The position of Head Fileworker has opened up once again and HO is looking to fill the role.
File work is inputting players' attributes from the site into the FHM league file. Player attributes are updated via the portal updates each user makes for their player. A snapshot of changes is taken weekly and file updates are made every Sunday. There are 23 attributes in FHM that users can update and these values have to be changed manually for each player. There are also various set and hidden attributes that need to be correct, but generally these only need to be edited when first adding a player into the league file. When adding players into the file the Fileworkers are also responsible for ensuring things like player name, height, weight, and nationality are correct.
The Head Fileworker is expected to:
- perform a portion of the SHL team updates on a weekly basis
- hire and manage the file work team to keep on task within expected deadlines
- develop documentation to help, train, and inform file work
- coordinate with SHL, SMJHL, IIHF, and WJC leadership on any file related issues
Important traits for an applicant to have are thoroughness, timeliness, attention to detail, and trustworthiness. This is a position that the entire site relies on. If this team becomes dysfunctional, all users will feel it.
Availability on Sundays is a must for anyone applying to this role. All that said, as Head Fileworker you will have the freedom to structure the team as you see fit. If you think there are any processes that can be improved upon or additional roles that could improve how the team functions, HO would love to hear it. This role and the work it does is largely behind the scenes so if you have any questions about it please reach out to HO on site or on discord.

FHM8 is nice to have during this transition from 8 to 10
SHL and SMJHL GMs are ineligible for this role
Pay for this position is
12M and a PT Pass

In addition to this, we have spent some time throughout the discussions regarding this role, and have determined that there is additional work we'd like done in order to explore the features of FHM10 for the purpose of determining which of those features could be reasonably used within our league. For that reason, @
SDCore (with the bulk of the transition work he was overseeing now accomplished) will be spearheading the formation of a new Filework sister team (working name "Sim Research Team"). Stand by for more information on that in the coming days!
