Texas RenegadesTeam Awards

It's the latest and greatest, shiniest edition of the late and yet on time Renegades team awards! Will they get posted earlier next season? Who knows!? Will the Renegades in the awards be just as awesome as always? OF COURSE! Everyone on this team and in the Renegades LR is awesome and they all deserve a mention here but we're going to focus on our classic awards here and celebrate a fantastic season for the Renegades and also look forward to more awesomeness to come! Let's dive into it!

The Texas Renegades "Sharpshooter" Award

(most goals this season)

In Texas, a sharpshooter is a name given to one who is quick with their pistols or highly skilled in shooting their weapon! We of course have a player who is highly skilled at shooting pucks with their stick and thus they are the Texas Renegades “Sharpshooter”.

Your Texas Renegade "Sharpshooter" this season is:

David-Arturri Donskoi! - @LarryTheMVP

That's my DAD! What a season from the team captain as he dominates the seasons with 41 goals! That's a career best for DAD! Donskoi was making great pace in the first half of the season but things started to slow down a bit for everyone mid way through the season. Maybe we'll see DAD break 50 goals next season? I'm ready for it! But let's celebrate this excellent career best from DAD now! Congrats!

The Texas Renegades "Wheel Horse" Award

(most assists this season)

In Texas, a right hand man or pal is known as a wheel horse! Given that this award is for most assists, I think we can all call that guy our right hand man!

Your Texas Renegades "Wheel Horse" this season is:

Mads McBride! - @NJBadApple

Mads joined us mid season after an exciting three way trade with Buffalo, Winnipeg and of course Texas! McBride brought all his talent from Winnipeg and picked up right where he left off and ended up leading the team with 53 assists! That's just 3 shy of his career best! I'm again positive we'll reach that again as McBride is one of Texas' star forwards and is here to help get the job done! Great work Mads! We're still super excited to have you here and can't wait to keep winning games with you!

The Texas Renegades "Ranahan" Award

(most points this season)

Another name for the best cowboy or most experienced cowboy is Ranahan. Given that this award is going to the player who got the most points in a season, it’s fitting to call that person the top cowboy or “Ranahan”!

Your Texas Renegades "Ranahan" this season is:

Mads McBride - @NJBadApple

AND

David-Arturri Donskoi - @LarryTheMVP

Did we just become best friends!? That's right! Leading the way with 84 points each are both McBride AND DAD! The guy didn't waste any time building chemistry on the ice with each other and with the rest of the team! I truly believe this is a statement of the theme of teamwork we have on this team and the depth we have on all lines! But someone's got to lead the way! Congrats to the two of you on an excellent season! Always looking forward to what's next!

The Texas Renegades "Fantobens Force" Award

(most hits this season)

Named after precious Joseph Fantobens, this award goes to the player with the most hits in a season. Joseph Fantobens was known for getting out there and crushing the body. For four straight seasons (S60-S63) Fantobens had over 300 hits a season. During those seasons he combined for a total of 1281 hits which is absolutely insane. To remember those bone crushing hits, we have named this award after him!

The Texas Renegade earning this seasons "Fantobens Force" award is:

Mads McBride! @NJBadApple

What a guy! Leading in assists, ties for most points and also out there just crushing bodies! McBride laid the beatdown on opposing players 151 times this season which was 31 more hits than their previous best last season! I'd also like to give some praise to our Wonderful Pawter Meowski @Andy as they also hit a career high in hits with 144 and is absolutely smashing bodies out there!

The Texas Renegades "Puoli Pulverizer" Award

(most shots blocked)

Puolivalmiste played an integral part in Texas’s success. They organized and managed the team into a force and led them to two challenge cup victories, season 59 and season 62. Puoli is a very well respected user in the SHL and is an absolute wealth of knowledge. The “Puoli Pulverizer” Award goes to the player with the most shots blocked, a stat well loved by GMs and their players sacrifice the body to win the game!

Hodor! - @bbjygm

Hodor!

Is it any surprise to anyone that Hodor leads the team in blocks? They've finished the last few seasons leading the league with most shots blocked and are looking to do it again this upcoming season. Looks like there's some competition out there now though but we know Hodor is an absolute beast! They're career best is 363 so let's see what Hodor can do next season! Hodor!

The Texas Renegades "Buckaroo" Award Renegades

(most underrated)

This is a new award starting in S70! Replacing the Texas “Varmint” award for most penalty minutes, we wanted to have an award for a player on the team who performed very well but also may have flown under the radar. Everyone loves a Buckaroo!

The Texas Renegades "Buckaroo" this season is:

Marton Diehm - @FaraDian

I could put many names here as everyone on the team is great and there's so many members on this team just doing work and getting it done here but this season I'm awarding the "Buckaroo" award to Marton Diehm! Looking at their player, they are up and coming and constantly getting better! They hit their career high of 72 points this season and have so much more to acheive! Their time is split on the Power Play and on the Penalty Kill and have been such a versatile player in all corners of the ice! Player aside, @FaraDian is just such an excellent and awesome person. They're very creative and talented with lots of media graphics they have designed including the amazing Rene The Redwolf mascot for the Renegades and designing the new stadium "La Salle" Arena! They are an exceptional person in every aspect of the league and it's always a pleasure sharing the ice and a locker room with them!

The Texas Renegades "Drag Rider" Award

(top performing Goaltender)

This award is also the winner of the coolest award name. A Drag Rider is a cowboy who rides at the rear of the herd. Given that the goalie sits at the back, they are indeed the Texas Renegade “Drag Rider”.

The Texas Renegades "Drag Rider" this season is:

Anthony Dionne! @Anthique

Our starter Anthony Dionne! This award is kind of his until we get a proper backup lmao. But in saying that, Dionne had a fantastic season! Their best actually! A career high 33 wins! And also a career high 4 shutouts! Also a career high (or low rather) Goals against average! So a superstar goaltending season from Mr. Dionne and only going to get better! Dionne hit his peak in TPE this season and will now start regression but there's no doubt that with all that experience and knowledge on the ice that he's ready to come back and get even better!

That wraps up another lovely season for the Renegades! We definitely had our most successful season we've had since @Anthiqueand I took over and it's far from the end! Keep an eye out for all these names above and more as we come back to play our hardest hockey yet!
