S80 mPT #0: What Is 80 Anyway? Due: Sunday, December 15th @ 11:59 PM PST

80 is just a stepping stone. Its a big fun stone, but a stone none the less. Its wild to think that I have been a part of this community for roughly 30 seasons at this point. Hopefully I am on player 3 for the big 100

No 80 is a random number. It is simply a multiple of 5 that is a stepping stone to 100. Sure, it’s a nice even number, but unimportant.

Do you think 80 is important milestone for the league or just a stepping stone on way to 100?
How would you think it should or could be celebrated?

I don't really put much stock in milestones in that way. Even the 100th season will be just another season. I guess you could argue that keeping track of total time is interesting, but seasons? Not really. If it is going to be celebrated, though, then how about 80 TPE for everyone...

I personally think every 25th season (aka 25, 50, 75, 100, etc) should be celebrated in a "big way" and then every 5th season (5, 10, 15, 20, etc) should also be celebrated for sure but not quite as much as the others.

" Maybe someones er... they don't like me but... because i'm too good, i don't know why. "

While 80 is a very important milestone for any league we do not need to celebrate its one of those things like yes we would love to but we don't want to take away from what the celebration is which is an accomplishment. Rewarding ourselves too early makes the reward too common and less interesting.

I think the 80th season is a huge milestone! Some real life pro leagues have lasted a lot less time, so it just goes to show how great of a community we foster here with everyone. It's something we should all be proud of and continue to stive for.

I think that in the grand scheme of things, S80 isn't the most important milestone for the league. Every 10 seasons is nice and all, but the big milestones are clearly S25, S50, S75, and S100.

I think 80, much like 30, is somewhat less relevant of a decade marker because of the quarter marker before it. That said, S80 is the first of a new batch of seasons and I expect a tone shift with that, however subtle it might be.

The 80th season is a cool milestone as we get closer to 100 seasons. I'm pretty sure if we went back and asked the older users of the stie if they would think this site would reach 80 or 100 seasons they would have been a bit skeptical. Long live shl!

S80 is important in the sense it ends in a 0. Really since our league seasons are not based on the real calendar even 100 does nkt mean a bunch

Season 80 should be celebrated by making all the retired players aged 80 and over suit up for the ice one last time and compete to take home the retirement home cup!

I think everyone should get a billion free SHL dollars and 200 free tpe. Make steroids legal and let everyone have 10x10. I also propose free Gabagool for everyone for life.

while 80 is quite an achievement, i honestly feel like its more of a stepping stone to get to that big 100. So cool, we're at 80, but i'm excited to see that 100 one.

I think every 5 seasons is a bit of a milestone, but in general carries less importance than every 10 which has less than every 25, 50, or 100. It can be acknowledged but it's a small milestone and not really worth much more than that, IMO.

I think S80 is important for the league as every season is important with new users and recreates joining, a fresh start for teams and continual improvement that has been seen since S1.

But for personal reasons, S80 is just a stepping stone as its a marker for just 20 more seasons until Kahri and friends can make the S100 Bonzana of recreating together.
