The New England Wolfpack made the playoffs and won the president's trophy this season. We have been one of the most dominant teams on the ice day in and day out for pretty much the entire year and it has paid off in dividends. I expect that we're going to run right through the opposition right up until about the conference finals or so. The first round we played TBB and were able to get them in a 4 game sweep. Next round we played the Montreal Patriotes and while they were more of a challenge than the Barracuda, they too were bounced after just 5 games. Now in the conference final we play the Philadelphia Forge and I expect that to be quite the hard fought series. They've been a good team and were the team we had to face last time we made the conference finals back when we won the cup. That series was 7 games and I fear this one will be as well.

we did make the playoffs and there is one reason and one reason only that we are going to demolish the competiton. that reason is our ability to fight and win those fights game in and game out. this comes from our daily fights in the locker room due to gnabe beign an absolute menace for the team. this in the end has helped team morale greatly as we know that we will actaully fight for each other physically and none of the maybe they have my back stuff creeps in. now when it comes to the actual games we are going to take the game plan that we used for teh alien battle, we are going to fight after every faceoff and try to physically beat the shit out of everyone so they are unwilling to step on the ice for teh next shift. thius is a fool proof way to win multiple games a season and workes well in hte playoffs.

Player Prompt -
I think the Edmonton Blizzard will beat the Seattle Argonauts because we have been one of the more consistent and stronger teams in the league in the last few seasons. Seattle has been on a bit of a downturn ever since they won multiple championships with their players aging out and the team slowly starting a rebuild or retool of sorts. The Edmonton Blizzard meanwhile are a younger team that has still yet to hit their peak but are playing at a high level. I think the Seattle Argonauts will struggle to keep up with the youth and talent on this Edmonton Blizzard roster in the playoffs and will be put away quickly as a result. Although they do have championship experience they just dont really have the physicality they once did with Kermit Murphy and Bojo Biscuit and those style of players nor have the talent to keep up with the Blizzard in a best of 7 series.

Well since we are the Winnipeg Aurora, this is easy. We have made the finals three times in a row and have failed to raise the cup. Since I’m one of the most cursed users in the league, we will stomp each of our opponents on the way to the cup, take an early series lead and then fail to close it out again because the sim gods hate us. As of this writing, Edmonton is our next opponent and they have had a strong goaltending performance out of Justin Time this postseason. They are a great team overall and they performed nearly as well as we did during the regular season, but have a significant weakness carrying a 425 TPE defenseman. Also apparently Ethan Duncan decided to save all of his scoring prowess for the playoffs and has become a passing machine. If he can keep that up, the team will have no problems moving on. The Aurora will exploit that weakness and once again make it to the cup final where perhaps we can finally make it to the promised land.

CREATIVE PROMPT / STORY MODE - The Trap Closes

Team,
I'm afraid that I must be the bearer of bad, but narratively predictable, news: the mice have betrayed us. In their quest for the ultimate answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything they gave us the Earth itself, and for this we must be eternally grateful. Had the mice not created the supercomputer deep thought, the second most powerful computer ever created, there would be no planet earth as our world was designed by deep thought to complete the task of discovering the ultimate answer to the ultimate question. It seems the mice in their infinite wisdom believe the answer is hockey and they now own the copyright for the game itself. This is why we have but one choice to move forward: it's time to knuckle under and accept the whims of our tiny, furry overlords. PGHL commissioner Hairy Bettmouse  is in charge now. Deal with it.

ok, cool?

cool.

The Panthers roster coming into the playoffs has their core roster players set and are just waiting for progression to contend.  San Francisco is currently waiting for the prospects to pan out.  The expected core pieces from their Season 68 has been mixed with only two of those draftees panning out (Toasty and Hargreeves.)  Since the Pride’s current projected contention window is still several seasons away the roster isn’t built to win playoff games as of Season 72.

The Panthers have a more TPE rich roster.  Almost every player on the Panthers major league roster is over 700 TPE, with nine skaters over 1000 TPE.  Compare this to the Pride who only have six skaters over 1000 TPE.  Where the discrepancy is largest is the goaltenders between both teams.  The Panthers’ tandem are both over 750 TPE, with starter Gregorz at 975.  San Francisco’s 1A is just over 770, and their backup is below 300 TPE.

Unfortunately, Great Falls had a pretty rough season, coming in last place. It went south from the start when our starter goaltender got suspended for an illegal substance violation and had to miss a few games. We were in a very strong division that did not guarantee a playoff spot, so we could not afford to lose our starting goalie for any amount of time. We held decently close to colorado for awhile, however we began to totally collapse at the end of the season. I wouldn’t say that the fhm gods cursed us, we are a young team which needed a lot of growth to succeed in the future. Centers Mänty and Barron have been growing at a high rate and will reach the cap for next season. Defensemen Hill, Hlemyzd, and Thunderdome will be reaching the 425 peak, as well as goaltender Kavanaugh. Hopefully next season we will be stronger and make the playoffs, or even have a guaranteed spot.

CREATIVE PROMPT / STORY MODE - The Trap Closes

One game, winner takes all. If the aliens win they will set Earth free from the horrid fate of giving up SHL commission and wearing horrible jerseys with ads on them. If the aliens win, Earth is forever under the rule of the aliens and must give all SHL revenue to the space creatures. Earth looks to assemble the 'dream team' with the catch that this is happening in 2100 and time travel has just been invented. Going back in time, Earth looks to assemble the best of the best to beat the aliens in one final showdown. Starting lineup at center position is none other than The Great One, Wayne Gretzky. Wingers will be Mario Lemieux (even though he is a true center will play left wing) and Gordie Howe in the right wing position. Top defensive lines will be prime Nicklas Lidstrom and Bobby Orr. In goal will be SHL superstar, Beau Kavanagh who ended up competing for 8 Challenge Cups and becoming the best goaltender in SHL history. This team will crush the alien race once and for all and rid of us their existence and these PTs for good.

Hell yeah we made the playoffs. Edmonton has been a sleeping giant for some time now and it's all starting to come together. We have made it to the third round for two consecutive seasons and we still have some amazing players coming up and a roster full of youngins that are still heavily earning.

Now, how do we plan to beat our opponents? That's easy, here in Edmonton we have a three pronged approach. First, we mentally dismantle them. We chirp them from outside their hotel windows. We slide into their DMs. We send their moms flowers on their birthdays. The usual hockey stuff. Before we've ever played a game were living rent free in their moms basement.

Second, we study them. What do they eat for lunch? What's on their Netflix list? Do they tie their skates with the one-loop-rabbit-running-around-the-tree-method, or the two-loops-rabbit-ears-in-a-knot-methot? Very important stuff.

And third, we just fuckin' get it done.
