Free agency needs work in this league but I understand why it's often slow or not exciting. Teams are pretty restricted with their budget and have their rosters set. If a big player is potentially in the market, that team isn't going to be able to pick them up. That leaves the only options for that player to be non contending teams which in most cases with free agents is not desirable. They want to play to win. This why you'll often see a sign and trade with money retained and it turns into a trade instead of a free agent signing.

Give the players more power. Let them have a free agent flex of some sort so that teams are able to sign them. Maybe then we'll see more exciting free agency.

If my team was never making moves to get better and just stuck in mediocrity then I’d likely be going to FA. That’s not the case in NOLA.

The only time I went to free agency in the SHL was due to my player being old and my team not having space with prospects coming up. It would take something like that or a new GM I didn’t like.

Thank you @xjoverax and @phoenix for the sigs!

If I was a part of a team that I didn't feel valued me, or one that sucked with no plan for the future, I'd consider free agency. Would love to see a more active FA in all sim leagues, tbh.

It would take a lot for me to leave San Fran, but I dont do configuration when Im forced into it. That is the easiest way to get me to leave.

Jeff Goldblum would never enter Free Agency willingly. Hes wanting to stay in New England till the bitter end. Only way he would leave is if Luke really needs the roster spot for a non-pylon and can get a good trade for him.

as a co gm I am unable to hit up free agency. Even if I were though I think there would be so few teams I would be willing to go to and the top teams are usually not in position to throw out big money to FA.

I've never been a big fan about free agency because I get comfortable where I go and often want to stay. That being said, I changed my player name, and no longer feel as loyal to Russia so if any nations want to tamper - come on by. Smile

I don’t plan on trying free agency currently. New England’s team and leadership is strong and I’m excited to hopefully fill a role on the team in the coming seasons.

I didn't experience free agency until my 62nd season in the SHL. To be honest, I expected a ton of suitors and it did not turn out that way. It wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. If I were to test free agency again it would have to be because the direction of the team was changing and didn't fit into my, or the team's, new timeline. If there was ever a change that needed to be made, I'd prefer the GM makes a trade so they can at least get something back.

I think this league needs an upcoming free agent list like the ISFL. It's pretty disappointing knowing your contract is expiring and apparently being the only one in the league who knows. No attempts to contact, nothing from my own GM...being forgotten by your team and the league kinda fucking sucks. I know even when people know you're a free agent, it's not always glamorous or exciting, but it would at least be nice to have known that there was even the potential to be contacted instead of just being buried on the forums with no one even knowing who's available.

It would probably take a bit of poking and prodding with a hot stick. Jokes aside, I am happy with the team I'm on but also my player is aging quickly so may have to test FA soon. I doubt i'll be seeing a bigger salary elsewhere.

I feel like there’s only a few things any team can offer to sway a player to join them in free agency: locker room vibes or success in the sim. I think its easier to gauge the sim side of things than lockerroom vibes as an outsider.

Would never do free agency, lime everyone else pretty loyal to the team. Free agency has never Bern big here, if that's what you want limit the player to 5 seasons with one team

I don't know if there is a real reason to try for free agency. NEW is a great place to be with a roster that's consistently winning and very competent leadership who communicate expectations clearly.
