Good evening, and welcome to the Season 80 SHL Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony!

To start tonight, I want to remind everyone of the voting rules!
Each member of the committee (10 people in all) nominates 5 retired athletes from the list of eligible players and ranks them 1 through 5, which in turn gives these players points according to their rank (10 points for 1st, 7 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, 3 for 4th and 1 point for 5th).
Each committee member must also provide a short written piece to support their choices.
These points are then totaled, and all players who receive 35 points or more are selected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

For GMs, committee members are allowed to place 2 votes, with 1st being 10 points and 2nd being 5, and a GM must receive at least 65 points to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Before we celebrate those who made it, let’s take a chance to recognize those who graced our ballots for the final time this season.
Thirty-one players were on the ballot for the final time during Season 80 who, unfortunately, did not garner enough votes to be inducted into the SHL Hall of Fame.

"Evan Winter accomplished much in a relatively "short" SHL career. In that time, he received 5 All-SHL nods (for close to half of his career!), a whopping 10 total award wins/nominations, and somehow maintained close to 1.3 PPG. My favourite thing with all of that in mind is that he won a Dar (among other awards) for his two-way play, not just for how clearly insane he was at getting the puck into the back of the net.”

Our next inductee this evening has a trophy cabinet that rivals some of the most decorated skaters in league history, with 2 All-SHL appearances and 5 Award wins, not to mention the two Challenge Cups that he helped his team win. With just over 1500 regular-season games played, this player can be viewed as one of the best forwards in the FHM6 era, and he has the stats to back it up, with over 1200 points and over 2200 hits BEFORE the scoring and hit inflation of FHM8.
