able to dab on you opponets then why even try on the ice. This will become by signature move and the fans of the city I end up in in a few seasons will fall in love with it. It also is a highly marketable thing and we will be sure to design and sell t shirts around this elite concept. (151)

12. none. No one should want to draft me and none of them do. Sure scouting messages have been sent, but im not going to any of those places long term. We will travel from team to team in this career making friends but mostly enemies along the way. Being a high pick is over rated so going top 5 is likely out of the question additionally top 10 is probably a stretch. Second round is key, maybe even fall to the third. The draft will be fun but no team should want to draft me and they absolutely should not draft me early. (104)

4. As the director of fun in anchorage we are going to be doing one thing. Dance classes with my favorite dance instructor @Gwdjohnson the one thing we will learn in these classes is how to dab. It turns out our friend gabe is only good for two things, adding sugar to salads and dabbing in a gnome costume weekly. He is a strange dude but these classes will be an elite moment and help with team bonding. It helps that he is an alum so he will know all the quirks that go with being jn anchorage and wearing an armada jersey. (102)

17. Feedback (260~ words)

I really enjoy the changes to the CW, from what I remember in the past, having to do the math to squeeze out maximum points meant taking some prompts that I found it hard to write about, or didn't necessarily even care about. While I always appreciated that the writers/hosts/PT people tried to keep CW entertaining, I didn't exactly keep up on a lot of the league goings-on or "drama", so like in S54, having a prompt to write about Andrei's missing brother... I have no idea what that was about, or how to even approach it. Some of them in the past were also conditional, prompts available to teams that didn't make it to the playoffs, or prompts only for teams there were in the playoffs, podcast or graphics prompts... Which is great if you're making that kind of content already, but if you're not, that leaves you an even slimmer number of tasks to pick from. While it's not a requirement to feel engaged about every topic you write about, it definitely does help, otherwise you just feel like you're shitting out a word salad trying to reach an arbitrary 150 word goal about what slogan you would put on a billboard in one of the losing team's cities. The new topics are more general and there's plenty to pick from, and there are also still graphics topics for people who would prefer to do those. Rolling the end of season milestone stat bonuses into the CW is also a nice change.

3. Secret Plans (310~ words)

Darnell is going to go full Jon Wolf mode, committing acts across the league which are technically not illegal, but definitely pointless and disruptive. Stuff like going to opposing stadiums and opening up wifi hotspots with the same name as the existing wifi to confuse players and visiting family members. Technically not a crime, but it's definitely gonna mess a few people up. He'll go to other teams barns and offer to take pictures of people with opposing players, but count down from 10 before taking the picture to throw them off their game. Sinister. Dastardly. But the worst part? It's not even illegal. You're allowed to count down from whatever number you want and there's nothing, legally speaking, anyone else can do about it. Have you ever heard of a treadmill? Well Darnell is going to replace the treadmills in the team athletic facility with breadmills, which are treadmills with tracks made out of bread. It's much softer to run on, but it gets destroyed very quickly. Inefficient and wasteful, but I dare anyone to tell me it's illegal. This one is borderline - sneaking into other teams locker rooms and unrolling and rerolling their spools of tape a few times so that it becomes slightly less sticky. It probably won't even make much of a difference but it's a very subtle and very minor way to inconvenience a team and perfectly legal. Similarly, every time he visits and opposition barn, he slightly increases the audio frequency of the home team's goal buzzer. It's so subtle that you probably couldn't even notice it if you tried, but it's certain to throw off some of the opposing players, especially if they have sensitive hearing or are part dog. It's way easier to just troll the opposition in so many subtle ways, and I can't stress enough that none of this is actually illegal.

4. Funtimes (310~ words)

Two words: Mandatory factory job. Nothing builds team spirit like working together on an assembly line in an unfamiliar location. Bring your hardhats, ear protection and steel toed boots because buddy, the Timber are getting forklift certified and rustling up a good time down in Gary Indiana. Statistically speaking the likelihood of any serious injury is incredibly low, so long as hi-vis vests are worn at all times, and OSHA standards are followed. There's nothing like punching the clock at 8:00 AM and assembling on the production floor for a meeting delivered in alternating rounds of English and Spanish, then punching back out at noon so everyone can disperse for 30 minutes and go to number of the numerous gas stations for a nutritious hotdog and slurpee lunch. Not only will the team be able to learn a valuable skill (such as forklift certification) but they'll also learn how to communicate with one another using non-verbal signs such as the shrug, head scratch or the head tilt, because I truly cannot stress enough how loud the interior of a factory is on the production floor. There's a reason everyone's always screaming on Dirty Jobs, and it's not because the crew forgot to bring a boom mic that day. Working in an active factory also imparts the necessity of working as a team to accomplish the same goal, be it slapping a puck into a net or slapping a manufactured good into a box, or a pallet laden with industrial materials onto the back of an 18 wheeler. It's also a great way to remind some of these superstar millionaire divas that we're all just cogs in a greater machine, and we all have to play our parts for stuff to work. Just like you don't want someone slacking on a quality control check, you don't want your center slacking on the backcheck.

1. Its always nice to see fans show their love for players and their teams, especially for young new players. There just seems to be some special kind of fervor when it comes to young players with a lot of potential that drives some people crazy. If Robin was to design something it would most likely be something really simple, like a nice trucker cap. Those are always going to be a top choice. It would be given out at the last home game of the season and on the inside of the cap would be the signatures of all the S69 Raptors. On the front would be the logo as well as an SMJHL S69 stamp.

3. I think the secret plan is to get more physical. Especially for Robin. Nothing quite gets a crowd and team as pumped as a big open ice hit or a good fight and Robin can deliver in both those aspects and he will be working hard over the offseason to make sure that he can help deliver that to his teammates and the fans.

6. Aside from being the most handsome team in the SMJHL, the Colorado raptors are also historically the best dancers in the juniors. Thats a fact. On the ice, the team has a surprisingly good record considering how much of a cup drought they have been experiencing. The team won their one and only cup as the Mammoths back in S27. They've been to the finals a few times since then, most recently all the way back in S50 when they lost to the Karolina Kraken. Since then its been a rollercoaster of ups and downs where they have had a mixed amount of success but even though the team has failed to win a cup in recent memory they continue to produce fantastic players and users which makes them one of the more popular '2nd tier' teams in the J.

12. Robin is a corner stone guy. He isn't flashy and he definitely wont be one of those superstars that will show up on highlight reels but he players a solid and physical defensive game. The kind of player that the fans appreciate for their tenacity and their willingness to put their body on the line for their team. Although he is still on the smaller side he has excellent hockey sense and is completely fearless. He has all the tools to become a solid stay at home defenseman that can help liven up a team with a big hit or a fight, just don't expect him to contribute on the offensive side of the ice.

14. Robin will most likely be spending most of his summer back home in Sweden with family and friends. When he isn't around helping with farmwork or practicing his skating he's probably out on the water with his mates in Lysekil. Its a wonderful part of the world at this time of year and there's really nothing like taking the boat out all day for a swim, a fish and a feed. So a lot of work and some well deserved rest for the young Swede. If there's time or it he would love to explore Colorado a little more too as he does enjoy the great outdoors and there are few places as famous for its natural beauty than Colorado.

16. As far as goals go for Robin I'm not really going to be setting any. I'd like to just be able to put a solid 2nd or 3rd pairing defensive defenseman on the ice that will rack up some hits and win some fights every season, mostly for the roleplaying element.

17. I like this format. Lots of smaller prompts can definitely help get the words flowing a little, especially for someone like myself who doesn't have English as their first language. Going forward I think I would prefer something like this in a lot of ways. I think its particularly well suited for newer users to the league so its great in the J.
