Why am I here now? I thought about creating a small Draft Thread. More about Team Depth and Needs and also what positions the players have in the Draft. I also look at a possible Mock Draft based on Team Depth, Needs and TPE of the Draftees. And I will only look at the first four rounds of the SHL 78 Draft.
So let us start with Atlanta Inferno. They have in the Offense with Hinata a very experienced player. Then Herrington as Star Forward, Hopate, Puff, Bongo, Barron. Also Stoica and both Lavoie as call ups. That makes 9 of 9 Forwards. In the Defense they have with Johnston, Eko Eel, Seppanen, Wen and Bondage they have 5 of 6 Defender. In net they have 2 of 2 Goalies with Wen and Pitts. As sent down they have McExplosion the only one and he is LW. In the S78 Draft they have the actual first pick in Round 3 with the 56th OVA. With only one prospect in hand I can see here the best available pick. But they also should sign a 6th Defender. The 2nd team in the alphabet is the Baltimore Platoon. Here we have also 9 Forwards in Olubori, Söderberg-Tremblay, Bergmark, Valieva, both Liebolds, Alexander, Gilleyes and Baardsen. In the Defense they have Hunziker, Fry, Pettersson, Blake and Bryzi. So that makes 5 of 6. And in the net they have Devoir and Kavanagh. They have three sent downs. One Forward in Stevens, one Defender in Fewer and one Goalie in Harrison Jr. that brings us to the question if they will do an early call up on Fewer and sign this UFA Defender prospect or let him go and sign a more experienced UFA Defender. All in all they would need Forwards and Defender in the pipeline. With the 70th OVA in the S78 Draft it will be questionable to land a useful player for their future. But with luck they can land here a steal. The Buffalo Stampede are the third team in my overview. The Stampede have actually 8 of 9 Forwards under contract. Selich and Lutz are still UFA. Lakemore, Jaegerjaquez, Kane, Grumathan, Blanks, Marius, Thought and Beanman Jr are the players under contract. In the Defense they have 6 of 6 under contract. The Defender are Slowpoke, Patey V2, Chicken, Gablogian, Vandenberg Jr. and Morgonstjärna. For the net they have only Fantobens because Sieve is UFA so that also makes 1 of 2. They have three sent downs in Campeau, Vaudeville and TheGreatOne, both forwards. For the S78 Draft they have many picks. They have the 8th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 28th, 33th, and 73th OVA. So they can land here prospects for any position. In my opinion it will be a question about what they want most. With 2 forward prospects in the pipeline. I see here at first one Defender and one goalie. After that they could look for the best available. Next Team are the Calgary Dragons. They have 8 of 9 Forwards with Pedersen, van de Schubbekutteveen, Kaliyev, Murphy, both Solbergs, Moonshine and Keigan. In the Defense they have all 6 spots be taken with Holmberg, Tanner, Klapanen, Konhe, Koivunen and Gonlund. In the net they have only Montagne. But they have 6 send downs in Skovgaard, Huh and Howlett as Forwards, Gorilla as Defender and Söderström and Murray as Goalies. I can see here some call ups for the Season 78. Söderström should be ready for the SHL. Also Huh, Skovgaard and Howlett could getting their chance in the SHL. Moonshine could end up with a buyout so would have 2 more open spots to have 9 of 9 forwards. In the Draft they have the 25th, 65th and 75th OVA and they can pick surely the best available with the youth in their team. The Chicago Syndicate is the next team in the alphabet. They have actually only 6 of 9 Forwards in the SHL with Heinrich, Migraine, Ketchup, Juice, Wizard and Bamford. Minamino, Harrington, Forever and Pizza are Free Agents. In the Defense they have actually 4 of 6 Defender. Under contract are Lee-Smokes, Stoodrick, Roze and Crutchfield. Free Agents are Metzller and Campbell. In net they have two with Hurts and Mendenhall. Send downs they have three forwards with Boo, Volta and Science. Three Defender in Belcher, Lopez and Panda Jr. also one Goalie in Gil-Galad. I can see here one or two call ups in the offense with Boo and maybe also Volta. Also I can see here the call up for Belcher. If not the Syndicate needs to sign some UFA players. In the upcoming Draft they have the 48th and 68th OVA and strengthen their prospect pool after the possible call ups. Now we come to the Edmonton Blizzard. A team that started the hard cold rebuild. They have actually only one player under contract with Eaglesong as forward. The rest is UFA and Eaglesong also having a Teamoption for S78. But I can see here resignings for Latreille, Hunziker and Swanson. For the rest it depends. Maybe Frankenstero and Maple will receive a new contract offer. For send downs the Blizzard having a massive prospect pool. Actually sitting 6 forwards in the SMJHL with Telenn, Johansen, Cajabio, MattyJ, Hudson and Atlason. Here I could be Johansen, Cajabi, MattyJ and Hudson hear the call up for SHL. In the Defense they have two prospects and here they have Jackson and Effo. Jackson also could be a call up for Season 78. For the Draft they have many picks. They have the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 19th, 21st and 62nd OVA and I can see here at land a Goalie, 3 - 4 Defender and 2 - 3 Forwards. In the end they need everything for the future. The Hamilton Steelhawks is the next team. They have resigned all roster players so they have 9 of 9 Forwards in Iskandrov, NWaffles, McGinnis, Regazzoni, Urtles, Check, Lahey, Mänty and Murphy. In the Defense they have with both Koivus, Panda, Clampton, Zilliams and Nuck 6 of 6 Defender. Also in the net they have 2 of 2 with Nogoalov and D’Odeur. In the SMJHL they have 3 forward send downs in Sven, Stankoven and Pan. Jalopski is actually Free Agent. But they also have 4 Defender as send downs in McLovin, Benson, bomb and Kivimäki. In the Draft they have the picks 7th, 27th, 47th, 53th and 67th OVA. I can see here with the ages of some roster players picking up one or two Forwards, one Goalie and then best pick available. Hollywood is the next place we go. The Los Angeles Panthers is the next team and with 9 of 9 forwards. In Winter, Kobo, Rashford, Prpich, Kirby, Piastri, Martin, Castillon and Akerson. They also have 6 of 6 Defender in Forfeit, Bergling, Meagher, Maximova, Salat and Ekholm-Gunnarsson. In net they have Brzeczyszczykiewicz and Gun. As Send down they have Gagner as forward. In the draft they have the 55th and 75th OVA. They could take here the best available. The next Team are the Manhattan Rage. Here we have 10 of 9 forwards in Fiske, Lambert, Kastrba, Delfield, Morley, Nickelback, Desjardins, Murdock, Snow-Leopard and Hollywood. They also have listed the UFA VINSen who could comeback to the Rage. In the Defense they have with Iopple, Jagrbomb, Hlemyzd, MyPudding and Sundqvist 5 of 6 Defender under contract. Mayhem is actually UFA. In net they have Holloway and Stahl also UFA Baretto. As sent downs they have one forward in Kove and one Defender in Nummilavin. In the Draft they have the picks 24th, 44th, 62th and 64th OVA. I see here Forwards and or Defender to be taken by the Rage. The Minnesota Monarchs are the next team in the alphabet. With 9 of 9 forwards they are already done in the offense. With Jarrow, Flörsch, Kobliska, Knight, Hoang, kim, Gibbles, Collider and Wastlund. Koivu and Wisconsin are actually Free Agents. In the Defense they have 5 of 6 players under contract in de Pengu, Egli, Kove, Gato and Smokes. They also have with Mathieson and Stanger their 2 Goalies. In the SMJHL they have 3 forwards with Warwaha, Hanak and Styles. In the Defense they have Bob and Tomato II. Also they have Joy as Goalie and Harrison as Free Agents. In the Draft they have the picks 14th, 34th, 35th and 54th OVA. They have no really need so they can pick best available or for special wishes. Lets go to Canada. With the Montreal Patriotes we have the next canadian team. They have actually 8 of 9 forwards in Primeau, Hirano, Mutou, Beausoleil, Karlsson, Son, Banes and Slurpe. Messer is Free Agent. In the Defense we have with McScruff (the Chelios of the SHL), Serapin, Enevoldsen, Peanut, Bellona and Man 6 of 6 Defender. In the net we have actually only Ju-gong and Cannon as Free Agent. In the SMJHL sitting some send downs. 9 forwards in Fraser, Wieners, Donquixote, Davis II, Chef, McPickle, frobe, Pooyak and Vitaliy. Also 4 defender with Klaw, Booth, Defen and Ixazaluoh. In the Draft they have the picks 1st, 22nd, 41st and 61st OVA. Maybe they will take in the Draft a goalie prospect to solve all positions for the future. But also Forwards and Defender are possible of course. Having a healthy competition could help to have many top prospects if they are SHL ready. Now we have the actual Cup Champ with the New England Wolfpack. They have 9 of 9 forwards with Lacksamus, Truck, Tokyo, Ozolinsh, Beauregard, Cormier, Sawschuk, Morrow and Omega. Also 6 of 6 Defender with O’Slapahan, Davies, Tenderloin, Goldblum, Reaper and McClure III. In the net they also have 2 of 2 contracts with Karsikko and Jerry. In the SMJHL they have the sent downs Belanger as forward and Chunky, Cornwall and Vent as Defender. They also have pending UFA Miovski as Defender listed. In the Draft they have the 20th, 60th and 80th OVA. As defending Champ its nice to have still three own picks out of the first four rounds. They could add all positions but maybe it would be a goalie in the first round to make sure there is someone in the pipeline for the future behind Jerry. Karsikko is not the youngest one and regressed a bit. The next in the alphabet are the New Orleans Specters. They have actually 8 of 9 forwards contracted in Perevalov, Hale, Surkhi-Ze’ev, Rhodes, Pane, Tingle, Frazier and Johnson II. Wolf is still pending Free Agent. In the Defense they have all 6 of 6 contracted. With Topalo, Lund, Oiduser, Manius, Lappalainen and Hill. In the net they also have both goalies under contract. Lodge and Ark are their netminders. As sent downs they have Dionne, Darkshanks, Werbenjaegermanjensen, Odelein IV, Hunter and Bealey. Only Werbenjaegermanjensen is a Defender the rest are Forwards. In the upcoming draft they have the picks 52th and 72th. Here they can add some depth. Back to the East Coast to the Philadelphia Forge. With Koivu, Virrok, Salad, Dabson, Soprano, Hazbite, Lodbrok, Carda and Wood they have 9 of 9 forwards. Also in the defense they have 6 of 6 with AllBran, Emerson, Kirkby, Flusso, Barca and Shuffleboard. In net they have McQuack and PACK. Harrison is Free Agent. In the SMJHL they have Jagerson, Wingmate-Roc and Ge as forwards. In the Draft they have the 18th, 58th and 78th OVA. Maybe they will look for a Defender and Forward. They also could take later in the Draft a new goalie for the pipeline to let develop in peace. From the East Coast to the West Coast. The San Francisco Pride of California is the next team and with Laraque, Hargreeves, Scholz, Webb, Winters, Bayle, Shattenaxt and O’Beirne they have actually 8 of 9 forwards contracted and also sitting Free Agent Ozolins still on the list. In the Defense they have with both Snooks, Nyckel, Shaw and Dupah 5 of 6 Defender. Zopf is pending Free Agent. In net we have a similar situation. Time is under contract and Texas is a pending Free Agent. As sent down they have only Raymond so there are some spots open for the future. In the Draft they have the picks 37th, 57th and 77th OVA. Here they could land any position. All would help for the future. Lets go up to the north from California. Seattle Argonauts is the next team in the alphabet. With 9 of 9 Forwards in Podcalzone, Salming, Sykut, Tomlander, Tentacles, Fenix, Stolemamoney, Francois Jacques-Jean and Switchbang they have their forward squad for Season 78. Aslo in the defense they are ready with Ramsbottom, Steiner, Portal, Jääskeläinen, Kekkonen and Agate. Goalies they have only one under contract with Losanov. McStopper is actually a pending Free Agent. In the SMJHL sitting with Kondos, Steelflex, Kane and Pinard 4 forwards. Defender they have their Wollker, Mikelis and Cotswold. In net they have as send down Apeldoorn. For the Draft they have the 23rd, 30th, 36th and 43th OVA. They can easily take the best available with the prospect pool. The next team is sitting in Florida. The Tampa Bay Barracuda having 8 of 9 forwards under contract. They are Fiorentini, Biemans, Wagner-Svensson, CUDDLES, Carnage, Craig, Murray and Björntjänst. Also having to pending Free Agents in Pawn and Hascek. In the Defense they have with Brown, DuBolk, Wobet, THUNDERDOME, Sowerwine and Smith 6 of 6 contracted defender. But also in Horror one pending Free Agent. In the net they have both hand out new contracts in Soonika and Vanbiesbrouck. As send downs they have 4 forwards in Point, Spycher, O’nayse and Weight. Also one Defender in O’Fink. In the S78 Draft they have the picks 11th, 17th, 29th, 21st, 38th, 50th, 51st and 61st OVA. With the roster age and already having prospects they wouldnt make any mistake to take the best available or main targets on the draft. Now we will still be in a state of USA of the golf coast but in the centre of the USA. The Cup finalist Texas Renegades is the next in the alphabet. With Svoboda, Donskoi, Meowski, Valentine, Diehm, Dion, Bergeron and Zeigler the Renegades have 8 of 9 contracted Forwards on the roster. McBride left the team as Free Agent. In the Defense they have 6 of 6 Defender with Boots, Hodor, Doug, McCarthy, Incognito and Levesque. In the net they have Dionne and Cechmanek II. In the Prospect Pool they have Quintilio as Forward and God as Defender. In the Draft they have the picks 39th, 40th, 59th, 63th and 79th OVA. They can add Forwards and Defender without rethink about it. With Dionne and Cechmanek II a goalie wouldnt be needed. Back to Canada and the Toronto North Stars. The North Stars have actually 10 of 9 Forwards under contract. With St. Clair, Svatos, Junior II, Söderberg-Motyla, Tkachuky, Turner, Driddle, Heryam-Slava, La Sombra and Salami. They also have listed pending Free Agents Elric and Tree. In the Defense they have 6 of 6 in St. Martin, Junior, Lightning, IA, Kirkpatrick and Pyhst. As goalies they have under contract Milasch and pending Free Agents Walsh. In the SMJHL they have Kielinen as forward. Also de Vries and Harley as Defender. Also Suchanek as Goalie. In the Draft they have the 26th, 32th, 39th and 69th OVA. With a very young core and the already having prospects they can add any position. Maybe a Goalie will not be important. The last team in the alphabet is Winnipeg Aurora from Canada. In the SHL roster the Aurora having only 5 of 9 Forwards in Ward-Prowse, FourStar, Poiklm, Hardison-Laurent and O’Corn. In Defense it looks a bit better with 5 of 6 in Beck, Jammin, Kinsinger, Laroux and Tymer. In the Net they have Carpet and pending Free Agents Zile. In the SMJHL they have 6 forward prospects in Jo, Samedi, Player, Beargeron, the Virus and Boyka III. Here Jo could be called up he looks SHL ready. Winnipeg is having the picks 5th, 6th, 10th, 16th, 46th and 66th OVA. With only 5 Roster Players in SHL maybe called up Jo they also only having then 5 forward prospects. In that case the Aurora could add any position in the Draft. At last but not least I will try my own Mock Draft with the details of all teams and needs. Also it will be the draft order for 28th July 1 pm MET. I will also not include my own player. Round 1 (Picks 1-20) 1. Montreal Patriotes - Ville Sato-Maki 2 . SHL GM S30 Cup Champion Never Going To Win A Cup
It's actually wild but I think you just got every single pick wrong lol

It was just like I thought it would be the perfect fit without any trade and so on. Also after I was looking through the SHL roster of ages and position needs. I know that many teams go also the way to pick the best available and hope to land the team need in the upcoming draft or via UFA as example. But it was a nice time to do this write up and having some fun. I also wrote HFFO yesterday this explanation via Discord. I never had the intention to pick all correctly especially because I took my own player out of the order so I know at some point the mock is trash. in Top 10 I believe I have 6 correct so it gives me 6 TPE from the Mock and I like it. So the work gave me potentially more TPE than I thought
