Option 2:
Gordon William Gibbles was taught by his father that it's better long term to play a clean, respectable game. He had seen many players who had their career cut short from retaliatory hits, trips, and other attempts to get even. This is part of how his dad had such a long career. GW spends a lot of time in the gym to combat those who pull dirty tricks. If he is in better condition physically, he will be able to counteract any advantages as well as shut down his opponents. He is definitely not one to shy away from laying out a big hit on the opposing team to send the message that messing with him on the ice will have consequences. There was one incident in Great Falls where an opponent from Regina tried to trip him on his back check away from the play. On the very next shift, GW let the puck end up on the side boards before he broke the glass with his check.

Hoang isn’t known for his pranks, but that’s because no one knows who’s paying the equipment manager to print up jerseys with typos on them. Whether it’s rookies, goalies, or captains, no one is safe from getting an extra “-ich”, “-ov”, or “zky”. Number prints are too expensive, but Hoang hasn’t ruled them out either. It keeps players on their toes, makes them take extra care of their equipment, but they haven’t fingered anyone yet. This means that Hoang lives in relative safety for the time being, seeing who talks their way through putting their equipment on. If the heat ever gets too much, he has a jersey idea prepared for himself, that he keeps in his locker buried deep so no one can find it. One day, when the pressure gets too high and someone gets suspicious, Hai Nam Honk will take the ice for warmups, and try his best to act like he didn’t see it coming.

My player does play pranks on his teammates, but only kind and funny ones. Like he replaces the team's water with juice because of course everyone loves juice more than water, Cal Juice definitely does! He also likes to bring the team snack every week and he brings the same thing every time. Cheese and crackers and a juice box! But that's about as far as it goes, Cal Juice can't bring himself to be mean to the people that he spends all of his time with, day in and day out they're out there on the ice or in the gym or at the bar or spending the night together in a hotel. They're all his best friends and he couldn't imagine doing anything to make their days worse. Life is hard enough as it is, we should be building each other up and not bringing each other down. Especially our closest friends. :people_hugging: :chihug:

I’ve only pulled one prank since hitting the SHL, but it was a dream prank. So like: I read a lot of Captain Underpants as a kid. Did you ever read those? If you did, you probably know what sparked this. If you don’t, there’s a scene in one of them where notorious elementary school pranksters George and Harold put a bunch of jelly packets underneath the toilet seat, on the raised bumps where the seat touches the rim. The effect to this is that if anybody ever sits down on it, the jelly packets will explode onto the recipient’s pants, much to the toiletee’s chagrin. I’d never really thought I’d get the chance to, but I remembered a bit into my first season that, hey wait a minute, I’m in my early 20s on a hockey team. I can totally do that dumb shit now! Carnage ensued. I was smart enough to wear some clothes I didn’t care much about and take one of them for the team, but I got about 8 of my teammates. Good times. This is off the record, right?

James has a lot of mixed to negative feelings about tricks in hockey, owing to the fact that Ogun often relied on such tricks to win games and rake in piles of money. Old habits are hard to kick though, and Howlett knows that the refs in the SHL aren't being bribed under the table so anything that goes too far will actually be handled. All of this to say, James definitely deserves more time in the penalty box than he's landed. He definitely doesn't always wait for the ref to look away before sneaking in a dirty hit, and the glares he shoots as he does it freezes the blood of onlookers. If it weren't for Rose giving him a talking to every time he gets in a fight, he would remind everyone why refs don't step in until someone's on the ground. He's the best there is at what he does, but what he does best isn't very nice.

In an ideal world it would seem like any sort of unhanded play wouldn't be part of the sport and think that for the purity of sportsmanship, it would simply a demonstration of skill and skill alone.

Yet as many would argue, being able to get away with some of the dark arts is a matter of skill in itself that is still within the game.

If having great physical positioning that can prevent the opposition at doing what they want to do, then how is it that the arbitrarily drawn lawn is what is considered wrong.

Even as part of a commonly agreed norm, it should rather be seen that it isn't commonly agreed at all considering the numbers of different referees making different calls even with an imposed emphasis from head office to make a specific kind of call. These lines which become murkier and murkier lead straight to the slope of allowing deception as a form of skill.

If that was theoretically allowed, I think the rise of physicality would then come ahead.

Written option 1

Argenti is a steward of the finer things in life. Such as pranks and “unconventional strategies” such as a personal favorite of his passed down from his uncle and family friend back in their go carting days. See Argentis a snacker, so when he’s in the rink he’s gonna have a banana or two on him, and after he’s done he waits for the perfect opportunity, while the refs aren’t looking, to throw down a banana peel in the way of his opponents skates. As for pranks he’s much more laid back with them. His favorite one to do is putting stars on random places including hard to reach areas on his teammates cloths. But at the end of the day he he likes just having a good time and making other laugh with his more mischievous side, and as long as he’s allowing others to have a good time we will keep trying to make his buddies laugh.

There is a saying about if you're not cheating then you're not trying. This easily applies to the game of hockey as well. If you're not doing everything you can to get an advantage over your opponent then you're not trying hard enough. To that end, Andren is in favour of employing any kind of the dirty tricks he can fathom to get an advantage. He is an agitator after all. Embellishing calls, chippy, underhanded hits during the scrum, insults that ride the line between acceptable and not. He'll do anything to get his opponents off their game. Sometimes it gets him tossed from the game but it's well worth it if he's able to get his team the win. Of course, you've gotta stop your opponent from doing the same to you. For Andren, that just means going after whomever is doing it to his team. Shit talking chippy player? Gonna be a fight now or at least a hard hit and a chirp of his own.

Writing option 2 (157 words):

Volta feels that tricks can happen at any time during a hockey game. In fact, people can find loopholes to get an advantage and that’s how the sport is. The real life one that I can found is the 1-3-1 formation using by many teams to block the passes to go through the center of the ice. Volta loves this trick so that’s why we can see a lot of takeaways in that can leads to some good assists for him. Another trick that Volta loves to do is to be a bit dirty to get some powerplays for the team. In fact, Volta isn’t a fighter, but he can still make some dirty hits to spark a bit the game and the trigger one of his opponents to make a penalty. Getting a punch in the face for a possible 2 or 5 minutes of powerplay for the team isn’t going to hurt Volta at all!

Option 1:

Matiss usually isn’t the one to play pranks on other teammates and usually leaves those kinds of things to other players. The only prank that he will be a part of is rookie initiation and that really isn’t even a prank it’s more like a fun time. Rookie initiation happens when incoming rookies have to get it in front of the locker room and sing a song. They can be any song that they want. They just have to sing it in front of the team after a practice or meeting. That way it is not harmless and it is a good bonding experience with all teammates. Now, if Matiss were to be pranked by one of his other teammates he would get a nice laugh out of it because usually the pranks that are polled are pretty harmless and more funny. It’s always fun to see what other teammates come up with and are willing to do as far as the pranks go.

Does vaping fat clouds and making a general mess of the locker room with copious quantities of buttery popcorn count as a prank? If so, that is what Mary Hollywood does with concerning frequency. Her teammates like to play a little joke back on her as retribution for this prank, where they take all of her things and throw them out back of the stadium before lighting them on fire. I jest. That doesn't actually happen. But if you asked any of Mary's teammates whether or not they would look the other way if something were to happen to Mary's things, I'm willing to bet that they'd willingly turn a blind eye to any and all Mary-directed bullying. This is why Mary needs Betzee @kahri around to teach her how to not act like a jackass all the time. It's a miracle that the locker room in Regina decided to make her the captain. What a cancerous locker room that must have been. No wonder they never won anything. I blame Reno. @Reno

Written Option 2:

Slip McScruff has no reservations about using tricks to get an advantage. However, it's more like trying to negate the disadvantages of being super old. He's not tricking his way into being the best defender in the league. He's tricking his way into being a replacement level defender who can fill a roster spot.

He mainly tricks his coaching staff (don't tell) into thinking he's doing full workouts when he's actually getting lapped by the rest of the team. They complete 10 sprints when he's only finishing 8. During drills, he's slotting himself into an encouragement role while secretly sitting out 25% of the reps but he seems engaged.

During the games themselves, he has to resort to embellishment and dirty hits because he can get a material benefit without any extra skill. It's generous to call it embellishment when his body can't take the beating anymore. The hits are mainly dirty because the other guys are much faster and he clips them in the wrong spots.

Harrington has historically loved pulling pranks, from his early days in Newfoundland to his twilight years in Chicago. But since he has made it up to Alberta the tables have turned. The Edmonton locker room is very young and bright skaters, but they are mischievous as well. This time Harrington is on the receiving end of the pranks usually. Though he does get in his own when he can. Last week someone cut a 1cm length of hair from Harrington's head while he wasn't looking. When he looked in the mirror later that night, he immediately realized there was something off about his look. He walked into practice the next day to find it taped to his skates with a note. It read that if he doesn't get a point in the next game, the team would shave him bald! This is too far for Harrington though. A bit of fun or not, nobody threatens the Hair! That is the source of his power and the only reason he's still around.
