Honestly it would be cool if the SHL realized how to do a Goalie pull right and not screw us goalies but the sim is a cruel mistress unfortunately and we will probably never see that.

I think the SHL should have more ways to gamble in-game money on individual games or season long props to add engagement in sims when your team is not playing.

I think the SHL should differ from the NHL and shorten career lengths. Far too much real life time is being spent on one player which causes things to get stale and make it less appealing to recreate.

I kind of wish that there was more hype around free agency. I understand contract tiers to prevent super teams and all that in a world where the players don’t really need money and sometimes there are cap casualties but it really kind of feels like free agency is mostly an afterthought in the SHL. As we’ve seen in the NHL just this week, it can actually be pretty fun for at least a day or two. So if I made a change it would be to hype up a couple days of free agency.

Yeah, I'd like to adopt an 82 game schedule, more games more fun. Slightly longer season so people in their peak can enjoy it a bit more and it'd be pretty sweet to have SHL -> NHL comparisons since we'd have same games played marks although no injuries.

I don't care for divisional playoffs in the NHL or SHL. Sure it makes for rivalries however it leads the same match ups over and over. It gets old, fast.

One thing the NHL does that I think we should not be doing here is re-instating people who covered up bad things in positions of power, but we have better leaders here than the NHL so should be good.

League wise I think the SHL is fine. The issues to correct are more administrative like find a solution to what to do with the forums. We can't really take out anything from the NHL because of that.
I like the idea of generational talents immediately making on-ice impacts for their teams, but in a sim league I get why that isn't a thing. Even if it was like a randomly assigned bonus 100 TPE when you make a new player people would game the ever living shit out of the system. Starting everyone on a level playing field and having effort determine how far you go is really the only way to make sim leagues work.

The SHL is so deep into the meta that fighting is all but dead. The SHL should have similar role type players as the NHL. There are barely any SHL Rempes or Reaves and it's no fun, I want some fights.

I think we should enable injuries within FHM. Maybe we could have limitations (not sure how all of that works with FHM), but I think it would makes things much more dynamic and allow for other players to move up in lineups.

I think we should bring in the lower scoring from the NHL because with the way points are inflated in the sim right now it leaves us goalies looking pretty dang awful in the save percentage department

An actual free agency in the SHL like the NHL has would bring a lot of excitement to the league. The teams stay pretty stagnant here and a lot of that comes from people being friends with other members so I don't think that will every change, but more player movement would be exciting for sure.

I mean, if you think about it, it is outrageous the prices that the SHL charges for packs of hockey cards. Considering just a few bucks can grab you a pack of SHL cards with a chance at an autograph, yet here we gotta pay $50,000 per pack

i think the SHL should implement the time scale of the real world - no more 2-month seasons, the season should be 82 games and last the majority of the year. dick clapper should span 20+ real life years.
