Written Task:  Tell me what your player cares most about in terms of stadium amenities. What do they expect to see? What would surprise them, positively or negatively? What do the weight room and film room absolutely have to have? (150+ words)

Oskar Scholz is a big fitness junkie. When not on the ice or in the film room reviewing recent games you can likely find him in the weight room or on the bike trying to maximize his potential for the next game or practice. Inside the weight room the must haves are an exercise bike, a squat rack and a nice supply of hydration and protein snacks. Lately he's been a big fan of the turbomaxxx 5000 bars. They are chalked full of protein and none of the extra crap you find in your typical protein bar. Some of the typical workout stations like In the film room Scholz likes a nice comfortable chair, a projector and a solid laser pointer so he point things out without getting up and walking up to the screen. Theatre seating would be fantastic, but it's not a deal breaker. Some popcorn would be swell too, but he keeps that one to himself. He doesn't want his coaches getting the wrong idea it's movie night.

Player prompt

I think the new stadium at the least has to have the newest and most up to date technology when it comes to a lot of different areas. Obviously the locker room and gyms need to be as modern as possible with the best machines for us to workout during non game days and also have a nice state of the art area for getting ready for our games. I think more importantly for me would be having a state of the art medical facility in the building for our team doctors to help us out whenever we have injuries or other minor medical issues that don't require a hospital. The other main thing for me would be the best equipment for tending to our own equipment. Whether it be glove dryers, skate sharpeners, whatever it is. I want the best stuff to keep my equipment in the best quality for our games to allow me to play at my best without worrying about any equipment malfunctioning as frequently and if it does a way to fix it as fast and as best as possible.

The new arena for Buffalo will be located on the northside near the Niagara river, adjacent to Elmwood Village. This area is one of the nicer areas of Buffalo, with a bustling commercial and bar area along Elmwood Avenue to tap into. It is also conveniently located near highways 190 and 290, so the infrastructure is there to handle the traffic that comes along with gameday. Though this area isn't in the busier downtown area of Buffalo, it is still close enough to be convenient for any resident of the greater Buffalo metropolitan area and can also be easily reached via public transportation. There isn't a huge need to build up the arena district since it can take advantage of the nearby Elmwood Village commercial area, though since it will be a few blocks away from it, there certainly is some room for enterprising businessmen to open shops and bars to take advantage of the increased patronage in the area. Truthfully, corporate sponsors will surely secure naming rights to the arena eventually, but for now it is affectionately known as "The Ranch".

PLAYER PROMPT:

For Adelie it is absolutely essential that the new arena and any related arena district have a pool. Not just any pool though! It needs to basically be a giant indoor freezer that always stays at the perfect temperature to keep the snow from the snow machines fluffy and frozen. More than that the water itself would need to be kept at an almost frozen temperature. Just on the edge of becoming a solid so that Adelie can really enjoy his swimming time. You see, penguins are at their best when they're in the water and Adelie is no different. It gives them full body workouts that really helps to build his strength, speed, and stamina. He could spend all daybjust zooming around as if he were looking for fishes. He knows it would be too much to ask to have live fish also in the pool, but at the very least there would also need to be a nearby vendor that deals in exclusively fish and fish related products. With this in place. Adeliebwould never have to leave with both exercise and snacks within reach!

PLAYER PROMPT

Jack St. Clair is a simple man who didn't come from much and so doesn't expect much. He just looks for the basics you'd expect to find in a professional league arena. I'll tell you what though, the first time he toured the newly named Tony Pepperoni Dome he was blown away. The interior of the arena is well kept with the teams colours clearly the theme with the teams magnificent logo proudly displayed. The player amenities are first class and constantly being kept current with the best available. Starting with the film room, nice plush comfortable seats that allow everyone to see the crisp and clear screen with ease and when not being used for film review, doubles as a small theatre where the players can hang out and watch their favourite movies or play any of the current gaming consoles. The weight room has everything you'd expect to find in a weight room with all the equipment well maintained and in tip top shape. There is a lounge with gaming tables such as foosball, ping pong, and billiards. Things are so nice in the TPD that its hard to kick the players out at the end of the day.

Well, it's all quite simple, really. I'm not a lavish man; I need no luxury. But there are some areas where it simply will not do to skimp on quality for the sake of budget. In the Winny Lights stadium, there must be triple-ply Charmin Ultra Soft toilet paper in every bathroom. Anything less is borderline cruel, yet sadly not unusual punishment. We are humans. We deserve to have our rectums cleaned by something that is soft, not just something that could technically be used as a magic eraser. Moreover, there is also an environment that the bathrooms in the stadium must develop. An environment of ease, convenience, and cleanliness. This type of environment in a bathroom can only be achieved by the inclusion of one particular element of toilet-related convenience: the toilet paper roll must be in the "over" position. Society will not (and should not) tolerate the under position in any public space. The only acceptable place for the under roll position is if there is a toddler or a cat in your house who loves to unfurl the entire roll onto the ground.

Prompt 2 - The locker room (not the arena) needs a state of the art gaming room. Conner wants to be able to play RuneScape during, before, and after practice and he wants it down in RBG. Only the most expensive gaming chairs. Accessible (and free) GamerFuel ™. And the fastest and most mega-Hz gaming monitors you can buy so he can play a 32 bit game that came out in 2004. He also needs a trap door with a foot bath thing in front of his locker so he can soak his feet after games. Conner is starting to get old and the tightness of his skates leaves his feet swollen after games and the only thing that soothes it is epsom salt baths after the games. And the last thing is a massive vending machine of (free) GamerFuel ™. Did you hear that Conner is sponsored by GamerFuel ™? That's why the arena will be called GamerFuel ™ Ice Palace.

first prompt

The new arena in Calgary would aim to represent the nature of the city by getting a sponsorship from Pringles, since that's what the most recognizable rink in the city looks like. The district around the arena would be built in a way so that it's easily walkable and spectators wanting to go to the game only need to take a transit option to get to the general area and then can access the various bars all around the district. Hotels are also a must so that people coming from out of town to watch their road teams play in Calgary have a place to stay, so ultimately it would be best for this arena to be built right in the downtown area where there's space. This would of course be really expensive, but since this is all being constructed on the taxpayer's dime no expense needs to be spared to create the fanciest, most over-the-top arena in the...province?

Players typically expect state-of-the-art facilities that cater to their needs and enhance their performance. They value amenities that prioritize their physical well-being, comfort, and convenience. This includes spacious and well-equipped locker rooms with individual storage space, showers, and modern amenities. Additionally, they appreciate well-maintained and high-quality playing surfaces that minimize the risk of injuries.

In terms of surprises, players would be positively impressed by innovative features that enhance their experience. This could include advanced recovery facilities such as hydrotherapy pools, cryotherapy chambers, or specialized medical and rehabilitation areas. Cutting-edge technology, such as interactive training equipment, virtual reality simulators, or data analytics tools, would also be highly valued.

Regarding the weight room and film room, they are crucial areas for player development and preparation. The weight room should be well-equipped with a wide range of strength and conditioning equipment, including free weights, resistance machines, and cardio machines. It should also have dedicated spaces for stretching, warm-up, and recovery exercises.

Creative Prompt

Chicago's new arena will be revolutionary. Why build an arena in the middle of the city when you can use the water that's already right next to the city and build it in the middle of the lake? The new home of the syndicate will be called Lake Michigan Place (future sponsors welcome) and will use the surface of Lake Michigan for the surface of the ice. The foundation of the arena will of course allow for the water to be directed and controlled to allow for consistent freezing, but the main draw of the arena will be the fact that it's on the lake. There will be almost no planning done for what the surrounding area might look like because the entire budget of the arena construction must go into safety planning. In order to pull off such an ambitious build, we need to make sure that everyone is safe while watching or playing the game. I'm sure it'll be really cool though and not a complete waste of money.

P2: When it comes to stadium amenities, as a star hockey player, what I care most about is a top-notch facility that caters to my needs and enhances my performance on the ice. Firstly, I expect to see state-of-the-art locker rooms with spacious and comfortable individual stalls, complete with personalized equipment storage, ventilation, and modern amenities. It's crucial to have a well-designed dressing room that promotes team unity and provides a relaxing atmosphere before and after games.

In terms of surprises, positive experiences would include exceptional training facilities that go above and beyond standard expectations. This could involve advanced technologies like cryotherapy chambers, hydrotherapy pools, or recovery centers equipped with massage therapy and physiotherapy services. Such amenities would greatly contribute to player recovery and overall physical well-being.

Regarding the weight room and film room, these areas are crucial for my performance and development. The weight room absolutely has to have a wide range of modern strength and conditioning equipment. It should include Olympic lifting platforms, free weights, resistance machines, and cardio equipment to cater to various training regimens. A dedicated strength and conditioning staff would also be essential to guide and support my training program.

In the film room, I expect a high-quality audiovisual setup with large screens or projectors, comfortable seating, and advanced video analysis tools. Access to game footage, opponent analysis, and individual performance review are vital for me to improve my skills and strategize effectively.
