There really isn't much that can be done about movement in season because so many teams make the playoffs and in a sim engine all you need to do is make the playoffs to have a chance. Only 4 teams won't make it and most of those teams are rebuilding and want to keep their good core players.

I don't think that this "problem" can ever be solved as this is a Sim/Hobby-league, not a job where you are chasing millions in contract money by going somewhere else.
People will always prefer staying somewhere were they are comfortable with the locker room since payment literally doesn't matter. ![]() ![]() Registered Raptors Captain and Czech Janitor
I don't think the deadline needs to be a super huge thing. With the way chemistry works in the sim engine, making big moves might mess things up more than help them. Plus in the SHL, having that chemistry is a huge part of having success.
It would almost make sense for teams that are doing bad in the Jr league to trade for solid 3-4 year players to get out of the bottom of the rankings. ![]() Colorado Raptors Capitan S42-Until Forever! Czechia Wants you! Ask about a transfer!! ![]() All-Star Committee The All-Tsar
More movement would be fun in its way, but there are so many factors against it. Many have already pointed out FHM chemistry issues, and changing LR might have players not wanting to move. The best you could hope for is big players on worse teams trying to move to contenders, but I don't think it necessarily helps the team they would go to so much that they would give up the assets it takes.

I think more trades would be nice. However, the SHL is different from the NHL since less teams are going to be sellers and the seasons are much shorter. SHL is limited by the FHM and the season length. Also, it is hard to trade players especially with the presence of LR where it is hard to trade away players who are active and important part of the LR.

I feel like the SHL season is so fast paced that stimulating more activity around the deadline would be troublesome. Especially with how much the sim values chemistry, I'd rather have those teething issues in the preseason than in crucial late season matches.

I don’t think anything should be done to encourage trades, but I do think encouraging and making room for moves during free agency would make trades much more common. Incentivizing trades directly would create an artificial market, but the need to move a player who won’t re-sign creates a better trade market. Giving some leverage to players in the long run creates a better trade market.

No. SHL shouldn't be like NHL. Even if it might happen, there is no reason to force it. Trades happen when they need to happen and that's the beauty of this game.

This league uses a different economy than others I've been part of in the past. You could consider a few isolated bonuses for teams to use separate from the salary cap, some for loyalty-type contracts and the rest for obtaining free agents. I'm sure some members wouldn't be bothered by it, while others could be swayed if they're not rolling in the billions range.

This is generally a sim league thing I think. I guess maybe if there were byes in the playoffs teams might be more inclined to push even ahrder for those spots? I am not sure

I dont think you can force or try to generate more movement. Most Users/players are with their respective team for a reason and for the most part probably want to stay with them. The Salary Cap is a big factor into making moves. So maybe do away with it or restructure it

I have concepts of an idea, it's the best ideas, I'm great at ideas and every one including some very intelligent people have all been saying that I'm the best at ideas.

If a team has the pieces that they actually want to go into postseason with, or have the tools to acquire what they need leading up to draft time, I don't see any reason to change things. Most all of the GM's out there have gotten lots of experience in figuring this part out so if there isn't much movement on things, that doesn't surprise me.

The way the playoff races are set in SHL means that you’re very rarely going to have teams actually selling at the deadline. If you’re out of the playoffs, hey, don’t worry, new season starts in a month and you can run it back, no need to blow things up!
