OTTAWA, June 4th, 2024 / Ottawa, Canada - The Ottawa Highlanders are proud to present the team's new Jerseys for Season 77 onwards!

After an inaugural season spent in generic jerseys arboring the city's name alone, the Ottawa Highlanders owners and front office are proud to present the team's official jerseys for season 76 and onwards. Ahead of this reveal, the team worked in close collaboration with Teprac Visuals Inc. in order to bring to life the vision the team had, harmonized with its identity as presented a few months back. Thus, the designers got to work and created three stunning jersey's for our players to wear proudly : a home jersey, an away jersey and an alternate jersey. Without further ado, we present to you our jerseys!

When asked about the design of the home jersey, Teprac Visuals Inc. had this to say:

"Ottawa's logo essentially has three main colors : green, blue, red - and theoretically some white. Since the shades of blue and green used in the logo are both relatively dark, there was not enough contrast between them so they couldn't be used together very well. We decided to use green as the main color for the home jersey with red as a contrasting color and white for some highlights. An entirely green uniform would be boring, so we played around with an even darker shade for some parts of the uniform which worked relatively well. The final design looks both modern and classic without being overly busy".

"The white away jersey essentially keeps the same theme, but uses the lighter shade of green instead for the pants and gloves, and everything else is simply inverted. It matches the home jersey really well.

Last but not least, a bold design choice fitting with the team's history, Teprac Visuals mentions that "the third jersey looks completely different. It was inspired by the Braehead Clan, a Scottish hockey team, and their special kilt jersey design. We basically took that idea and mixed it with an adapted version of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders' tartan pattern to match Ottawa's color theme. The jersey had to be blue because that color was still missing, but it also should look a little crazy! It might not be the easiest design, but it fits the team's overall theme really well".

Asked about their team's new garments, General Manager Maurice O'Bready said that " it feels good to finally be able to see the team go out there and show their colors, both literally and figuratively." He added that "perhaps our beautiful tartan tarps might confuse our opponents enough to give us a competitive advantage!"

The team will debut their new jerseys in their upcoming season opener Monday night.
