The opening night is also my first game in the SHL so of course it will be a good opportunity to make something special.
I will not be able to skate on my own for a few second before everybody else because in each opening night, there is a celebration and the organization present the team to the fans.
As one of the 3 new players of the team and the only rookie, I got some attention and it will be my pleasure to sign autograph after the game to the fans who came to see me.
With my first game that was against Toronto, I managed to score my first goal to put the score at 5-0. The feeling I had at that moment was amazing and I will never forget it. The fans were really amazing too and I'm sure they loved the show of the first home game!

Roquefort Cotswold is a natural prospect for a game show about athletic prowess. As a 4 sport athlete, Roquefort plays at an elite level in the ISFL, SSL, PBE, and finally the SHL. There are very few other competitors that could even be held up to the torch of Roquefort Cotswold. The high flying rat would leap over opposition on the football field, skirt slyly between their legs upon his skates, throw an eephus to most prolific batter on the show, and finally would wow the crowd with his incredible runs down the soccer pitch. The later stages of the show would consist mainly of our rodent protagonist hunting down other multi sport athletes and retiring them from the show. The first of which would be Chopper Donquixote, the stunted barber from that goofy pirate show. I already ran him out of one league, a show is light work. After smashing him on the field, striking him out on the diamond, crushing his ribcage with a hit on the ice - I would finally end it once and for all by megging his player on the soccer pitch.

Spaceman Spiff was shocked when he got the call to appear on "The Greatest Show on Earth". Amateur players don't normally get that sort of call. Spiff jumped at the chance, once he recovered from shock. He arrived to learn he had been invited to the Canadian edition, which explained a little bit of how he'd gotten the call. When the events began Spiff quickly found himself at a disadvantage. He had the upper hand in the hockey events, sweeping them but with a couple close calls. The other competitors had at least played hockey as children, and Canadian football star Brady Oliveira had played even longer and could skate like the wind. Spiff only beat Oliveira by a few strides in a race. But Spiff's skills did not translate well to the other sports and he finished dead last in all of them. He thought he had a chance in the home run contest but as expected former Blue Jays Left Fielder Davis Schneider won that easily. Spiff's worst event was a soccer penalty kick contest where he missed the net with every shot and failed to save even one. CF Montreal Goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois took that event and but lost narrowly to Oliveira in a final sprint that gave Oliveira the overall victory. Spiff finished 4th.

SEASON 80! Home opening nights are a tradition in Newfoundland. Before the game, the Zerks play the team's Season 80 hype video, and then, backup skaters would come out to the ice before the starting lineup is announced for Newfoundland. Then anthems, and shortly after, faceoff. Win or lose, some players come to lucky fans in the stands to sign autographs. In the game, the Zerks always try to win the home opener. The manager also gave the Zerks tons of hype before the start of the home opener. Hannah Crowder, a star of the Zerks made this season's opening night special by dying her hair temporarily red to commerate the Zerks' first home game of Season 80. And aside from that, she has had a hot start to S80 so far by being thirs in team goals and points.

Written option 2: electric boogaloo

Djoe anderson is all about the fans, he knows when he shows up to the home opener he's there to make the night one of the best nights of the fans lives, like he's all in on doing everything to be the ultimate showman, the ultimate teammate, and hell one time he even helped propose to a fans partner just because he wanted everything to go smooth, and who better than Djoe Anderson to help spring the question.

The night began like any other, Djoe walking down the tunnel, smashing glizzies and meeting lizzies (Like the lizard people that we all know are amongus) haha amongus. Anyways Djoe signed many things for people, caps, jerseys, car tires, empty jars of pickles, he really just signed everything. He signed a cast that he himself gave a fan the week prior after accidentally slipping on his discarded hotdog and smashing a youngster into the concrete wall, long story short that kid will never play hockey, but that's what happens when you go against the best.

yes pinli goes and i think he does terrible in baseball, but surprisingly well in football. i just don't think the young guy has enough of that raw arm strength to really crack a ball off into the stadium. i think at best if he really connects he gets like, a double. football, however, he's tiny and quick and nimble! you put pinli on wide receiver i think he's making a lot of big guys look silly running circles around them and making slick little catches. hockey obviously he puts on a real good show, and soccer i think he sorta just disappears. its not a game that comes easy to him and while he has good cardio and can stick with the play, i think he doesn't have the knack for doing anything impressive. no big mistakes but no cool players either, he's just there. if we have to rank performance i think he's #1 loving his time showing off in hockey, then #2 surprising himself with his football prowess, then #3 just waiting out the clock on the soccer game, before #4 hating every second of baseball.

On opening night, Dejana Kaptina doesn't really do anything too too different from normal. She's a very rhythm driven player that doesn't really want her routine disrupted for any reason whatsoever. When she's introduced, it's just a simple stick raised to the heavens to acknowledge the crowd applauding her. About the only thing that's really any different is her outfits, which are a bit more extravagant for opening night. When the game starts, it's just another game, the first step of many towards the Cup - and having tasted success last season, she's all business about trying to repeat with the Citadelles. She won't turn down a fan that requests autographs or anything, turning those down is horrible PR but she prefers just to keep to herself and get things going - focusing on that first shift, that first shot, getting used to that new season smell.

Option 1: When Nor saw the list of athletes that would be on the show with him, he was shocked to be one of the sportsmen invited to take part in it, to a point where he considered refusing the invitation, but after a little bit of thinking, he realized that it was an opportunity that was too good to pass on. On the show with him, there would be a multitude of other athletes including Mike Trout, Nikola Jovic and Antoine Griezmann. Before the actual show started, Nor asked his fellow athletes to help him with some aspects of their respective sports. Of course, Nor would not compete in the hockey category since it’s the sport he practices, but he was looking forward to seeing how he would do in the other sports. Nor had a really good performance in both baseball and soccer with baseball getting the edge, but he was terrible when it came to basketball.

Written Option 1

Emil Karlsson is always thinking about his brand off the ice, so he would not miss an opportunity like this under any circumstance. He is very aware that he won't be able to play in the SHL forever, and when his career in the limelight for his sporting prowess is over, it'll be on him to look to have built enough of a profile to make money in other ways and this is a great example. Given that he is an incredibly talented athlete I think that he would perform well, even against some of the other stars that have been rumoured to be taking part, including soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Djemba-Djemba and Kim Kallstrom, along with basketball hero Tony Snell and NFL legend JaMarcus Russell. The sport that I think he would do worst in is anything related to baseball, as even though he is supremely talented as an athlete there simply hasn't been the opportunity for Emil to become great at it. His performance in the other tasks will be more than sufficient to overcome any shortfall in this area however I'm sure.

Written Option 2:

For Season 80, the Baltimore Platoon started with a tough 3 game road trip to Montreal, also Angeles then Minnesota, talk about racking up the air miles! Good wins over the Patriotes and Monarchs, and a competitive single goal loss to the Panthers, meant that the fans were even more excited for the home opener than usual. Inge Baardsen noticed a difference in the crowd when the Tampa Bay Barracuda came to visit. Having already seen their team play 3 games and play them well, the fans were super loud and very enthusiastic. Even for the pre-game skate, the fans were there in number, loud and proud. Inge got to interact with them beforehand, signing autographs when he arrived at the arena to find hundreds of fans there hours before puck drop. And throwing pucks over the glass to waiting kids, who were cheering them through the warm ups. It was a huge reception which Inge will never forget and helped fortify them for a stunning 9-8 win over the fancied Barracuda!

Violet is someone who's competitive -- within her own sport -- and has skills polished specifically for hockey. I think she'd be willing to go to this multi-sport event but probably not do very well overall. She enjoys playing center for the Atlanta Inferno a lot, but most of the technical skills used in hockey don't translate particularly well to other sports. I think you could make an argument for fine motor control of the stick perhaps being useful for hitting a baseball, but skating isn't exactly running between bases. Receiving passes and intercepting opposing players may translate somewhat to baseball (fielding) and football (receiving/defending passes) from a hand-eye coordination perspective, but the technical aspects are entirely different since you're receiving the ball with your hands in those sports as opposed to a stick like in hockey. The reverse (ie other sports' skills not translating well to hockey) also certainly applies, but I think there are more completely shared skills between baseball, football, and soccer relative to hockey. I think Violet, as a relatively younger player, would play against Paige Bueckers or Caitlin Clark from the NCAA/WNBA respectively, maybe Trinity Rodman from the NWSL, and some random multi-sport athlete (likely a TE) from the NFL.

Written Option 2: Home Opening nights are usually big shows for the hosting team. Fans are watching with anticipation, waiting for the first look at what their favourite teams are going to look like this season. How does your player try to make opening night special? Do they stay behind to sign autographs for the fans? Do they give it 120% to get a win for the first home game of the season? Do they do special celebrations when introduced in the pre-game ceremony?

It is Yuri Boyka III's first SHL game and he is extremely anxious. He knows the fans are waiting for him to make a splash especially with how big of a star is grandpa was, the OG Yuri Boyka. He knows it is make it or break it and he needs to fulfill the expectations that are set for him. Boyka III steps on the ice and the crowd goes crazy. The crowd's chant of "Boyka, Boyka, Boyka", sent a shiver up his spine. Boyka III told himself, that this game he must perform for the whole fanbase that are here to see him. The game against Calgary starts, and Boyka takes off with the puck. He unleashes a monstrous slap shot and boom it goes in. The crowd goes nuts and for his celebration, Boyka III goes on all fours and starts acting like a polar bear. The crowd go even crazier and they all start going on fours. Thing is getting crazy and the game resumes. At the end of the game, Boyka III had a hat trick and was nominated as the first star. The fans were pleased and waited for Mr.Boyka to come out to grab his autograph. Even though Boyka III does not like much attention, he did it for his fanbase and gave them what they wanted

Option 1:

Beck loves playing all sports, so he should be able to perform well at anything he tries. That being said, he may struggle a bit with basketball, because he would just want to run around the court bowling people over and setting illegal picks. He would then be kicked out. Mischievous things would then pursue when the other athletes play hockey, because he would just go around and bowl them over when the puck came near to them. Is he a bully? Some would say so, but I think you should just see it as a fiery competitive spirit. I think organizing a "greatest show" of all the top athletes of each sport playing all the other sports would be a fun event and draw droves of people out to watch. Of course the athletes would have to sign a waiver and get insurance, especially if roving Beck is out there! Watch out!
