S80 mPT #0: What Is 80 Anyway? Due: Sunday, December 15th @ 11:59 PM PST

S80 is important for many reasons, but mostly because Czechia is going to get gold in every even year year. In example s80, 82, 84, 86, 88, and hell why not 90!

80 is a fairly notable milestone that I don't think there is any harm in celebrating. As Megadeth sang in the song Whose Life Is It Anyway, "You tell me how to live, but who asked you anyway?" Let people celebrate the league's 80th anniversary if they would like to! I don't think I will be personally but that isn't to say it's wrong to

I'd say 100 feels more like the next big milestone for the league, and by then I imagine Jeff Kirkstone III will be just about ready to consider retirement.

I think it's important in a way that the league has been going for this long but if we start celebrating every 5's and every 10's it loses some of its importance. I think having some sort of celebration every 25 seasons is fun but more than that would be excessive.

S80 is no minor feat, but I agree, it will pale in comparison to the S100 Centennial Celebrations. I look forward to seeing what the league plans to put together at that time.

I don’t think that season 80 is more or as important as season 75. Only because we as Americans and I assume most people around the world find more value in three quarters more than four fifths.

The 80th season is an important milestone for the Simulation Hockey League, marking a significant achievement in its longevity and history (especially for me, a new member). While it’s not as impactful as the 100th season, it still deserves recognition. I’m proud to be part of this league as a new member and hope to see the upcoming seasons as an active and important member. The league could celebrate by hosting special events, releasing commemorative content, or holding a "Retro Night" showcasing memorable moments from the first 80 seasons. This would honor the legacy of the league while creating excitement for the next seasons, allowing fans to reflect on how far the league has come.

Milestones are divided into tiers.

Top tier is 100.

Then you have 50 at the second tier.

Third tier is the quarter milestones: 25 and 75.

The next tier is every decade with the bottom tier being every half decade.

80 would fall into that fourth tier of milestones.

Four score and zero seasons ago this started, and lets be real 100 is the next super milestone that will happen (although the Gretzky year will be good as well). Sure 80 is nice, but just another counter on the way to greatness.

Season 80 is not that big of a difference. its just a multiple of 10 at the end of the day and I don't put much significance to it. In fact I think 75 was a bigger milestone as that is a 3/4 century. So 80 is technically a stepping stone for 100.

Honestly I think 80 is bigger than 75. Just look at the math. And even without looking, I get why people celebrate round numbers, but I don't really get why 75 would be worth celebrating. 25th birthday for a human ist just as big as the 24th, but 30th is the big one. Same logic applies here.

I think it's a big enough deal that we should do some kind of acknowledgement, like a big shakeup to the All Star Game, adding in more players or something, just spit-balling here

80 is no small feat in and of itself, but I agree there's something more significant about 75 (and by association 25 and 50th season). When we eventually hit 100 it will be a lovely accomplishment.

80 is a big number, and any multiple of 10 should feel like a big milestone even if a multiple of 25 just passed. It may not be as significant as 75, but it does deserve some recognition, as would 90 even though its biggest implication is how close the league is getting to S100

I think S100 is the big dawg on the horizon. 75 is a cool marker, I don't really find 80 to be special. I look forward to recreating for the big dawg class in 100
