Today I buried a student of mine who was diagnosed with a rare type of Lymphoma in March.
Today was the hardest day of my life. 18 year olds are supposed to be ecstatic about their first week of University, not burying their friend.

Last year my wife’s cousin’s daughter (who I referred to in the OP as my niece because I’m not really sure what her relationship to me would technically be) didn’t feel good for a few days. Just tired and lethargic. Her parents took her to the hospital after it didn’t get better and she was diagnosed with leukemia and passed a day later.
