Gagner is of the opinion that the best way to entertain a home crowd on opening night is simply to put it all out there on the ice and give them a show worth remembering. Sure the extras are nice and help elevate the game, but ultimately the fans are there to see their team win. This is at least what Gagner thinks, but what usually happens is a different story entirely. In fact, he got so nervous in the days leading up to this season's opener that the coach actually decided to scratch him. His team did end up with the W but they did so without Gagner. He had mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, the nerves sure went away. But on the other, he'll never be able to achieve his goal of entertaining the fans on opening night. Well, there's always next year, assuming he actually cracks the lineup by then, that is. Hockey wasn’t the only sport that Anastasia Söderström played growing up, but it’s the one that she’s always felt most at home playing. A lot of hockey players in Sweden would also play soccer in the offseason to keep their footwork and reflexes sharp, and Ana was one of them. While she didn’t play goalie there, she would usually play defense as it lets her get practice with seeing the entire formation in front of her. She trains sometimes with former pro soccer player Alexandra Laurent, and with Laurent also being on the show Ana could probably pick up a thing or two. The sport Ana would be worst at would definitely be football, since it’s just not something she’s ever really played before. She’d do her best to try and imitate players like former quarterback/running back Jake Jefferson to at least make it appear like she knows what she’s doing, but in that sport she’d be more focused on just not embarrassing herself. Hockey is where she’s most at home anyway.

Katharina Rosenthal would of course be happy to participate. She would certainly give it her all, though being a goalie it's a bit harder to be effective at some of the other sports, since the challenges used more general skills for the sports rather than something a goalie would excel at. At the very least even as a goalie her ability to skate at all gave her a solid advantage in the hockey challenges. Katharina also played soccer when she was younger, so she was able to hold her own there. Unfortunately for her both baseball and football were well out of the realm of possibility for her, and calling in her brothers for their respective expertise was a no go from the showrunners. While the tag team would have been fun, it would have been just as fun had her brothers been representatives from other leagues. Unfortunately that was not the case, and Katharina wasn't familiar with the other names representing other leagues. Jamie Fraser, up and coming star in the Simulation Hockey League, finally declined an opportunity for enriching his brand recognition when approached about the upcoming The Greatest Show on Earth. The exposure and recognition is no longer critical for him and he has needed to refocus and spend his free time tracking down what happened to his wife as they've spiralled through timelines. While competitive to the extreme, there is no longer value to doing these side quests at this point and they are only getting in the way of his search. It is definitely not that he does not know how other sports work still, and that he knows he would be at a massive disadvantage going into this show and that would be both frustrating and an even bigger time sink than otherwise considered. If that was not a problem I am sure Jamie would be eager to prove his mettle.

Home openers are a huge deal for everyone involved. Fans are excited to start the journey with their favorite team and hopefully bring home a Cup. Season ticket holders are excited to be at their home away from home at the stadium. Coaches and GMs are eager to see what their offseason roster/game plan tweaks look like on the ice. Owners are excited for the windfall of cash that a new season brings to their off shore tax haven bank accounts. And players are excited to put on a show and go to battle with their teammates.
On opening night Boogan is sure to take everything in. Being from and playing in St. Louis, he distributes opening night tickets to his friends, family, and girls that rejected him in high school. Boogan plays with a little more physicality in home openers. He chirps a little more personally. He savors every moment. Boogan also stays after to sign things for the fans, and does donuts in the parking lot before heading home to shower off and hit the town. Life is a little sweeter on opening night.

Written option 1: Jauhnne Hawky would be an interesting candidate for this, as he is a rather well rounded player in hockey, and he is rather average overall. Naturally he would dominate the other candidates in any hockey related challenge, home ice advantage and all that, and he would not overcome the candidates in any challenge related to their own sport. But since he is such a well rounded player he would have a leg up against the other candidates in challenges that are also not related to their sport. He would more easily adapt to the challenges of the other sports than them and if the challenges are spread over the sports evenly would take the lead if there is a points system and place first overall. It is a coin flip on whether or not his calm and generally joyful demeanor would have spectators view him as a humble winner or an insufferable one.

My player would obviously go because besides being a good opportunity in itself, its a good way to use the air time for marketing incentives regardless of actually winning the game show. Luckily Hockey Player was trained in a secret desert monastery, hidden remotely. This is actually where batman was also trained. Using this skills I’m sure that Hockey Player would be best at the soccer portion of things because it is such an easy and inferior sport. Hopefully there are many more SHL players attending so that Hockey Player has some real competition. But I think to make sure everything is balanced we should bring in some people such as the worlds best ping pong players, the best curling players, maybe a couple boxers or ufc fighters as well as the the fastest sailing crew on the earth. I think this would also be the great foundation of an upcoming heist movie like oceans 11 where all of the different athletes have their specialties but we will have to see where the networks take it.

The greatest show on earth my skate! Elaina Beneski was pitched an opportunity to appear in the "Greatest Show on Earth," an alleged showcase of the greatest professional athletes in the world. As a young up and comer, they tapped to appear in an upcoming episode, explaining that they'd had leading professional hockey players, the Manning brothers and some Olympic sprinters. Well, at it turned out, the leading professional hockey payers were from the KHL, the Manning brothers were Chester and Godfrey Manning, the world champions of cornhole and the Olympic sprinters were Mercedes sprinters that had been used by couriers working for the International Olympic Committee. Her co-stars when she appeared were a dog that played high school soccer, Max Manchester, the world's strongest professional darts player and Tonya TheCheese Watson, two time champion butter churner. The challenges they were put up to included penultimate Frisbee, nerf archery and a wheelchair race (pushing).

Well, if you think of it, the reality is that opening night is just a night in which hockey is back for the first time in a bit. Is it special? Maybe, depending on how last season ended, and bow this one starts following a busy or quiet offseason. The point is, while the game wasn't in everyone's minds, expectations were slowly simmering in the fans subconscious, which is a good thing, but ultimately they always end up in a weird place as opposed to where they should probably be. What Derek, as the team's captain, focus on rather is to make sure tu present well in the ceremony, to be the classy leader they know him to be, to arrive fit and ready and to give everything he has, just like any other game really. Its business as usual, its 2 points up for grabs, and he sure as hell intends to take both every night he jumps on the ice wearing teal and orange for the Panthers.

Juan makes Hope openers special by showing up early to chat with fans in line. He loves listening to them hype up the team and joins in the excitement of projecting how the season is going to go with them. Obviously he signs as many autographs as he can as well before the game too. This year he bought 25 kid Langston jerseys with his newly minted "C" on them to surprise the kids.During the game it's business as usual. Game number doesn't matter as Juan always gives 100% and expects to win sixty six every year. Immediately post game Juan ensures a kid gets his stick and obviously signs more autographs before heading down the tunnel. After doing changing and doing any media requirements, Juan grabs leads the rookies to the concourse to continue to meet with fans who have stay to chat about the game, season, and to introduce all the exciting new rookies winnipeg has this year.

When "The Greatest Show on Earth" came calling, Grindle didn’t even hesitate. “Best? Me? Of course I’m in,” he said, swaggering into the game show set like it was his personal stage. The competition was fierce, with some heavy hitters from every sport—Shohei Ohtani, Harry Kane, elite Cincinnati Bengals player Ja'Marr Chase, and the scary agility of Kyrie Irving. But it was Grindle who stole the show.
In baseball, he might’ve struggled with the finer points of batting, but when it came to catching a ball? Grindle was a natural, earning himself a beautiful diving catch. Soccer? Grindle wasn’t exactly nimble on his feet, but with some flair, he made a few jaw-dropping moves. Football? He threw passes like big Paddy Mahomes himself. When it came to basketball, Grindle got absolutely wrecked, simply lacking the handles to make it work. Still, it was a great show, and Grindle left as the fan favorite.

Written Option 2: Home Opening nights are usually big shows for the hosting team. Fans are watching with anticipation, waiting for the first look at what their favourite teams are going to look like this season. How does your player try to make opening night special? Do they stay behind to sign autographs for the fans? Do they give it 120% to get a win for the first home game of the season? Do they do special celebrations when introduced in the pre-game ceremony?
Typically on most opening nights at the Highlander barn in Ottawa, my skater will cook hotdogs out front of the arena for any fans that show up two hours before we have to get dressed for the game. Most of the time the General Manager will also have some bagpipe players to get the crowd ready for the match. If it's an election year in Canada, then the team provides an old car for fans to shoot and/or throw pucks at, as a way for people to get their frustrations out while chowing down on a famous Highlander dog. A lot of the times fans will come up to the team to get them to sign autographs or take a quick photo, which is highly encouraged and looked forward to by the players on the team. Community is a strong draw for us in Ottawa, we look for ways to give back to the people who come to our games. 165 words

Written Option 1:
Walbilly Koala could never deny a challenge, especially if it means he could display the greatness of hockey! And… likely is pretty middling. Of course, he’d be great at hockey! Maybe even football because of his evasiveness and ability to get from Point A to Point B in no time flat, even off the ice skates! But I can’t imagine Koala would be amazing at tasks related to Baseball or Soccer. His height is the biggest disadvantage there. I fear that in soccer, he’d be small enough that he could be misconstrued as the ball! And for baseball, while he’d be spectacular at running from base to base, catching balls and especially pitching are not skills he’d have. So because he’s exceptional at half the various sports-related tasks but also horrible at the other half, you’d have a very middling, adequate, or non-exceptional performance from Koala on “The Greatest Show on Earth.” (152 Words)

Pork Tenderloin is always giving 120% in every single game he happens to be in the lineup for the New England Wolfpack. Nothing brings greater joy to his meaty soul than having thousands and thousands of screaming fans cheering for him. This season as well as last season in particular have been special for Tenderloin as he has been honored to wear the A for the New England Wolfpack. It's an incredible feeling to be able to be in a leadership position for one of the best teams in the league. Even better that it is a team that he has been on for years and years and now it is his turn to fill the veteran's shoes and give guidance and be a presence in the locker room. As for the home opener, Tenderloin certainly takes it upon himself to give just as much effort as he always does. And of course he would stay after to sign autographs for as many fans as he can because he knows that a small part of his day can be a very significant part of those fans' lives. |
