S80 PT #1: The Greatest Show On Earth Due: Sunday, December 22nd @ 11:59 PM PST

Nathaniel absolutely goes. First of all this kind of stuff is hard written into the contracts in the SHL ever since the new commissioner came along and forced this kind of participation.
By far the sport he expected and will do worst at is soccer, he's just not very feet coordinated. He is an excellent athlete however and overall the expectation for hockey players is to do well in this kind of event because hockey is so unique. Anything skating related will be very difficult to make even for the others, but anything off ice should be pretty good for Nathaniel to dominate that specific category and his athleticism should be enough to give him a solid advantage.
Other players who are involved are the reincarnation of Larry Bird - he's the favorite to win, Luka Doncic is there as well as a current player as well as Michael Vick as the NFL refused to send any active player and of course who else but Messi representing soccer.

Option 2:

There are a few big games in the regular season schedule that attracts more fan fare. The first one on that list is the home opener. The home opener signifies so many things for a fanbase. It's renewed hope and optimism for a fresh season. It's a first look at new players, or a return to watching your favourite ones. There's an energy in the air and a hype from the crowd that you can really feel.

For the players, it's very easy to get psyched up for the home opener. I love taking in the atmosphere during the pre-game warmups. The one thing I do at the end of the game is come out of the tunnel and sign autographs for the fans who stick around at the end. I also take pictures and just take some time and mingle with the fans. It's a special night for everyone involved so I try to make it a little more special for the fans who came out. The home opener is the start of something big and I always love taking it in and embracing it.

Opening night after a cup win is always something special, and this season was no exception. As is becoming tradition in San Francisco, we had plenty of time to shake the rust off during our opening road trip, and entered banner night with a 4-1 record before hosting the Manhattan Rage for our sixth game of the season. Fans were treated to a pre-game concert outside the stadium, with appearances from several Pride players who took the time to sign memorabilia and pose for fan pictures before heading inside to prepare for the game. Fans and players alike were misty-eyed when the Pride's second ever championship banner was raised to the rafters alongside the S76 banner, and unlike some banner nights, the team came out in full force to defeat their opponents 9-0. Justin Time was particularly impressive, turning away all twenty-three shots for his second shutout of the season.

For Billy Herrington, home opening night is more than just the first game on home ice—it’s a celebration of hockey and a chance to connect with the fans who fuel the team’s energy. From the moment he steps into the arena, Billy makes it his mission to make opening night unforgettable. He starts by fully embracing the pre-game ceremony. While some players might just skate out for introductions, Billy makes his entrance with flair, waving to the crowd and flashing his signature grin. He thrives on the energy of the fans and often adds a personal touch, like tossing a puck into the stands or saluting a section of die-hard supporters. When the puck drops, Billy goes into overdrive. Giving it 120% is just the baseline for him—he’s relentless on the ice, diving for pucks, delivering big hits, and setting up plays to ensure the team has the best chance at securing a win. He knows how much a strong opening night performance means, not just for the standings but for setting the tone of the season. After the game, win or lose, Billy makes a point to stick around. He’s the first to head over to the glass to greet fans, sign autographs, and take pictures. He even encourages younger fans to pursue their own dreams, showing that hockey is more than a sport—it’s a community. For Billy, opening night isn’t just about starting the season; it’s about making a lasting impression and inspiring everyone in the stands.

Ok, that will be fun. Valieva was a weightlifting champion, but it does not translate well to team sports in general. I think she has potential to play a good baseball game, including starting brawls with the other teams. She would be a catcher or a first base. I think she is perfect to play American football. She would be great as a blocker on the offensive line (is it what they are called? I know almost nothing about football). I do not think she’ll have the finesse of a soccer player and might have problems. I think she’ll do fine in overall. It will be fun watching others trying to skate and play hockey. Soccer players getting hit for real and not faking… it will be fun watching trying to play more physical sports like hockey and football. Maybe basketball could be another sport Valieva would do fine, but not very well. In overall, Team SHL should win hockey, do ok in soccer, baseball and football, and be bad at basketball.

Written Option 2:

Opening Night is the most magical night for any sports team each season asides from playoff games, and as such, Trevor Lopez is very dedicated to making sure that all fans have an experience that they'll be able to cherish for the rest of their lives. He doesn't do any special celebrations before the game, however, mainly because he's always been the softspoken type of guy who lets his actions speak for him. He puts his efforts BEFORE the game into making sure that he gives 150% the second his skates touch the ice. The most important way to set the tone for a season is to win your home opener, and that's what Trevor intends to do. After the game, however, he intends on spending hours taking pictures and signing autographs for anyone who might be interested. He knows that he's nobody's favorite player, but that doesn't mean he can't do everything in his power to warm up to his new Chicago fanbase and give the children in attendance a memory they'll never forget.

Written Option 2: Home Opening nights are usually big shows for the hosting team. Fans are watching with anticipation, waiting for the first look at what their favourite teams are going to look like this season. How does your player try to make opening night special? Do they stay behind to sign autographs for the fans? Do they give it 120% to get a win for the first home game of the season? Do they do special celebrations when introduced in the pre-game ceremony?

Opening night is a special night for sure, but it is more for the fans than for the players, I think. Sure, it is exciting to be back out there competing for the squad again, alongside all your teammates, but the show you put on for the fans is what really gets the juices flowing. They are at the game to see their favorite players and their favorite team. There is a serious motivation to win to get the fans excited, and to start the season off on the right foot. Winning early can really jettison a team off the start of the season, and a big home win is exactly what the doctor ordered to get a everyone on board for a long run. So after that big win, you know you need to stick around to make it even more special for the fans and sign autographs, really emerse yourself in the moment and gear up for a long run to a championship.

S61 Four Star Cup - Game-Winning Goal in the clinching Game 4

I think Mia Lavoie stands a pretty good chance at doing well in this fancy fandangled little sports game show. While her talents primarily live in the realm of hockey, she's got some pretty good friends hanging around the ISFL and SSL who can give her some tips on how to hone her game to do well in any tasks related to football or soccer. Her friend Billdozer Dauterive plays a pretty mean defensive game and can give her some ideas for how to plow through the offense on the football field, while Maggie Sinclair is all about speed and physical strength out on the soccer pitch. Baseball might be a little trickier for Mia to pick up, but how hard could it really be? Instead of hitting things with stick on ice it's hitting things out of the air while standing mostly stationary on grass, or shale, or whatever it usually is for a roughly equivalent position to what she'd play in baseball. But at the end of the day, even if she does well in the other sporting events, hockey will always be Mia's true love.

The Greatest Show on Earth is exactly what William Tree has been waiting for his whole life. When William was a kid he could never really sit still anywhere and would always like to be entertained by something weather that be a football, basketball, golf, soccer, baseball, you name it. Everything you can think of William was trying as a kid. William has a strong passion for all the sports in the world and I wouldn't consider him bad at any of them. His strong suits in the show would of course be hockey (duhhh) and football. Those were the two he grew up playing the most and followed him all the way through college. Baseball would be his 3rd best with soccer coming in last. William would for sure go to this show and wouldn't miss it for anything so he can showcase his skills off to the world

Ima Noobie competed in The Greatest Show on Earth, representing hockey players against several other sports stars which included Yeti Taz of the PBE, Holden Affart from the ISFL and Daisy Pierce from the PBA. The contests involved were a Punt, Pass and Kick, a Softball Style Home Run Derby, a game of Horse and Sudden Death Style Hockey Shootout. To no surprise, Noobie threw out his shoulder and his hip doing the Punt, Pass and Kick and was credited with the most airballs during a free throw shooting contest. He also got an unsportsmanlike penalty for trying to get the phone number of the lady from the PBA while also incurring the wrath of her boyfriend. He also had the indignity of striking out twice during the slow-pitch softball home run derby. And he couldn't even win the hockey competition as the Yeti from PBE outskated and outshot him. Needless to say, the SHL will send someone else next year.

Written Option 2:

Opening night I tend to just try to go out there, smile and look pretty for the cameras. And by that, I mean I hire a specialized team of makeup artists and hairstylists to make myself look beyond presentable. An absolute man rocket who stands so far above the rest of the team that it's distracting. This is crucial for sponsorship deals as the season progresses. As I age into obscurity on the ice, I have to do my best to remain a valuable asset to promoters. Aging can be a bonus as I near my final season in the league. I just let the grey in my hair shine through a little, attaining the silver fox tag on social media. I sign some free things for the only time during the season at this event, to trick fans into thinking that will be a regular occurrence. I hate standing there for the ceremony, but I know I have to put up appearances at least while the camera is on me. So from the second I skate out until the player after me goes, it's all smiles and waves.

Written Option 2:

Weston Windsor tends to view home openers as just another game, but it's hard to deny that the fanfare around the games makes for a different atmosphere. At the behest of his team's own front office, he shows up a little early to sign autographs on the way in from the team bus, and also stays late for that same purpose. On the ice, the effort level is the same: while special games can being that charged atmosphere, it's still the same two points in the same grind of a season. You're still putting in the same work, making the same plays. In his mind, if you try to get outside of that viewpoint -- if you treat it like something more than that, then you're putting pressure on yourself that might cause you to blow the game. Come out to a fancy introduction, some some autographs, maybe participate in some sort of festivities throughout the week, but when the puck drops -- you block all of it out, and you play your game.
